We had them back for one brief shining moment last week sometime, wasn't it? (time blurs when you are old) and then with very few exceptions it's back to shit. WHY?

Also, look at the toolbar on your browser. I have Firefox. There's a little icon next to the padlock. Click on it. That has a list of all the sites that are now tracking you (due to you having to click on links instead of see them as you scroll). This is intentional. You can X out the sites so they can't track you any more, but you'll have to keep doing it.

IMO, the sites (Twitter, Daily Mail) that you can see previews have a deal with DL for that. Daily Mail links used to be F'd up, not anymore. Guess why. Also, suddenly, seems like you can link to CNN as well.

My thread watcher is working fine. I'm on Firefox. My advice is to not close down a window too soon after clicking the eye icon. It needs time to "sink in" that you want to watch that thread.

I have more problems un-watching a thread. Same solution, don't close the window down until it has time to sink in that you don't want to watch the thread any more.

It takes a while for preferences and such to save. If you ever go out to un-ignore someone, it can take 2-3 minutes before it finally goes through, and your browser is locked up while you're waiting. I suspect the thread watcher is the same, sometimes you can watch a thread and then if you close your DL tab "too soon" it hasn't saved that preference.

So if you use ImgBB to upload your own photos to link here, is a cyber trail created that will allow all manner of advertisers, delightful DLers, and assorted creeps and nuts to track you down?

Muriel's ever-present green framed OFF SITE IMAGE has finally killed off this moribund site.

They worked for a while a couple of weeks ago, and there was much joy (our first mistake), then, back to next to nothing. Some work now but most don't, but for those brief exultant days (hours?) they seemed to work for everything. It really does ruin the flow and the experience.

Sadly, I think this website is dying. Look at the right bottom corner of your screen. It says copyrighted 1995-2019 by Mediapolis. Nobody has bothered to update that since 2019.
