Pia Zadora will be presenting the award for New Star of the Year to JoJo Siwa.

|by Anonymous||reply 2||02/21/2021|
These awards aren’t woke enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||02/21/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 4||02/21/2021|
Who says they're not woke enough?

|by Anonymous||reply 5||02/21/2021|
if spike lee wins much i will kick my tv in.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||02/21/2021|
These two overrated has beens hosting? No thanks.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||02/21/2021|
r6 He and his film didn't even get nominated. He must be so mad that his kids agreed to be the guides or whatever they now call what used to be Miss Golden Globes.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||02/21/2021|
Golden Globes Ambassadors.
Spike's son joins the short list of male Golden Globes Ambassadors - Pierce Brosnan's two sons, Michael J. Fox's son, Lorenzo Lamas' son, Clark Gable's son and Freddie Prinze Jr.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||02/21/2021|
Spike's daughter is quite pretty.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||02/21/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 11||02/21/2021|
r11 that is the whole idea of Miss Golden Globes/Ambassadors. They are all second generation "actors,"
Pretty rare that any of them actually get a career though.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/21/2021|
Since so many of the nominees will be home for this, does that mean they'll be more buzzed than usual for the globes?
|by Anonymous||reply 13||02/27/2021|
Who will be presenting
|by Anonymous||reply 14||02/27/2021|
Sounds awkward and boring. It needs Ricky Gervais. And is there much interest in the nominated films and performances? Like the Super Bowl, I predict low viewership.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||02/27/2021|
A bicoastal ceremony, R13??? Oh my Lord, my pastor warned me about them bicoastal people. Their livin' there lives in sin, not obeyin' the rules laid out in the Bible. God made Charleston and Charlotte, not Charleston and San Francisco. Help them, Jesus!
Now if you'll excuse me I gots ta pick up Ashneigh, Teafanny, Madysynn, K-Leigh and Palyn from pole dancing practice. My girls are gonna be awesome cheerleaders!
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/27/2021|
Who will win Best Actress in a comedy?
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/27/2021|
R17 Anybody but Rosamund Pike is fine with me.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||02/27/2021|
Why not Pikey?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/27/2021|
R19 Her performance is one note. I generally like her but hated her and more so the film so much.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/27/2021|
I cannot stand Tina and Amy, neither are funny
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/28/2021|
This Boston U film student is livestreaming his predictions and reactions. Damn, he’s cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||02/28/2021|
Is this also the thread for the shitty virtual red carpet?
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/28/2021|
Bob “Better Call Saul” Odenkirk just dissed my tv husband Jason Bateman by fawning over his other fellow nominees and completely ignoring JB. Hope that means JB wins even if these awards are a joke.
In other news, Ghouliana is wearing a ratty weave and a reject from the Showgirls costume vault.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/28/2021|
R15, I doubt that. I think the ratings will be big. There’s a huge demand for shit like this after what we’ve been through.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||02/28/2021|
The BU kid is swearing up and down that Boseman is sweeping tonight and winning Best Actor at the Oscars. He admits he hasn’t seen The Father yet. I have and there’s no fucking way Hopkins loses over Boseman.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/28/2021|
This red carpet is one big Debbie Downer.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/28/2021|
I love Jane Lynch hosting!
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/28/2021|
The black hostess is from “This is Us.” She’s a strong actress. But is she pregnant or just fat in the belly?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/28/2021|
Is this the official watch thread?
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/28/2021|
Laverne Cox would gp the the opening of a tampon
|by Anonymous||reply 32||02/28/2021|
I’ve loved the deft takedowns that Fey and Poehler have handed the Hollywood elite at previous GGs. I’m ready again for some more.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/28/2021|
R33 = DJT
|by Anonymous||reply 34||02/28/2021|
Trying to be helpful, I made a thread directing people to this thread.
Now watch, the fucking twats will start posting in THAT thread.
Thanks for starting this OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||02/28/2021|
Yawn. Are there actually still media that people watch and that its participants win awards for? Bye..
|by Anonymous||reply 36||02/28/2021|
Enough for you to comment r36
|by Anonymous||reply 37||02/28/2021|
So has this thing started and it's too boring to comment on, or are we still waiting?
I am imbibing so if I make no sense I apologize in advance.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/28/2021|
R38, it starts in 12 minutes! Everybody get prepared to get naked,
|by Anonymous||reply 39||02/28/2021|
I'm ready to be underwhelmed.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||02/28/2021|
From the coverage it looks like there are no movie stars.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||02/28/2021|
R32 = LITERAL VIOLENCE!
|by Anonymous||reply 42||02/28/2021|
Tina and Amy... who interesting
|by Anonymous||reply 43||02/28/2021|
Yummy gams Tina
|by Anonymous||reply 44||02/28/2021|
Did some BDSM freak design Amy's outfit?
|by Anonymous||reply 45||02/28/2021|
Well, they’re not treating the Foreign Press with kid gloves.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||02/28/2021|
Crazy not one black person is on the HFPA
|by Anonymous||reply 47||02/28/2021|
Tina and Amy are lame I knew they would be.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||02/28/2021|
Ugh that nepotist cunt Laura Dern.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||02/28/2021|
OK, get to getting on the commentary please. I am relying on you witty bitches for my entertainment tonight as the TV is WAY too far away (next room) and I finally got comfortable, which at my age is a big fucking process.
Just you wait you little whippersnappers.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||02/28/2021|
No one clapped for Bill Murray?
|by Anonymous||reply 51||02/28/2021|
Turning it off. This is unbearable
|by Anonymous||reply 52||02/28/2021|
The only movie star is Covid chaser Margot Robbie.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||02/28/2021|
Jared Leto looks like he doesn’t even wanna be there
|by Anonymous||reply 54||02/28/2021|
Daniel definitely deserved his win!!! The performance was brilliant...as in one of the best I've seen in years.
PS: People should go back and watch Amy and Tina's previous GG opening monologues...they were brilliant. Tonight's sucked.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||02/28/2021|
Did they all change their votes to the blacks after the backlash? And why is everyone British???
|by Anonymous||reply 56||02/28/2021|
It's a mess
|by Anonymous||reply 57||02/28/2021|
I guess the NYT article where they said that if black nominees didn’t win, they’d be hell to pay had an effect.
|by Anonymous||reply 58||02/28/2021|
Turned away from the Jamaica guy with marbles in his mouth to "Theater of Blood" I recorded earlier. Diana Rigg and Vincent Price having a ball hamming it up.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||02/28/2021|
I’m sure John Boyega’s speech was wise and gracious but I only understood about five words.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||02/28/2021|
What the fuck is he saying???
|by Anonymous||reply 61||02/28/2021|
The Father? Never heard of it. What a strange show.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||02/28/2021|
Stella got her groove back in that purple gown. She looks amazing.
|by Anonymous||reply 63||02/28/2021|
I guess the NYT article where they said that if black nominees didn’t win, they’d be hell to pay had an effect.
