500,000 dead from COVID in the US

Will deplorables finally agree COVID is real?

by Anonymousreply 46February 24, 2021 12:13 PM

OP if you go to a red state you will still find many people not wearing masks, not social distancing, anti-shutdown and still believing it's a hoax

Florida, Texas, Kentucky, South Dakota etc...

these fucking morons are going to keep new variants forming

by Anonymousreply 1February 21, 2021 8:12 PM

No, they just say the dead were old and/or in ill health, and would have died anyway.

by Anonymousreply 2February 21, 2021 8:13 PM

The true death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in the United States is massively higher than the mere data from those who died COVID-19 positive, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Data shows excess deaths in the past year to be approaching 600,000, which takes the number of people who die from any cause in a given region and period and then compares it with a baseline from recent years.

by Anonymousreply 3February 21, 2021 8:13 PM

It's probably around a million deaths.

by Anonymousreply 4February 21, 2021 8:15 PM

At least half of the deaths can be laid on the lying Trump and its sycophants.

by Anonymousreply 5February 21, 2021 8:16 PM

[quote] Will deplorables finally agree COVID is real?

They are not exactly the most fact based of people, OP.

by Anonymousreply 6February 21, 2021 8:21 PM

Honey we all know COVID is real but I still have former co-workers (engineers at that) who I see maskless on social media in Texas. What happens is a collective mentality...sure, people smart enough to become IT engineers understand COVID but the environment they live in is a huge influence.

by Anonymousreply 7February 21, 2021 8:29 PM

1) they say there are no deaths from COVID-19 but rather all those people died of heart attacks, diabetes, etc.

2) soon they will say COVID-19 deaths are Biden's fault

3) 1 and 2 will be said at the same time with a straight face

by Anonymousreply 8February 21, 2021 8:30 PM

You're under the delusion that one day they might actually give a fuck.

by Anonymousreply 9February 21, 2021 8:31 PM

All you panicky neurotic bitches are going to wear masks for the rest of your fear-drenched lives, vaccine or no vaccine. You repulse me.

by Anonymousreply 10February 21, 2021 8:32 PM

You look prettier in a mask, R10. Wear one.

by Anonymousreply 11February 21, 2021 8:34 PM

R11 I am in no danger from Covid and I live in a country where all the over 70s and the truly vulnerable with pre-existing morbidities have now been vaccinated. It's time to drop the mask. I yearn to breathe free. They don't work anyway, for goodness sake.

by Anonymousreply 12February 21, 2021 8:37 PM

It isn’t about being neurotic, it’s about slowing the spread and protecting others, you worthless cunt at R10.

by Anonymousreply 13February 21, 2021 8:38 PM

Actually, I hope to stop wearing masks in 2022. Go to hell, R10. Prick.

by Anonymousreply 14February 21, 2021 8:38 PM

One more time, R12. You look prettier in a mask; wear one for us.

by Anonymousreply 15February 21, 2021 8:38 PM

R14 You are the quintessential neurotic panicky bitch. Why don't you just stay home hiding under your bed? Wait - what am I saying? You probably already do.

by Anonymousreply 16February 21, 2021 8:42 PM

"At least half of the deaths can be laid on the lying Trump and its sycophants."

Never mind Trump, he's out of office.

The other half are attributable to mass murderer Andrew Cuomo, who must be put to death immediately.

by Anonymousreply 17February 21, 2021 8:46 PM

Morbidly obese fattards are going to die prematurely anyway.

All the roads of obesity always lead to untimely deaths, c'est la vie, it is what it is.

by Anonymousreply 18February 21, 2021 9:10 PM

What about me?

by Anonymousreply 19February 21, 2021 9:28 PM

Where is that, R12?

Or are you too busy licking the cum out of your mother's gash to tell us?

/slurp slurp slurp

by Anonymousreply 20February 21, 2021 9:34 PM

R8 This last month has shown that Biden wouldn't have done anything differently. In fact, Biden and Harris went on record telling the American people they wouldn't trust a vaccine developed under the Trump administration, called travel restrictions racist before changing their mind and saying they didn't go far enough, told us to listen to science even when we were told not to wear masks, were told to go to Chinatown even though the virus had already been out for months by then.

Then they have the gall to criticize Trump for downplaying the virus several months later. CNN got rid of their death toll counter the minute Biden was inaugurated. I guess the fact that 100,000 deaths under his watch wouldn't look too good and expose Biden for not having a plan. Mask mandates are not enforced. California has essentially locked down yet has experienced worse infection rates. I guess those people living here must be too dumb to use the internet.

by Anonymousreply 21February 21, 2021 9:46 PM

Rush Limbaugh would be proud that his brand of half-truths, obfuscations and outright lies has outlived him.

by Anonymousreply 22February 21, 2021 9:51 PM

R22 Also did not denounce the BLM riots over the summer, which in addition to contributing to the spread, was bad for optics. People started relaxing their standards after that.

by Anonymousreply 23February 21, 2021 9:59 PM

R21. Thank you Marjorie Taylor Greene. Trump deserves to be criticized. In fact, Trump should be charged with manslaughter for lying and mismanaging the entire pandemic. And by the way, California is not in a lockdown. I live in California. Almost everything is open. The Repigs want to call it a lockdown so that they can slam Gov. Newsom, but it's not a lockdown by any means. Yes, restaurants are closed for indoor dining, but some have reopened with limited capacity and outdoor dining is back where possible. And most communities are putting plans together to open schools. But no one is "locked down." The arts and entertainment industry and gyms are is suffering (but many gyms are operating outdoors where possible), but as we saw this past fall, football had spectators albeit limited. But by and large, everything else is open. And the reason there was a spike in California is due to that very reason--business are mostly open and operating. If we were truly in a lockdown, the virus would be more contained, but no one stays the fuck home. In addition, virus rates and deaths are dropping in California significantly because California has had a very successful vaccine rollout program.

by Anonymousreply 24February 21, 2021 10:16 PM

"Also did not denounce the BLM riots over the summer, which in addition to contributing to the spread, was bad for optics."

