Were/are you a fan? She was historically on crack while making it, and basically went into a years-long series of legal battles and drug rehabs only days after it was released. Her re-recording session took place in a French chateau, where she later admitted she basically went to do drugs. Her boyfriend at the time, a manager of sorts, was a "co-producer". The album overall is far below the fairly high lyrical standards she established for herself with her output in Hole—a lot of the album is really tacky and nonsensical, and half of the time she sounds borderline incoherent, but I think there are some gems there. "Never Gonna Be the Same" is pretty, and the lead single, "Mono", was sort of fun. If anything, it's an oddity.

Half of the songs were actually pretty good. They captured the feeling of doing too much cocaine.

The illustration is, shall we say, EXTREMELY flattering.