And I guess this wouldn't be a Datalounge Award Show thread without someone eternally bitching about so many non-white winners.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||02/28/2021|
Kaluuya just killed his Oscar chances with that awful, unintelligible, self serving speech.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||02/28/2021|
R65 i don't know what the fuck that was. But he made an ass of himself
|by Anonymous||reply 66||02/28/2021|
It really is sad. I hate it when awards shows pander, but so far the best performances in their categories have won. Regardless, some bitter old white queens can't resist diminishing the talents of black men. Yikes.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||02/28/2021|
I can’t stand these zoom awards. It’s uncomfortable to watch. See ya next year
|by Anonymous||reply 68||02/28/2021|
Turn off the fucking phone. WTF
|by Anonymous||reply 69||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 70||02/28/2021|
This show is a disaster!
|by Anonymous||reply 71||02/28/2021|
R69, I think it was a bit. She was being played off.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||02/28/2021|
Daniel was brilliant in Judas. The Oscar voters won’t care about his accent.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||02/28/2021|
WTF was with the phone. Was that a gag or for real?
|by Anonymous||reply 74||02/28/2021|
What, Tiffiny Haddish still isn't over after her horrific performance in Good Times Live?
|by Anonymous||reply 75||02/28/2021|
I can't stand Tiffany Haddish...she's just way too much.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||02/28/2021|
Did they really think people were going to watch this shitshow?
|by Anonymous||reply 77||02/28/2021|
Wolf Walkers deserved the award.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||02/28/2021|
I’ll lie there with you, Yahya.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||02/28/2021|
Would someone please check in on Donald Sutherland and see if he's still breathing. TIA*
*thanks in advance, not the stroke.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||02/28/2021|
White people -- commence with the exploding heads!
|by Anonymous||reply 81||02/28/2021|
R73 I found the film slight.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||02/28/2021|
We're sorry. So sorry. Here are some awards for you. Will that make it better?
|by Anonymous||reply 83||02/28/2021|
It is what it is guys. Things should be back to normal on the next Globes in 022. Tina and Amy are pretty lame, but it’s better than just announcing the winners via press release.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||02/28/2021|
James Corden will be Zooming in from the toilet.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||02/28/2021|
I guess I have to watch Mank again to see if it's really that great. 20 minutes into it I had sufficient of Gary Oldman.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||02/28/2021|
What? Hugh was robbed!
|by Anonymous||reply 87||02/28/2021|
Ethan is not happy.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||02/28/2021|
During speeches, the photobombing is getting obnoxious.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||02/28/2021|
Ruff also was really good but man, that miniseries was a slog.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||02/28/2021|
Mark Ruffalo is annoying
|by Anonymous||reply 91||02/28/2021|
It appears Ruffalo is sitting on a toilet.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||02/28/2021|
I can’t wait to see Cynthia Erivo as Aretha.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||02/28/2021|
Cynthia Erivo looks like an Oompa Loompa.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||02/28/2021|
Mark Ruffalo is undeniably talented, but he seems so insufferable in real life.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||02/28/2021|
I’m not sure about that lurid green dress.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||02/28/2021|
Holy fuck what I wouldn't give to live in Aaron Sorkin's home. It's beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||02/28/2021|
I guess I have to watch Mank again to see if it's really that great. 20 minutes into it I had sufficient of Gary Oldman.
I watched to the end. The only part I enjoyed was the guy imitating Orson Welles. But not so entertaining as to have been worth the film's running time. Or some award.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||02/28/2021|
Mark Ruffalo is such a blowhard
|by Anonymous||reply 99||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 100||02/28/2021|
Mank was atrocious
|by Anonymous||reply 101||02/28/2021|
This comedy routine with Maya and Kenan is awful.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||02/28/2021|
Ugh...why did I know Fey and Poehler would shoehorn Maya Rudolph in here somewhere?
|by Anonymous||reply 103||02/28/2021|
This is painful.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||02/28/2021|
R87 all wonderful actors in that category, but Mark was amazing in the dual roles and he deserves every award for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||02/28/2021|
Ugh, the part of an awards show nobody ever asks for, but we're guaranteed to always get: Maya Rudolph and a fellow SNL alum in an overly long "comedy" routine.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||02/28/2021|
I knew the Maya troll would be here to trash her
|by Anonymous||reply 107||02/28/2021|
Mark Ruffalo was truly brilliant in his role, but the show itself was a bore.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||02/28/2021|
Horrible. I just switched to RHOA ,
|by Anonymous||reply 109||02/28/2021|
Mank's cinematography was beautiful...
|by Anonymous||reply 110||02/28/2021|
R107, I'm an unabashed Maya troll and without fail, several people beat me to the punch with far bitchier comments. Maybe she's not as beloved as you seem to think?
|by Anonymous||reply 111||02/28/2021|
west side story will win best picture
|by Anonymous||reply 112||02/28/2021|
R109, you forgot the D.
|by Anonymous||reply 113||02/28/2021|
I'm switching to Stanley Tucci at 9:00.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||02/28/2021|
I can't stand James Corden. I just wanted to say that.
|by Anonymous||reply 115||02/28/2021|
I just tuned in, no masks!
|by Anonymous||reply 116||02/28/2021|
Yikes, Spike's soon has some scary veneers.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||02/28/2021|
Fucked up having Spike Lee's kids Golden Globe ambassadors after completely snubbing his movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 118||02/28/2021|
Is Spike Lee's son gay ?
|by Anonymous||reply 119||02/28/2021|
Spike Lee's daughter and Woody Allen's son both named after Satchel Paige
|by Anonymous||reply 120||02/28/2021|
To any academy members watching this, don’t repeat this trainwreck. Also, don’t give Oscars to black people because they’re black. Just don’t.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||02/28/2021|
I renamed myself after Ronan Keating.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||02/28/2021|
Was Bonnie Franklin ignored in the Norman Lear tribute?
|by Anonymous||reply 123||02/28/2021|
Why was Norman Lear making that tribute to Carol Burnett?
|by Anonymous||reply 124||02/28/2021|
Until everyone can attend awards shows, I'm out. It's no fun if I can't gawk at what people are wearing.
|by Anonymous||reply 125||02/28/2021|
To any academy members watching this, don’t repeat this trainwreck. Also, don’t give Oscars to black people because they’re black. Just don’t.
Why not? We give Oscars to women just because they’re hot pretty much yearly.
|by Anonymous||reply 126||02/28/2021|
Was Bonnie Franklin ignored in the Norman Lear tribute?
