The shopping mall, as captured in films

"Smooth Talk" from 1985 has some of the best mall sequences ever. "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Valley Girl" are pretty great for this too. As far as horror goes, "Chopping Mall" and "The Initiation" also come to mind.

OP is a cunt, the defining mall and zombie movie is Dawn of the Dead, which literally defined the premise of mall horror movies.

Excuse me, but there was a whole movie about it!

Hah, r3! I was about to mention Scenes from a Mall. I saw it in a theater when it first came out. Fill wall to wall with the most BORING and inane dialogue that was meant to be funny and "insightful." I didn't laugh once.

Night of the Comet has some great mall scenes, too.

Kindergarten Cop has a great opening inside of a mall as well and, every time I see it, I'm immediately taken back to that late 80's/early 90's mall culture. It was huge back then and that's where everyone went on the weekends.

The Blue Brothers had a great car chase through a mall.

Tai's near death experience at the mall in Clueless is legendary and iconic. Need to pitch an idea for a Clueless reboot at my next meeting.

Nocturama, about young French terrorists spending a desperate night hiding out in a shopping mall is pretty disturbing.

I always liked all the mall scenes in Jackie Brown. Easily Tarantino's best film.
