Who killed JonBenet Ramsey?

It's been almost 25 years.

Who actually killed her?

by N. Hollowayreply 150a day ago

Why isn't "A Foreign Faction" in that poll???

by N. Hollowayreply 1Last Tuesday at 6:44 AM

The last book in the list, by a detective on the case, may answer it.

Read Kolar's Foreign Faction. He explains everything. For so long I assumed it was the mother, but I couldn't understand why the father didn't just dump her and drop a dime. How wrong I was.

by N. Hollowayreply 5Last Tuesday at 6:49 AM

Datalounge is the corner of the internet where regardless of whether she was done in by a small, foreign faction or a perverted intruder, we all understand that the pint-sized harlot had it coming.

by N. Hollowayreply 6Last Tuesday at 6:54 AM

She died?

by N. Hollowayreply 7Last Tuesday at 6:56 AM

It was a tragic, well, do we call it an accident? Her little brother killed her in a rage, and her parents, having just lost one child, didn’t want to lose the other as well.

by N. Hollowayreply 8Last Tuesday at 6:58 AM

By the way, by “little” I don’t mean younger—I mean, also very young, a minor.

by N. Hollowayreply 9Last Tuesday at 6:58 AM

most experts feel the daddy did it accidentally during sex play....

by N. Hollowayreply 10Last Tuesday at 6:59 AM

No they don’t.

by N. Hollowayreply 11Last Tuesday at 7:14 AM

I’m going to tell you now, so I don’t have to tell you later....

by N. Hollowayreply 12Last Tuesday at 7:18 AM

OMG, r2; any list that includes the self-serving books by her parents is a dopey list.

The missing book is "A Mother Gone Bad," title taken from Patsy's softball team named "Mothers Gone Bad." (And take a sec to think about THAT.)

The gist: Patsy---

through her previously-known lexicon and syntax as written in letters, cards, notes, etc.;

through her facial expressions, gestures, and words in post-murder interviews;

through her known and on-going, cross-country struggle with cancer and its own jargon;

through her known affinity for certain habits, penchants, idiosyncrasies, and demands;

and through her known beauty pageant past and her involvement of her daughter in that lifestyle---

can be deduced, using the logic inherent to psychology, as the killer of Jon Benet Ramsay.

The "ransom letter" is the Rosetta Stone.

by N. Hollowayreply 13Last Tuesday at 7:39 AM

i chose "other"

by N. Hollowayreply 14Last Tuesday at 7:44 AM

best podcasts ive seen say dad did it. he was known to be good at knots tying and liked sex play.

by N. Hollowayreply 15Last Tuesday at 7:49 AM

There were injuries to her vagina some were in the process of healing and others more recent. Patsy didn't do that.

by N. Hollowayreply 16Last Tuesday at 7:50 AM

Patsy wrote the ransom letter, I have no doubt about that, but I am certain it's because she figured out her husband did it and was covering for him.

If Patsy had committed the murder, John would have turned her in within seconds, probably would have turned Burke in, too.

by N. Hollowayreply 17Last Tuesday at 7:51 AM

Wow. we've never done this before OP. How refreshing.

by N. Hollowayreply 18Last Tuesday at 8:24 AM

Tragically, children get murdered every day in the US. Why was this case such a media sensation?

by N. Hollowayreply 19Last Tuesday at 8:27 AM

All the great pageant video of the victim, plus the suspects are white and wealthy. Plus the police screw ups.

by N. Hollowayreply 20Last Tuesday at 8:33 AM

Accidents happen, just remember that folks! 🤡

by N. Hollowayreply 21Last Tuesday at 8:33 AM

[quote]There were injuries to her vagina some were in the process of healing and others more recent. Patsy didn't do that.

I didn't?

by N. Hollowayreply 22Last Tuesday at 8:35 AM

It wasn’t the murder itself, r19. It was the continuing mystery about what happened, and the inability to penetrate the bizarre coverup.

99.99% of the child murders in the US are as obvious as the nose on SJP’s face.

by N. Hollowayreply 23Last Tuesday at 8:42 AM

Didn't the city clear Burke and both parents after DNA testing in 2008? John had an older daughter (from his first marriage) who said that he was a good father. Burke seems like he was too small at that time to have the strength or knowledge to commit the murder in the way it was committed.