No, there was a clip of her.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||02/28/2021|
I’m hoping Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor win. After their categories I’m done with this shitshow.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||02/28/2021|
Was Norman eulogizing himself? He's only 99.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||02/28/2021|
R124 are you serious? The award is named after Burnett.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||02/28/2021|
Did anyone like Nomadland?
|by Anonymous||reply 131||02/28/2021|
Bonnie Franklin was included in the Lear tribute.
Geez, I would have thought Hayek’s English wouldn’t be at Melania level now.
|by Anonymous||reply 132||02/28/2021|
Kevin needs to tighten his tie. He looks like a slob.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||02/28/2021|
Nomadland is a pretentious piece of shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||02/28/2021|
Kevin Bacon could afford to gain a few pounds.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||02/28/2021|
Emma! So deserved...
|by Anonymous||reply 136||02/28/2021|
R131, it was my favorite film of the year.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||02/28/2021|
Look for Emma Corrin to win the SAG Award, too. I’m voting for her.
|by Anonymous||reply 138||02/28/2021|
Over Laura Linney, R136? I think not.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||02/28/2021|
Diane Warren paid for that award.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||02/28/2021|
I thought Sarah Paulson should have won over Princess Diana but the foreign press votes on these awards.
|by Anonymous||reply 141||02/28/2021|
Trent Reznor's long hair is back!
|by Anonymous||reply 142||02/28/2021|
Tracy Morgan is Tracy Jordan...
|by Anonymous||reply 143||02/28/2021|
are these speeches pre-recorded ?
|by Anonymous||reply 144||02/28/2021|
Did Tracy Morgan actually mispronounce "soul"????
|by Anonymous||reply 145||02/28/2021|
Nicholas Hoult is so pretty.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||02/28/2021|
That last batch seemed to be, R144.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||02/28/2021|
Emma Corrin has a good shot of winning the Emmy. She showed so much range over the course of the season, going from a quietly scheming ingenue to a bitter superstar.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||02/28/2021|
R144, so far the acting trophies seem to be live. However, the Original Song and Original Score winners were pre-taped!
|by Anonymous||reply 149||02/28/2021|
Who on earth thinks that anyone wants to watch allegedly witty repartee on Zoom? Last spring, maybe. But now? Just excruciating.
|by Anonymous||reply 150||02/28/2021|
I loved hearing Tina Fey's laugh loudly ring out when Tracy Morgan mispronounced "Soul."
|by Anonymous||reply 151||02/28/2021|
Nomadland is a pretentious piece of shit.
...that was fished out of a bucket with Frances Mcdormand squatting over it.
|by Anonymous||reply 152||02/28/2021|
That breastfeeding commercial? Oy. I can hear the angry fraus typing on FB at this very moment.
|by Anonymous||reply 153||02/28/2021|
This is such a mess that is becoming fun to watch.
|by Anonymous||reply 154||02/28/2021|
This is painful.
|by Anonymous||reply 155||02/28/2021|
Ted Lasso was awesome...happy for Jason Sudeikus.
On the gossip front, he’s supposedly in quarantine with his ex-wife.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||02/28/2021|
Olivia Wilde, r156?
|by Anonymous||reply 157||02/28/2021|
Oh, Schitt’s Creek again
|by Anonymous||reply 158||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 159||02/28/2021|
Nicolas Hoult looked gorgeous. I’m not a fan of his at all, he is stiff and boring and overrated in looks usually, but tonight he looked striking.
The show is stupid but I am entertained.
No one is giving black people awards just for being black. Stop the racist shit stalker troll. Seriously. How many black people won vs white tonight? Enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 160||02/28/2021|
Happy Ted Lasso won.
|by Anonymous||reply 161||02/28/2021|
R160, he was fantastic in The Great. And his ass was delicious.
|by Anonymous||reply 162||02/28/2021|
He wasn’t great in The Great. He was fine. Stiff like always
|by Anonymous||reply 163||02/28/2021|
Jason Sudeikis is the nephew of George Wendt.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||02/28/2021|
(R131) I watched it on Hulu. The whole time I kept thinking this is one of the best movies of the year. Depressing movie about a old lady living in van.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||02/28/2021|
Sean Penn looks like Larry from the 3 Stooges (after a weekend of booze and drugs).
|by Anonymous||reply 166||02/28/2021|
OK, what happened to Sean Penn's hair, skin, and face? He looks like he got locked in a dishwasher.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||02/28/2021|
It’s weird that Sean is vain enough to dye his hair when he gave up on his face decades ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||02/28/2021|
Ben Stiller looks old!
|by Anonymous||reply 169||02/28/2021|
Ooh...Ben Stiller's aging into a hot daddy!
|by Anonymous||reply 170||02/28/2021|
Why is Ben Stiller in NYC? Go back out West where you belong
|by Anonymous||reply 171||02/28/2021|
Ben Stiller could play his father in a Seinfeld reboot.
|by Anonymous||reply 172||02/28/2021|
That VVitch actress is scary looking.
|by Anonymous||reply 173||02/28/2021|
Is Rosamund pregnant?
|by Anonymous||reply 174||02/28/2021|
Is Rosamund Pike sitting on the floor?
|by Anonymous||reply 175||02/28/2021|
Rosamund Pike: When shitty stylists happen to good people.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 177||02/28/2021|
Where did Sean Penn buy that wig? A joke shop. And isn’t he one of those actors that is also overstayed his welcome.
|by Anonymous||reply 178||02/28/2021|
Rosamund Pike is shocked she won!
|by Anonymous||reply 179||02/28/2021|
Margot Robbie looks like she's going to a middle school dance in 1993. those sleeves - just no!
|by Anonymous||reply 180||02/28/2021|
Uh-oh...the deplorables are gonna come for Rosamund about that "America's broken legal system" remark!
|by Anonymous||reply 181||02/28/2021|
Al Pacino has morphed into Richard Lewis!
|by Anonymous||reply 182||02/28/2021|
Rosamund Pike is shocked she won!