Link please for this alleged spread, otherwise you're just pulling shit out of your prolapsed hole.

And for whom was this bad optics? Old, fat, entitled racist assholes like you and Donald Trump and the Republican party?

by Anonymousreply 25February 21, 2021 10:23 PM

[quote]In fact, Biden and Harris went on record telling the American people they wouldn't trust a vaccine developed under the Trump administration

Odd, I quite clearly recall both of them saying they would trust any vaccine developed by the Trump administration as long as it was vouched for by Tony Fauci, a member of the Trump administration’s COVID response team.

by Anonymousreply 26February 21, 2021 10:29 PM

If I were running things rat-licking covidiots like R10 would be forced to dig mass graves at gunpoint.

Sadly I'm not running things, and they're free to shit disinformation all over the internets.

by Anonymousreply 27February 21, 2021 10:38 PM

Republicans just love making shit up to make their points. They don't understand needing to lie means you have no point.

They don’t care. Trump showed them that if you lie loudly and repeatedly, you can get virtually half the country to believe you, all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.

by Anonymousreply 31February 22, 2021 12:44 AM

AP: President Joe Biden will mark the U.S. crossing 500,000 lives lost from COVID-19 with a moment of silence and candle lighting ceremony at the White House. The White House said Biden will deliver remarks at sunset to honor those who lost their lives.

by Anonymousreply 32February 22, 2021 12:56 PM

I hope that enough people get vaccinated by end of 2022 so we can stop wearing masks. But, for that, we need 70% herd immunity according to Fauci and with all the anti-vaxxers good luck. Still, this shit has to end at one point because I honestly think people will stop complying. Here in Europe, there is a report of how many partied were broken up each weekend (200 this weekend in and around Madrid).

by Anonymousreply 33February 22, 2021 8:51 PM

Deplorables argue the lock-down was for NOTHING - as 500K is not even 1% of the population

by Anonymousreply 34February 22, 2021 8:53 PM

Deplorables will admit CV19 is real as soon as Regressives admit human biology is real, which is to say never.

Both far fringes are entrenched in dogmatic science denial that is killing vulnerable people.

by Anonymousreply 35February 22, 2021 8:57 PM

R22’s posting history outs her as a Freeper. F&F them.

by Anonymousreply 36February 22, 2021 9:27 PM

A friend recently flew to Florida to see his family and was shocked that the state is acting like Covid doesn’t exist.

No one is wearing masks. Restaurants, bars, clubs are all packed.

by Anonymousreply 37February 23, 2021 3:33 AM

R37 Yes, and they have the same infection rate and death rate as California, which locked down. Does that not tell you Church of Covid obsessives anything? WAKE UP

by Anonymousreply 38February 23, 2021 7:45 PM

MAGATs / conservatives and especially windbags like Limbaugh and his former followers are irredeemable mentally ill scum. No sympathy for them, ever. Die, cunts.

by Anonymousreply 39February 24, 2021 4:45 AM

The real numbers put it in perspective. Like most flus, it attacked ill and/or old people.

They're going to find out everyone has had it, or a mutant strain strain or variant- and some several times. And most had mild-to-no symptoms.

So was it worth shutting down the economy? Closing schools? We shall see...

by Anonymousreply 40February 24, 2021 6:26 AM

Regardless of the data that is received after the fact, yes, it was worth it to shut down schools and the economy.

Remember, this was a new novel virus. Hospitals in other countries were overrun. Nobody knew for sure what was going to happen here, so I don’t fault anyone for erring on the side of caution.

Virtually every other country in the world had some form of lockdown because of it. Can you imagine if we didn’t and the death toll was 1 million right now?

Or, you’d have people screaming “500,000 dead! Why didn’t we lock down like other countries?!!”

Hindsight is and always will be 20/20.

This is a test of the Darwinian theory. This is only a test.

by Anonymousreply 42February 24, 2021 11:57 AM

It is criminal that the FDA is not allowing the people administering the vaccine to use up the entire vial of vaccine. When they give a shot whatever is left in the vial is tossed out. Rather than drawn into the next hypodermic syringe and topped off by the next vial. Millions of good doses are being trashed due to this stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 43February 24, 2021 12:02 PM

The FDA says pharmacists and other clinicians cannot pool leftover Covid-19 vaccine because neither Moderna's nor Pfizer's products contain preservatives, which help stop microbial growth in case the vaccine is contaminated with bacteria or other germs.

"This is an infection control measure," an FDA spokeswoman said in a statement. "Cross-contamination of multidose medications through the use of the same needle and syringe has occurred with other medications when this practice was utilized, causing serious bacterial infections. If one vial becomes contaminated, this practice can spread contamination to the others, prolonging presence of the pathogen and increasing the potential for disease transmission."

by Anonymousreply 44February 24, 2021 12:09 PM

That’s why Biden enacted the DPA to help get syringes that will alleviate that problem.