A lot of people are hung up on the ransom note, which was a weird note, but a federal court ruled that Patsy did not write it, based on the testimony of experts.

by N. Hollowayreply 24Last Tuesday at 8:42 AM

If you watch the best ones on u tube bout this, it seems the dad did it and went too far with his sex play with her, but patsy did indeed write the note, no doubt bout tht. burke is just a bit....on the spectrum.

by N. Hollowayreply 25Last Tuesday at 8:46 AM

She wasn't sexually abused before her death, either long-term or immediately before her death. Someone wanted to make it appear she had been. However, if she had been sexually assaulted there would have been plenty of DNA evidence on her body.

Read Foreign Faction.

by N. Hollowayreply 26Last Tuesday at 8:47 AM

The cellar window that the "intruder" allegedly used to gain access to the house was broken from the inside and not the outside. If you've ever watched Forensic Files, when the cops see this they immediately drag the homeowner down to the station for an interrogation. Of course, because the Ramseys were rich and prominent, this didn't happen.

I think the only reason the parents collude is to protect their son. If your spouse kills one of your children, why protect them? You'd live in fear for the rest of your life for the safety of the remaining child.

[quote] Tragically, children get murdered every day in the US. Why was this case such a media sensation?

The parents did the ridiculous cover-up, somehow thinking that CO was going to send their 8 year old son to jail for accidentally clubbing his sister to death. But we all saw that the Ramsey's were capable to all kinds of stupid decisions.

by N. Hollowayreply 51Last Tuesday at 1:54 PM

That house was peak 90s frau. God, it was hideous. Crammed full of horrid decor, very overdone.

by N. Hollowayreply 52Last Tuesday at 1:58 PM

Fun DL Trivia - The attorney who represented Burke in his unsuccessful defamation lawsuit was Lin Wood, who recently would go on to nationally spout crazy pro-Trump election conspiracy theories.

by N. Hollowayreply 53Last Tuesday at 2:03 PM

"It had to be either John or Patsy."

Or Burke or an intruder.

by N. Hollowayreply 54Last Tuesday at 5:52 PM

Burke (on Dr. Phil) was fishy as hell.

John did not love Patsy, he had contempt for her. It was obvious from the body language in the interviews.

I do think Patsy wrote the War and Peace ransom note.

Who killed JB? I don't know.

by N. Hollowayreply 79Last Wednesday at 7:55 AM

Thanks, R76. I read that autopsy, but I wouldn't conclude that there was no sexual trauma. The autopsy contains a long paragraph describing different things re: genitalia (hyperemia and abrasion). Autopsy did conclude that there was no anal & perineal trauma.

I won't quote the whole long paragraph here.

by N. Hollowayreply 80Last Wednesday at 7:56 AM

Burke had a secret retarded twin brother, Lurke, who'd often break out of his attic room and cause mischief.

by N. Hollowayreply 81Last Wednesday at 7:58 AM

Burke was only eight years old at the time, he couldn't have been prosecuted. Why would John and Patsy need to protect him?

by N. Hollowayreply 82Last Wednesday at 8:16 AM

If it had come out that Burke had done it, his life would be ruined, regardless of rehabilitation in psychiatric care. He'd have been infamous for having been found officially to have killed his sister; even worse after the story blew up. I think the parents wouldn't have been able to tolerate that blemish on his and their names.

by N. Hollowayreply 83Last Wednesday at 8:20 AM

It's not unheard of for women to protect their partners after they murdered their child. If John went to prison his older children would have taken every penny he had. Patsy would lose her money and social status.

by N. Hollowayreply 84Last Wednesday at 8:23 AM

Also, you really don't know what might have happened to Burke. There's no lower age limit on incarcerating someone. Yes, 8 is very low, but IIRC, 13-year-olds have been prosecuted as adults and put in prison. Star Jones bragged about doing that.

by N. Hollowayreply 85Last Wednesday at 8:23 AM

Exactly R83. I’ve read so many stories about how the mother was way into her reputation and social status.

by N. Hollowayreply 86Last Wednesday at 8:25 AM

Good points, r83 and r84. Patsy was so obsessed with her social status and position she would've done anything to keep it. It was really the most important thing in her life.

by N. Hollowayreply 87Last Wednesday at 8:27 AM

by N. Hollowayreply 90Last Wednesday at 12:06 PM

Whichever one of them actually killed her, they all knew about it. John probably devised the garrote, and Patsy wrote the note.

by N. Hollowayreply 91Last Wednesday at 12:48 PM

r85 Burke was under 10 in Colorado at that time and couldn't have been prosecuted for anything. Some states have no age of accountability, some it's 12, some 8, etc.