So am I!
|by Anonymous||reply 183||02/28/2021|
Rosamund also shaded their dear Guiliani.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||02/28/2021|
Could this show by any worse?
|by Anonymous||reply 185||02/28/2021|
How long is this show?
|by Anonymous||reply 186||02/28/2021|
Marty S. seems quite good-humoured.
|by Anonymous||reply 187||02/28/2021|
R186, 6.5 inches.
|by Anonymous||reply 188||02/28/2021|
R122, That better not be a mock of the great Ronan Keating! He WAS Boyzone!
|by Anonymous||reply 189||02/28/2021|
R186...Amy was joking, but not earlier: The show will likely last 3 hours.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||02/28/2021|
Usually it takes a little while to clean up a car crash in Hollywood.
|by Anonymous||reply 191||02/28/2021|
Jason Bateman still looks great. Very attractive
|by Anonymous||reply 192||02/28/2021|
Thought for sure the chick from Borat would win given it’s the HFPA. I’m happy for Rosamund even though the movie is flawed.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||02/28/2021|
Josh O’Connor easily gave my favorite television performance of 2020.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||02/28/2021|
Josh did a great job, because I wanted to slap him repeatedly.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||02/28/2021|
Jason Sudeikis is so sexy. Olivia Wilde was crazy to give him up.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||02/28/2021|
Jason always looks good.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||02/28/2021|
I’m so happy for Josh.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||02/28/2021|
Love Josh O'Connor.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||02/28/2021|
I Care A Lot was awful.
But I like Rosamund so I don’t mind.
Josh is adorable.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||02/28/2021|
R199, yeah; great speech; seems to genuinely care.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||02/28/2021|
Josh is adorable
|by Anonymous||reply 202||02/28/2021|
G should not wear bangs.

The doctor stuff? Someone got paid for coming up with this idea. Tsk tsk tsk.

Tina and Amy are completely bombing.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||02/28/2021|
Ben Stiller is in NY because he’s directing/producing a TV series.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||02/28/2021|
I guess I underestimated how much Tina and Amy’s chemistry is reliant on them being in the same room.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||02/28/2021|
Laura Linney's husband has such a killer smile. *swoons*
|by Anonymous||reply 213||02/28/2021|
How awkward...Peter Morgan sitting alone in his office while his ex, Gillian Anderson is glammed up elsewhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 214||02/28/2021|
Tina and Amy are completely bombing.
In fairness they have damn little to work with here that would be politically permissible for them to speak aloud
|by Anonymous||reply 215||02/28/2021|
Wasn't Jane arrested again a couple of years ago? Where's that mugshot?
|by Anonymous||reply 216||02/28/2021|
Man, Jane Fonda looks phenomenal for 83.
|by Anonymous||reply 217||02/28/2021|
Yes, there's surgery going on. But Fonda looks great.
|by Anonymous||reply 218||02/28/2021|
Please Let this be the last time Tina and Amy host anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 219||02/28/2021|
Nice speech, Jane.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 221||02/28/2021|
Happy Birthday, Tommy Tune!
|by Anonymous||reply 222||02/28/2021|
Jesus, how the fuck did Daniel Kaluuya win anything?
|by Anonymous||reply 223||02/28/2021|
Jane Fonda looks phenomenal for 83. Whatever work she’s had done was well worth the money. She looks great.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 225||02/28/2021|
I take it the consensus is that Jane looks great, and this is not another "Girl, no" moment?
|by Anonymous||reply 226||02/28/2021|
Ain’t it past her bedtime?
|by Anonymous||reply 227||02/28/2021|
R255... eat shit
|by Anonymous||reply 228||02/28/2021|
Yeah, R255, eat shit!
|by Anonymous||reply 229||02/28/2021|
R168 Is that his hair? I mean I know he paid for it but that's a wig!
|by Anonymous||reply 230||02/28/2021|
This Hamilton nomination as a "motion picture" is bullshit.
|by Anonymous||reply 231||02/28/2021|
I bet it’s so hard for the nominees and winners. To realize they’re not going to about 25 after parties. To have their asses kissed. And unlimited booze and drugs. I feel so bad for them. It’s what they’re a custom too.🙄🙄
|by Anonymous||reply 232||02/28/2021|
The pressure’s on R255 to be a real bitch.
|by Anonymous||reply 233||02/28/2021|
Last year was all about modesty, but this year the titties are on full display!
|by Anonymous||reply 234||02/28/2021|
Thank Aaron Rodgers!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 235||02/28/2021|
The HFPA has always loved Jodie.
|by Anonymous||reply 236||02/28/2021|
Alexandra went full man.
|by Anonymous||reply 237||02/28/2021|
Jodie thanked Aaron Rodgers...is that because he’s a gay man marrying her co-star?
|by Anonymous||reply 238||02/28/2021|
And R276 can eat shit afterwards, too.
Jane Fonda' s speech, which could have been treacle, embarrassing, expected... was right on target. And powerful, and relevant (like too much of the media pandering misses...).
|by Anonymous||reply 239||02/28/2021|
Did Tan France have a sex change and become Jodie Foster's wife?
And I guess we found out what happened to Precious from SofL--Jodie kept him all these year and he grew enormous.
|by Anonymous||reply 240||02/28/2021|
Bullcrap...that was Helena's award!
|by Anonymous||reply 241||02/28/2021|
I wish I could figure out Gillian Anderson’s schtick. Tonight she’s using the American accent, but during press for S4 of The Crown, she went with the British accent 🤔
|by Anonymous||reply 242||02/28/2021|
It would be delicious if Jodie were to beat G at the Oscars again. Or Olivia. Or Cher. Really anybody.
|by Anonymous||reply 243||02/28/2021|
R233/r239 -- which thread are you on?!
|by Anonymous||reply 244||02/28/2021|
I just wanted her to shit the fuck up. Jeez. How about your third grade teacher?
|by Anonymous||reply 245||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 246||02/28/2021|

R249... yup, until his last breath.
|by Anonymous||reply 250||02/28/2021|
Oh, wow, R249...I stand corrected! 🥵
|by Anonymous||reply 251||02/28/2021|
Wow, the Queen’s Gambit! Well deserved.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||02/28/2021|
Are Room Raters reviewing these backgrounds?
|by Anonymous||reply 253||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 254||02/28/2021|
R243 Glenn has the Oscar this year. Jodie isn’t even up for SAG. And even if she’s nominated they won’t give Jodie a third or Maria (may prevail at SAG) an Oscar for that silly, gross performance.
|by Anonymous||reply 255||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 256||02/28/2021|
Who is that Middle Eastern man in the bottom right? Omg
|by Anonymous||reply 257||02/28/2021|
Anthony Hopkins will still be winning the Oscar.
|by Anonymous||reply 258||02/28/2021|
Chadwick Bozeman was a great actor, but his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was supporting, and it wasn’t better than Daniel Kaluuya’s. Hopefully at the Oscars, Steven Yeun takes the 5th spot.
|by Anonymous||reply 259||02/28/2021|
Is anyone else still watching? This thread is really slow tonight.
|by Anonymous||reply 260||02/28/2021|
R257 Riz Ahmed?
|by Anonymous||reply 261||02/28/2021|
Soon-Yi won Best Director!
