It was heaven.

Waaaay too much tuna to bread ratio.

by Anonymousreply 1February 24, 2021 6:55 PM

My cat had that too.

by Anonymousreply 2February 24, 2021 6:56 PM

No Celery!

by Anonymousreply 3February 24, 2021 6:58 PM

Pretty standard recipe except for the celery.

by Anonymousreply 4February 24, 2021 7:02 PM

Tuna fish.

Duke's Mayo.

Maybe a bit of sour cream.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Anything else is just piss elegant.

by Anonymousreply 5February 24, 2021 7:03 PM

Sour cream?! 🤮

by Anonymousreply 6February 24, 2021 7:04 PM

Sour cream????

by Anonymousreply 7February 24, 2021 7:07 PM

I had the tuna and cranberry sandwich from Whole Foods yesterday. It was okay. I don’t know how it was made.

by Anonymousreply 8February 24, 2021 7:08 PM

It was heaven? How....queer.

by Anonymousreply 9February 24, 2021 7:09 PM

The Tuna sandwich mix at Sherman's Deli in Palm Springs is life changing.

by Anonymousreply 10February 24, 2021 7:11 PM

This recipe seems pretty regular to me.

by Anonymousreply 11February 24, 2021 7:13 PM

The tuna melt at Blimpie would make my tastebuds do the tango.

by Anonymousreply 12February 24, 2021 7:14 PM

That's literally the same recipe that everyone has used for centuries.

by Anonymousreply 13February 24, 2021 7:14 PM

Except for the garlic, it looks like a standard tuna salad recipe.

The toast is burned.

by Anonymousreply 14February 24, 2021 7:14 PM

My mom’s simple tuna salad

Drain a can of tuna

Mix with Yoplait (any flavor but the fruit and citrus ones go really well with fish)

Add in celery, pecans, pineapple, apple, raisins, craisins, mini marshmallows, grape halves, carrots, onions, leeks, potatoes, egg, garlic

Salt and pepper to taste

A dash of worchesthire sauce and some condensed milk to sweeten and hot sauce for some heat

by Anonymousreply 15February 24, 2021 7:15 PM

I've never had tuna with anything except celery and mayo. I also like to pulverize the tuna first in the food processor. My sister likes it that way too and we realized it was because that was how they served it in school lunches in grade school. And it always had celery.

by Anonymousreply 16February 24, 2021 7:16 PM

No garlic.

by Anonymousreply 17February 24, 2021 7:17 PM

I'll try it. I'm always looking for the perfect combo of ingredients.

R16 interesting idea. Is the celery chunky or sort of pulverized too?

by Anonymousreply 18February 24, 2021 7:17 PM

OP, fraus use the words "heaven" and "bliss" to describe pleasant experiences.

by Anonymousreply 19February 24, 2021 7:18 PM

Yes, except for the garlic, pretty normal recipe. The only slight twist would be the sweet pickle relish.

by Anonymousreply 20February 24, 2021 7:19 PM

I didn't know what else to say R19. It was that good. I also had a side of potato salad with it.

by Anonymousreply 21February 24, 2021 7:20 PM

Four cans of tuna?

by Anonymousreply 22February 24, 2021 7:21 PM

r18 the celery is cut up small but not pulverized.

by Anonymousreply 23February 24, 2021 7:22 PM

4 cans??? way too damn much.

I do a dallop of mayo, 1-2 cans of tuna, kraut, salt, pepper. I'll try adding some veggies though!

by Anonymousreply 24February 24, 2021 7:22 PM

It's astounding that so many people got paid actual money to assemble, photograph, and chart this overwrought over-designed, twee, inane, web article about fuckin' TUNA SALAD.

by Anonymousreply 25February 24, 2021 7:29 PM

R15 That sounds utterly disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 26February 24, 2021 7:33 PM

Sounds like ambrosia tuna salad.

by Anonymousreply 27February 24, 2021 7:34 PM

It’s basic tuna salad with garlic. I use the tangy taste of Miracle Whip for mine.

by Anonymousreply 28February 24, 2021 7:38 PM

My family recipe for tuna salad is tuna, Miracle Whip and pickle relish. Very easy to make. I used to make it myself as a child in a reused margarine bowl.

by Anonymousreply 29February 24, 2021 7:38 PM

[quote]I use the tangy taste of Miracle Whip for mine

No gurl... just no.

by Anonymousreply 30February 24, 2021 7:42 PM

Tuna (water-packed and drained); lemon juice; Duke's mayonnaise; red onion or scallion (chopped fine); Jamaican curry powder.

by Anonymousreply 31February 24, 2021 7:43 PM

R15 made me laugh.