I wonder if she had a nickname, or if they always called her JonBenet.

by N. Hollowayreply 94Last Wednesday at 1:15 PM

I'm trying to find a description of when her body was discovered. How did Patsy react?

by N. Hollowayreply 95Last Wednesday at 2:22 PM

Patsy popped a bottle of bubbly.

by N. Hollowayreply 96Last Wednesday at 2:46 PM

"Burke was under 10 in Colorado at that time"

Was he older in another state?

by N. Hollowayreply 97Last Wednesday at 3:00 PM

[quote] I'm trying to find a description of when her body was discovered. How did Patsy react?

R95, police allowed the Ramseys to take part in a search of the house (for JB's body). On top of that, John, upon finding body in the basement, picked up the body and brought it upstairs, thus disturbing the crime scene. Not sure how Patsy reacted.

The cops were out of their depth and just plain dumb at times.

Offsite Link
by N. Hollowayreply 98Last Wednesday at 3:34 PM

What in the hell was up with that suitcase that was found in the basement? The one containing a blanket and a Dr. Seuss book. The blanket had seminal fluid on it which was identified as belonging to John's eldest son, John Andrew.

by N. Hollowayreply 99Last Wednesday at 5:37 PM

I think the brother did it accidentally, don't think he meant to kill her. He was pissed she snatched a piece of pineapple from his bowl so he took the flashlight and smacked her over the head. He told the parents what happened, they couldn't rouse her, they feared for their son, so they staged the "kidnapping" to coverup for Burke. The agony of it all drove Patsy to an early grave.

by N. Hollowayreply 100Last Wednesday at 5:46 PM

I don't think it was Burke. If it was, we never would have heard about this case, the police would have kept it quiet to protect a prominent family and Burke would have gone to therapy, that would be it.

On one of the many, many JonBenet threads someone laid out a convincing argument for the father being the killer.

by N. Hollowayreply 101Last Wednesday at 5:47 PM

The brother killed her and the parents panicked, fearing for their family's reputation.

The dad staged it to look like a break in and sexual assault while the mom wrote the ransom letter.

Then the parents put up with all the speculative accusations towards themselves all those years to protect their son, and also they were invested in their story. They must've realized all their dumb cover-up mistakes very quickly, but it was too late to admit the truth. They were very shallow and vapid people obsessed with their image and status.

by N. Hollowayreply 102Last Wednesday at 5:49 PM

The detective said the deadline in the ransom note came and went and the parents never noticed? She said John was "cordial." They split up to search the four-story house and John went right for the storage room where she was "discovered."

by N. Hollowayreply 103Last Wednesday at 5:49 PM

It was Antifa and the radical left.

by N. Hollowayreply 104Last Wednesday at 5:51 PM

r101 must have meant that we never would have heard about this case, if John and Patsy had done the sensible thing and taken their daughter to the hospital and explained Burke's accidental outburst on Christmas Eve. But they worried about the gossip in the community and instead staged an elaborate cover-up that exploded into worldwide attention.

by N. Hollowayreply 105Last Wednesday at 6:08 PM

If Burke did it, how could a little boy have not told anyone? He was questioned by police.

by N. Hollowayreply 106Last Wednesday at 6:10 PM

^ His parents warned him to never tell.

by N. Hollowayreply 107Last Wednesday at 6:12 PM

It was the brother.

The crazy mother obviously wrote the note.

If it was one of the parents they would have turned on each other.

The thing I don't get though is the elaborately staged crime scene.