Take that, Dylan!
|by Anonymous||reply 262||02/28/2021|
Trumpeter Boseman is winning the Oscar. Unfortunately.
|by Anonymous||reply 263||02/28/2021|
R261 no. The one on the bottom right. Not too left
|by Anonymous||reply 264||02/28/2021|
No, R261....Tahar Rahim
|by Anonymous||reply 265||02/28/2021|
R263 proof that he is a Trupmer so I may cancel please
|by Anonymous||reply 266||02/28/2021|
I am thrilled that Chadwick and Chloe won.
|by Anonymous||reply 267||02/28/2021|
Emma Corin's task was impossible and she beat my expectations by far.
|by Anonymous||reply 268||02/28/2021|
R266, it’s a joke. Chadwick played a trumpeter in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
|by Anonymous||reply 269||02/28/2021|
Trumpeter, not Trumper, R266. Plus he's dead, so life already canceled him.
|by Anonymous||reply 270||02/28/2021|
I’m thinking Chadwick will win supporting for Da Five Bloods and Hopkins will win lead for The Father at the Oscars.
|by Anonymous||reply 271||02/28/2021|
I'm betting on Steve Yuen.
|by Anonymous||reply 272||02/28/2021|
I hope so. Hopkins deserves it, and it would knock out Kaluuya. I didn't love Boseman this year, but he should have been nominated for both 42 and Get on Up, so I will be happy to see him get an Oscar.
|by Anonymous||reply 273||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 274||02/28/2021|

Viola can even take the fun out of a L’oreal commercial.
|by Anonymous||reply 276||02/28/2021|
I didn't think anything about Ma Bottoms Sexual Ass to be anything award worthy. Im sorry I'm just not gonna pretend
|by Anonymous||reply 277||02/28/2021|
Hugh Grant never wins anything.
|by Anonymous||reply 278||02/28/2021|
Sacha Baron Cohen is hot to me, I don't care that's my truth
|by Anonymous||reply 279||02/28/2021|
Barb and Star were hilarious!
|by Anonymous||reply 280||02/28/2021|
I agree, R277.
|by Anonymous||reply 281||02/28/2021|
Barb and Star were hilarious!
Really? Because their movie was like eating glass.
|by Anonymous||reply 282||02/28/2021|
Andy Samberg is aging like a fine wine.
|by Anonymous||reply 283||02/28/2021|
Tommy Lee Jones watching the Barb and Star bit.
|by Anonymous||reply 284||02/28/2021|
I’ve had a crush on Samberg since he was on SNL
|by Anonymous||reply 285||02/28/2021|
Sacha looks very sexy tonight
|by Anonymous||reply 286||02/28/2021|
Is it really an honor just to be nominated or is it bitterly disappointing to lose?
|by Anonymous||reply 287||02/28/2021|
When did Sacha get with Amy Adams? She looks very cute tonight!
|by Anonymous||reply 288||02/28/2021|
Mulligan or Day!
|by Anonymous||reply 289||02/28/2021|
The shock when Borat wins Best Picture at the Oscars.
|by Anonymous||reply 290||02/28/2021|
Gross....is anyone seeing this What the Gush Tampax commercial? That shit’s just wrong.
|by Anonymous||reply 291||02/28/2021|
R287 depends. Sometimes just being nominated helps give an actor a career boost. Sometimes them winning (especially too soon or in a role deemed unworthy) hurts their career.
Marisa Tomei is the perfect example of that.
|by Anonymous||reply 292||02/28/2021|
Is L’Oréal Paris a terminal disease? Viola’s intensity is...confusing.
|by Anonymous||reply 293||02/28/2021|

|by Anonymous||reply 294||02/28/2021|
Joaquin dressed for the occasion. Has anyone had a longer fuckable streak than Chris Meloni!
|by Anonymous||reply 295||02/28/2021|
WHAT THE FUCK??
|by Anonymous||reply 296||02/28/2021|
Carey not happy.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||02/28/2021|
Um, I like an upset/Cinderella story, but I’ve only heard underwhelming things about The US vs Billie Holliday.
|by Anonymous||reply 298||02/28/2021|
Carey not happy, but that Variety film reviewer is!
|by Anonymous||reply 299||02/28/2021|
But I'm thrilled. I can't stand Carey Mulligan or her shitty movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 300||02/28/2021|
So, the woman who was Boseman’s wife for only a few months, abandoned him in front of a hospital and only probably got married for the insurance pay off gets to speak for him, while his parents who have known him his whole life sit silently seething?
|by Anonymous||reply 301||02/28/2021|
Mulligan was robbed? I haven’t seen Day
|by Anonymous||reply 302||02/28/2021|
Chloe Zhao is ADORABLE.
|by Anonymous||reply 303||02/28/2021|
Hooray for Nomadland!
|by Anonymous||reply 304||02/28/2021|
What have they done to David Fincher?
|by Anonymous||reply 305||02/28/2021|
Fincher looks angry
|by Anonymous||reply 306||02/28/2021|
Chloe and Frances seem like they’d be sympatico.
|by Anonymous||reply 307||02/28/2021|
Wait. Mulligan was upset?
|by Anonymous||reply 308||02/28/2021|
Carey's movie sounded just too annoyingly woke and p.c. for me: "#MeToo, the Motion Picture."
This blunts her momentum, and suggests the Oscar winner will more likely be Frances McDormand (who was winning all the critics's prizes before the Mulligan swell began.)
|by Anonymous||reply 309||02/28/2021|
Once again, the Golden Globes came through on the threat to run more than 3 hours. And once again I watched until the very end, despite claiming I’d walk away after the first hour.
|by Anonymous||reply 310||02/28/2021|
It’s been made patently obvious tonight that the HFPA have been compensating for their embarrassing lack of inclusion. At least this will help the Oscar race be a tad more interesting.
|by Anonymous||reply 311||02/28/2021|
I don’t see Andra Day winning the Oscar. I actually feel she will end up not nominated
|by Anonymous||reply 312||02/28/2021|
See you down the road! Now get outta here so I can shit in this 🪣 in peace!
|by Anonymous||reply 313||02/28/2021|
What have they done to David Fincher?
What do you mean?
|by Anonymous||reply 314||02/28/2021|
R310 That’s totally me too (not #MeToo)
|by Anonymous||reply 315||02/28/2021|
What is Andra Day?
|by Anonymous||reply 316||02/28/2021|
I don’t think Andra Day deserves an Oscar, but Renee Zellweger ruined the argument against such a thing happening with her win last year. Judy was horrible and Renee was just okay...yet she won Best Actress.
|by Anonymous||reply 317||02/28/2021|
The chick who played Diana in The Crown??? WTF? She was a terrible bore!
|by Anonymous||reply 318||02/28/2021|
Paramount is the studio that took the HFPA members to Paris (for Emily in Paris). Since they got caught taking bribes for that, I'm guessing they decided to reward Paramount elsewhere -- guess who produced The United States versus Billie Holiday?
|by Anonymous||reply 319||02/28/2021|
I liked Dig, but Carey was to young for the part and her role wasn’t that big.
|by Anonymous||reply 320||02/28/2021|
When there are two absolute front runners and you award a total wild card you don't help your credibility. Or are they just full on we'll do what will make Twitter happy now.
|by Anonymous||reply 321||02/28/2021|
Is Nomadland any less boring than The Rider was?
|by Anonymous||reply 322||02/28/2021|
Because of COVID, this is the year that anything goes. The Oscar nominees list will look different that tonight's, and will also have wild card wins and upsets. It's that kind of year.