Wouldn’t lemon juice make the mayo curdle? I’ve made tuna with both but not at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 32February 24, 2021 7:44 PM

R15, I stopped reading when you advised mixing tuna with fruit-flavored yogurt. Ick.

by Anonymousreply 33February 24, 2021 7:44 PM

Lemon juice and mayonnaise won't make a mess if you mix the juice into the tuna first.

by Anonymousreply 34February 24, 2021 7:50 PM

Why were you raised in a margarine bowl, R29?

by Anonymousreply 35February 24, 2021 7:54 PM

No garlic ever!!!

by Anonymousreply 36February 24, 2021 7:56 PM

Lemon juice does not curdle mayonnaise.

by Anonymousreply 37February 24, 2021 8:05 PM

Tastes and smells like pussy, no thanks

by Anonymousreply 38February 24, 2021 8:21 PM

I like to chop a couple bread and butter pickle chips into my tuna/chicken salad

by Anonymousreply 39February 24, 2021 8:33 PM

You want to rinse the tuna in the lemon juice. Then you rinse out the lemon juice. It gets rid of the overly fishy and canned taste. Then you add the celery, carrots, green onions, sweet relish, mayo (I like Best Foods but there are a growing number who like Kewpie) and some even like to add one hard boiled egg, but I skip that.

by Anonymousreply 40February 24, 2021 8:55 PM

Take out the garlic (blech) add a dollop of dijon mustard and the rest of the recipe is fine except I've never made four cans of tuna at once. Two cans is about right and adjust the other amounts.

by Anonymousreply 41February 24, 2021 8:57 PM

What can I use in place of relish?

by Anonymousreply 42February 24, 2021 9:12 PM

A chopped up pickle, R42. Maybe capers.

by Anonymousreply 43February 24, 2021 9:14 PM

It's sweet relish so sweet pickles. If you want a less sweet taste, just chopped up pickles.

by Anonymousreply 44February 24, 2021 9:15 PM

This looks bland and underwhelming. I like tarragon, finely diced white onion and red chili flake in my tuna salad (along with Mayo- Kewpie or McCormick -Mexican, lime based).

by Anonymousreply 45February 24, 2021 9:17 PM

Dash of cayenne makes almost everything taste better.

by Anonymousreply 46February 24, 2021 9:23 PM

[quote]They also say "delish."

Most enthusiastically when talking about "veggies."

by Anonymousreply 48February 24, 2021 9:30 PM

R47- Fraus also say- Sinfully Delicious

by Anonymousreply 49February 24, 2021 10:19 PM

[quote]It gets rid of the overly fishy and canned taste.

You do realize that tuna is fish, right? Is it supposed to taste like filet mignon?

by Anonymousreply 50February 24, 2021 11:05 PM

I hope R15 is trolling.

by Anonymousreply 51February 24, 2021 11:43 PM

I hope R15 is eating some of Mom's Tuna Surprise or rather, Surprising Tuna.

He deserves it.

by Anonymousreply 52February 25, 2021 1:14 AM

[quote]I hope R15 is eating some of Mom's Tuna Surprise or rather, Surprising Tuna.

With extra mini-marshmallows!

Like everyone here is saying, only fraus use words like "Heaven" to describe shit. I'm betting the OP is the author of the blog or one of her "team", to drive traffic to her site. I know because my annoying sister-in-law is a food blogger and she does the same shit,

by Anonymousreply 54February 25, 2021 5:33 AM

We know, dears. OP was being sarcastic with the frau speak. We've been doing it here for eras.