There was some sick stuff going on in that house.

by N. Hollowayreply 108Last Wednesday at 6:18 PM

John and Pasty were in separate rooms the whole morning which isn't typical behavior for parents of a missing child. When the body was discovered everybody ran to where John had placed it under the Christmas tree. Except Patsy who didn't get up from her chair and had to coaxed out by a friend. When Patsy saw the body she gave quite a performance, dropping to her knees and screaming "Please God, you raised Jesus! Raise my baby from the dead!"

by N. Hollowayreply 111Last Wednesday at 6:41 PM

Yes, in addition to moving the body, I think the Ramseys put a blanket on the body as well. Totally contaminated the evidence. Cops allowed them to do all that.

The poor kid should have been playing with toys and rolling in the dirt instead of sitting still for hours while her mother treated her as a doll and forced her to play dress up and have make-up applied to her face.

by N. Hollowayreply 122Last Thursday at 7:28 AM

It's surprising that the dads (John R.) of these pageant girls don't put a stop to it. My guess is that John had his own life, maybe a woman on the side, and wasn't paying that much attention to Patsy. Patsy maybe felt entitled to have this hobby of dressing up JB and parading her around, due to John being absentee, etc.

by N. Hollowayreply 123Last Thursday at 7:32 AM

by N. Hollowayreply 128Last Thursday at 8:50 AM

Regarding the pageants, Patsy was raised in the same way, on the pageant circuit. From the one book I read on the case, it sounded like Patsy's mother was batshit. It was impossible to have a back and forth linear conversation with her. She just went into rants that may/may not have had anything to do with the proposed questions.

by N. Hollowayreply 129Last Thursday at 9:02 AM

R128 Linda Hoffman Pugh was quoted in ‘Perfect Murder Perfect Town’ as saying she always had to wipe peanut butter off the counters when she arrived on Monday mornings to clean. Who cares? She'd be way too old for the pageant circuit now anyway!

by N. Hollowayreply 136Last Thursday at 12:27 PM

Pageants should be outlawed for girls under 14 (high school age). Pageants are for mothers to compete with each other while living vicariously through their children. The children are likely bored out of their minds. All the pageant training, and getting dressed and made-up wastes to much time. It cuts into play time and socialization time, but it also cuts into school and study time. It's a horrible lesson to teach little girls that they should focus on their looks above all else.

by N. Hollowayreply 137Last Thursday at 12:48 PM

Given that the crime has never been officially solved. Will the police open a cold case review?

by N. Hollowayreply 139Last Thursday at 1:00 PM

by N. Hollowayreply 140Last Thursday at 1:01 PM

A prosecutor formally exonerated the Ramseys & even apologized to them. There was criticism:

[quote] Former Adams County DA Bob Grant, one of a number of consultants on the case brought in early on by the Boulder County DA at the time, Hunter, told ABC News he was confounded by Lacy's 2008 decision. "This is craziness," he said. "This is not what prosecutors do. If prosecutors are going to exonerate someone they do it by charging someone else."

This exonerating prosecutor sounds slightly nutty:

[quote] "Here’s what I was doing with the exoneration letter," Lacy explained. "I was trying to prevent a horrible travesty of justice. I was scared to death that despite the fact that there was no evidence, no psychopathy and no motive, the case was a train going down the track and the Ramseys were tied to that track."

I didn't realise their house was so huge!

R142 i was surprised at the square footage.

As an aside, John thought it was a violation of privacy that the local paper printed, in the real estate transactions section, how much they had paid for that house.

I don’t think John’s life is so charmed these days.

Did John have a man on the side or was he strictly hetero?

That house would have been a nightmare to clean!

^i think the housekeeper came in 3 days a week. Plus, she snd herfamily helped on other occasions. I know Patsy had them bring the Christmas trees from the basement on Thanksgiving weekend in 1996

Patsy seemed to behave, dress, decorate etc. in the manner she 'thought' rich people lived, with little class or genuine style and taste of her own? Small town social climbing frau, no?

R134 I've always thought that someone should do a doc on teenage and older girls that had gone through the circuit. What was their perspective on things once they had some time away from it?

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Don't you just LOVE clicking on these things on every single site you visit? I know we do! You can thank the EU parliament for making everyone in the world click on these pointless things while changing absolutely nothing. If you are interested you can take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT and we'll set a dreaded cookie to make it go away. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