Look for the boring predictability to return next year, with a beginning to return to post-COVID normalcy.
|by Anonymous||reply 323||02/28/2021|
R292 Tomei has been nominated twice since her win. Fail.
R312 Days Oscar nomination chances just got a huge boost. I think Mulligan will prevail for the Oscar. McDormand still might win a third if she wins for producing Nomadland.
|by Anonymous||reply 324||02/28/2021|
They gave about as many awards to black actors and actresses as they could so as to make up for the nominations controversy, and that is completely why Andra Day won.
Unless the Oscars nominations are similarly criticized, they will likely not do the same thing with Best Actress.
|by Anonymous||reply 325||02/28/2021|
okay, i put this on in the background. It's one of those stupid award shows.
|by Anonymous||reply 326||02/28/2021|
Big win for Jodie Foster! She might actually win her 3rd Oscar this year, which would put her in elite company.
|by Anonymous||reply 327||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 328||02/28/2021|
Where is this being head?
|by Anonymous||reply 329||02/28/2021|
Tracy Morgan mispronouncing Soul was the only genuinely funny thing to happen
|by Anonymous||reply 330||02/28/2021|
so how did Andra Day win over Mulligan and McDormand? was she really that good?
|by Anonymous||reply 331||02/28/2021|
R324 yes, Eventually but her win was considered a joke and she was not offered good roles for years.
|by Anonymous||reply 332||02/28/2021|
Mulligan doesn’t seem that liked.
|by Anonymous||reply 333||02/28/2021|
Big win for Jodie Foster! She might actually win her 3rd Oscar this year, which would put her in elite company.
Unlikely. The HFPA has always had a hard-on for her since they know she's letter-perfect in French.
|by Anonymous||reply 334||02/28/2021|
Foster and Hopkins will likely present together at the oscars for silence of the lambs 30th anniversary. If I was producing the show I'd try to make it happen. Good story for them both to win again.
|by Anonymous||reply 335||02/28/2021|
Jodie Foster is not winning an Oscar. Amanda Seyfried is still the front runner. As noted above, the HFPA loved Jodie...she’s received 11 nominations, 3 wins, and the Cecil B DeMille Award.
|by Anonymous||reply 336||02/28/2021|
The same Amanda Seyfried that was snubbed by SAG r336? And in a movie that was just shut out at the Globes and seems to have no passion behind it? That Amanda Seyfried?
|by Anonymous||reply 337||02/28/2021|
Andra Day's award was bought and paid for by the studio. There's been a heavily promoted(paid) Tweet all day on Twitter for the movie, which indicates that they knew Andra was going to win. Her win was not legitimate.
|by Anonymous||reply 338||02/28/2021|
Here we go with the bullshit.
R338 no. You claimed that about Rami too. And then he won the SAG, BAFTA and OSCAR
|by Anonymous||reply 339||02/28/2021|
The Guilty White People Golden Globes
|by Anonymous||reply 340||02/28/2021|
Well I hope this was the death rattle for Amy & Tina hosting anymore shows, these overrated gasbags need to move into obscurity.
|by Anonymous||reply 341||02/28/2021|
Is that the first time Jodie was seen cozy with her wife on tv? I bet John Hinckley is having a crazy fit, if he didn't know she was gay.
Sacha beat out Lin-Manuel 2 times in a row, but "Borat" was actually a movie, and Mr. Cohen is actually a really good actor.
Haven't seen Jason Sudeikis' show, but can a lousy, prolonged speech and not seeming grateful enough screw you out of other awards? Don Cheadle kept moving his hands to finish up, which Sudeikis made a little less embarrassing by at least acknowledging.
Who were the two unfunny broads handing out the Best Comedy and Musical?
|by Anonymous||reply 342||02/28/2021|
With this increasing "political correctness" in the US, I think more and more people especially the filmmakers will take winning the top prizes at Cannes, BAFTA, Venice, Berlin... more seriously than Golden Globe and Oscar, and I don't think I am alone on this.
|by Anonymous||reply 343||02/28/2021|
Don't underestimate Jodie Foster's Oscar chances. She's been in the industry for 50 years and has many friends who love and respect her. I would say that she's now the frontrunner in the Supporting Actress category.
|by Anonymous||reply 344||02/28/2021|
I think Jodie now has a slot. But most of those nominees are lackluster. The grandmother in Minari is the only deserving winner
|by Anonymous||reply 345||02/28/2021|
Michelle Pfeiffer deserves an Oscar.
|by Anonymous||reply 346||02/28/2021|
R344 50 years?
|by Anonymous||reply 347||02/28/2021|
Golden Globes is only voted on by like 90 people! It's usually known for being a fun ceremony to attend, since they normally are at table with free-flowing liquor (and I guess food, too). Plus folks in show biz love to honor themselves, so since famous people are involved, they've blown up its importance -- at least the Oscars and SAG Awards have people in the business who presumably know quality-- though of course that, like any awards show, has its biases anyway. Being a Golden Globe nominee or winner is something else the press can write about you in your publicity or obituary.
|by Anonymous||reply 348||02/28/2021|
Sooooooo BAD!!! I muted the program after the monologue. NO IMPRESSED. not even funny.
|by Anonymous||reply 349||02/28/2021|
Did they just decide today to change their votes to Black people?
|by Anonymous||reply 350||02/28/2021|
Amanda Seyfried's Oscar chances died when she couldn't even get into SAG in this weak-ass year and being the biggest female name in a Fincher film.
She couldn't even get a consolation Globe tonight. She's toast.
|by Anonymous||reply 351||02/28/2021|
R347 Jodie was a young girl on shows like "Courtship of Eddie's Father" in the late 60s and before that had been the model for the little girl whose bikini bottom was whisked away by a little dog in Coppertone ads in the mid-60s.
|by Anonymous||reply 352||02/28/2021|
DEAR. GOD. Gillian Anderson winning for that atrocious bit of acting in The Crown is down right criminal. She was terrible as Thatcher!
|by Anonymous||reply 353||02/28/2021|
Is it pronounced with a hard “G” or a hard “J?”
|by Anonymous||reply 354||02/28/2021|
Jodie winning Supporting is starting to make more sense. She hasn't won an Oscar since the early 90s. No one really cares about Supporting Oscars anyway. In the old days, winners wouldn't even get a statuette -- they'd get a plaque. It's the less-than Oscar.
Glenn is not winning for that atrocious movie. Seyfried might even miss getting a nomination at this point. Maria from the Borat movie will be in Supporting this time, as will the grandma from Minari.
|by Anonymous||reply 355||02/28/2021|
at least the Oscars and SAG Awards have people in the business who presumably know quality
R348 that's a thing of the past, quality or not, the award shows like Oscar now is required to preempt 30% nomination slots for the black.
|by Anonymous||reply 356||02/28/2021|
Poor Glenn can't even beat Jodie in just above average performance
|by Anonymous||reply 357||02/28/2021|
I like that guy. Compassion is so sexy.
|by Anonymous||reply 358||02/28/2021|
Jodie getting nominated instead of Glenn would be delicious.
Even Jane focused on her white guilt.
|by Anonymous||reply 359||02/28/2021|
Depressing movie about a old lady living in van.
Maggie Smith did it better.
|by Anonymous||reply 360||02/28/2021|
Omg ITS NOT WHITE GUILT TO WANT EQUALITY AND MORE GOOD ROLES FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR.
|by Anonymous||reply 361||02/28/2021|
GROW THE FUCK UP ALREADY WITH YOUR RACIST SHIT R359
I’m sick of you and your behavior all over this site. You need to go. Before I have to take care of it.
|by Anonymous||reply 362||02/28/2021|
Jodie is liked even by deplorables because they know her and grew up with her. She will get nominated now for sure. But the Borat girl is still gonna win
|by Anonymous||reply 363||02/28/2021|
Seyfried is a homewrecking slut. She should be a DL fave but she's not, people forget about her.
|by Anonymous||reply 364||02/28/2021|
Of course it’s white guilt. Jane could have produced diverse roles years ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 365||02/28/2021|
I thought Sarah Paulson should have won over Princess Diana but the foreign press votes on these awards.
I'm so glad that cunt lost.
|by Anonymous||reply 366||02/28/2021|
R364 really, so how many married men had she slept with? lol
|by Anonymous||reply 367||02/28/2021|
The one she's married to currently. She used to follow him and his wife when they went on vacation.
|by Anonymous||reply 368||02/28/2021|
Andra Day is beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 369||02/28/2021|
Seyfried is a homewrecking slut. She should be a DL fave but she's not, people forget about her.
Is she pals with that cunt Claire Dane?
|by Anonymous||reply 370||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 371||02/28/2021|
Maggie Smith did it better.
That one involved a 💩 scene too, but at least Dame Maggie had the decency to do it offscreen!
|by Anonymous||reply 372||02/28/2021|
"Poor Glenn can't even beat Jodie in just above average performance"
My god is it 1988 again!?!
|by Anonymous||reply 373||02/28/2021|
So Andra shouldn't have hid it on tv when she won her award at the beginning and end. I know she was emotional, but actors are supposed to smile or at least cry with happiness at their audience.
|by Anonymous||reply 374||02/28/2021|
R249... yup, until his last breath.
Maybe not LAST breath.
|by Anonymous||reply 375||02/28/2021|
Jodie is the rare actor deplorables accept. As mentioned before. They grew up with her
|by Anonymous||reply 376||02/28/2021|
R344 if Jodie was so beloved she would’ve been nominated at SAG. I’m not saying shes not respected and admired in the industry, I just don’t think she has the momentum to win. She’s not gonna pull even with Streep and Ingrid Bergman for a film no one has seen. They will just throw the Oscar bone to Glenn this year. She’s become the Lucci of the Oscars. That way everyone can say she finally got it on her eighth time at bat ala Geraldine Page and the Academy can feel they are done with her losing streak.
|by Anonymous||reply 377||02/28/2021|
I'm disheartened that the solution to a lack of black representation in positions of power in an industry is to give black actors undeserved awards and just pander.
|by Anonymous||reply 378||02/28/2021|
They just need to give Glenn Close an honorary Oscar. It would be nice in a time when we're reexamining how women are perceived. Alex Forest was such a landmark in that regard.
|by Anonymous||reply 379||02/28/2021|
Oscar voters aren’t going to forget the leaked photos of Amanda Siegfried sucking Justin Long’s cock.
|by Anonymous||reply 380||02/28/2021|
The thing with all these awards tis year is when people have even had the chance to see films. Im sure now Jodie will probably get nominated but I doubt she will win. The Minari grandma wasn't eligible for the Globes but she will be Oscar nominated
|by Anonymous||reply 381||02/28/2021|
The Foreign Press seems very taken with shows about royalty, odd since many of them were former colonies who overthrew despotic rulers?
|by Anonymous||reply 382||02/28/2021|
They will just throw the Oscar bone to Glenn this year. That way everyone can say she finally got it on her eighth time at bat ala Geraldine Page and the Academy can feel they are done with her losing streak.
And didn’t poor Geraldine die a year or two later?
|by Anonymous||reply 383||02/28/2021|
Man, Chris Meloni looked really hot and filled out his tux in all the right places. The guy just never seems to age, except for the hairline. Jane Fonda, at 83, continues to astonish. I read the pantsuit she wore was something she pulled from her closet. She is terrific in "Grace and Frankie," for those who haven't seen it. And her acceptance speech was the best of the night.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were just not funny. And why bother having co-hosts if they're not going to be on the same stage? The split scene stuff was awkward and off-putting. And speaking of awkward and off-putting, the bit with Kenan Thompson and Maya Rudolph wasn't at all funny. It looked like the two were pushed on stage without any sort of script. And Amy seemed annoyed at the overlong attempt at humor.
Okay, I get it. Jamie Lee Curtis has big breasts. But somehow they don't do her much good.
"The Crown" got more love from the HFPA and I think it was deserved. The newest season detailing the the horror show that was Charles and Diana's doomed marriage was one of the best in the series. And Gillian Anderson made a great Margaret Thatcher.
Once again, Jason Bateman was robbed.
I hope next year the GG will again have everyone in the same room and they'll all be sufficiently liquored up.
|by Anonymous||reply 384||02/28/2021|
More people probably saw Gillian play Mrs. Thatcher than that film you won the Oscar for, G!
|by Anonymous||reply 385||02/28/2021|
Not that she probably cares but did Fran McDormand fuck up her Oscar chances by not even showing up IN HER OWN HOME tonight to be a presence?? She could have even worn her sweats, for chrissakes.....
|by Anonymous||reply 386||02/28/2021|
I mean M -- at this point they are almost interchangeable!
|by Anonymous||reply 387||02/28/2021|
Awful, just awful. I can't imagine any heterosexual male sitting through 30 seconds of this dreck. I think gays will give up watching. So terrible.
|by Anonymous||reply 388||02/28/2021|
Anya Taylor Joy or whatever her name is -- she looked like a strung out drug addict. Sad.
|by Anonymous||reply 389||02/28/2021|
I'm disheartened that the solution to a lack of black representation in positions of power in an industry is to give black actors undeserved awards and just pander.
Enough already. Man up for once and admit that you can’t imagine any black actor ever turning in a performance that you’d deem award worthy. Admit that regardless of actor, role and film, regardless of the competition, and regardless of the actual quality of the performance, you will always, always attribute any black victory to your favorite word, pandering.
|by Anonymous||reply 390||02/28/2021|
Laura Linney said fuck it, I’m giving an acceptance speech anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 391||02/28/2021|
Agreed, Anya Taylor whatever looked depraved. Her hands were scary red and then those claws...
|by Anonymous||reply 392||02/28/2021|
it's just as well Fran McDormand didn't show up. my eyes were spared.
|by Anonymous||reply 393||02/28/2021|
My deplorable family loves Jodie Foster but they don't view her as a crazy lesbian liberal. They all view her as an actress they know that deserves respect. They don't see her as a crazy liberal even if she is
|by Anonymous||reply 394||02/28/2021|
Rosamund Pike doing her best Edith Ann imitation.
|by Anonymous||reply 395||02/28/2021|
Oh dear Christ that dress my eyes
|by Anonymous||reply 396||02/28/2021|
I'm blacker than Andra Day. This is clearly racism.
|by Anonymous||reply 397||02/28/2021|
R390 I've seen it all, Chaplin to today, and I know pandering when I see it.
Look, I love Regina King. Can she become a great director? Absolutely, I'd be amazed if she doesn't do fantastic things. Is the movie she did this year good? No, it isn't. Apply that logic across the board. There needs to be more opportunities to make good work, not just doing the lazy bit of handing out awards to paper over bad press.
|by Anonymous||reply 398||02/28/2021|
Oh Yes! Ms Viloa Davis has spoken
|by Anonymous||reply 399||02/28/2021|
That Taylor-Joy lady looks like she coming for Margot Robbie’s career.
|by Anonymous||reply 400||02/28/2021|
If she can stay out of rehab...
|by Anonymous||reply 401||02/28/2021|
There doesn't seem to be any passion behind anyone or any movie this year. Very odd. Are they really going to give Chadwick Boseman awards for that performance? If he were alive, I'm not even sure he'd be nominated.
|by Anonymous||reply 402||02/28/2021|
the bit with Kenan Thompson and Maya Rudolph wasn't at all funny. It looked like the two were pushed on stage without any sort of script.
I'm so glad they started cutting off nominees acceptance speeches so we could be treated to that bullshit. Oh, and let's not forget the incandescent Barb-n-Starr brilliance and hilarious celebrity tele-doctors!
|by Anonymous||reply 403||02/28/2021|
EXHUME THOSE BODIES!!!!
|by Anonymous||reply 404||02/28/2021|
Audra Day put a damper on things. Carey and Viola are still the frontrunners but we got a bit of a messs here.
|by Anonymous||reply 405||02/28/2021|
R403 Why did they leave those two tourists in, was it because they could do any of that Ellen in the audience type shit this year?
|by Anonymous||reply 406||02/28/2021|
Jodie Foster will be nominated but she will not win. Though I bet she is in the running more than those lesser actresses. If the Borat girl doesn't win. Jodie is next in line.
|by Anonymous||reply 407||02/28/2021|
The grandmother of Minari should win
|by Anonymous||reply 408||02/28/2021|
Frances taking a shit in that movie was disgusting. What’s with Hollywood’s Scat obsession in the last 5-7 years?
|by Anonymous||reply 409||02/28/2021|
Jodie must have chatted with every voting member personally. She has been all over youtube giving interviews to practically anyone with a webcam.
|by Anonymous||reply 410||02/28/2021|
I love Jodie. Rooting for her.
|by Anonymous||reply 411||02/28/2021|
R222, Do they even know each other?
|by Anonymous||reply 412||02/28/2021|
I DVRd it to FF through later. Was there an In Memoriam?
|by Anonymous||reply 413||02/28/2021|
No one absolutely no one dislikes Jodie Foster. After her win tonight she will get nominated.
|by Anonymous||reply 414||02/28/2021|
Just found out about Day’s win and I am thrilled. I wrote this about her work yesterday in the Oscars thread:
Andra Day should be nominated for her hauntingly fierce, transfixing, and transcendent performance as Billie Holiday. She shoots, penetrates, and burns like a red-hot laser and manages to save an unfocused and, at times, fickle film, providing and grounding it with an aching heart and soul.
Now, I hope she fucking wins Oscah! She is [bold]BRILLIANT[/bold] in the film. I haven’t been this enthralled with a performance in years.
|by Anonymous||reply 415||02/28/2021|
Yeah, critics have been harsh about the film but not her performance, which most praise
|by Anonymous||reply 416||02/28/2021|
R414, She and Whoopi were the only ones who supported Mel Gibson after his tirade.
|by Anonymous||reply 417||02/28/2021|
It really looks like they re-voted on all these awards overnight for the most optimal winners list just to counter all the criticism. Now no one can say anything about the lack of black members anymore, which was a stupid controversy to begin with since they are a small group of foreign entertainment journalists living in LA and it's not like there are all that many local newspapers in sub-Saharan Africa that have the resources to frequently relocate people to LA just to cover movie stars.
|by Anonymous||reply 418||02/28/2021|
R417, so what? nobody's perfect.
|by Anonymous||reply 419||02/28/2021|
R416 The film, though somewhat unfocused, is not as bad as the critics lead one to believe. Then again, I think Day’s work is so strong, it totally transcends any limitations. She’s sublime and her singing was eerily accurate and exquisite.
|by Anonymous||reply 420||02/28/2021|
Mel Gibson is one her dearest friends. That should have nothing to do with her work. Most people love Jodie Foster. Jamie Lee Curtis even called her a bestie.
|by Anonymous||reply 421||02/28/2021|
Spare us from your terrible writing and pasting it around.
|by Anonymous||reply 422||02/28/2021|
Frances taking a shit in that movie was disgusting. What’s with Hollywood’s Scat obsession in the last 5-7 years
Deadline Hollywood reporting Glenn has signed on to do 'Erna: A Life' produced by A24 Films. This is it folks, Glenn's finally getting her Oscar!
|by Anonymous||reply 423||02/28/2021|
R422 Suck my cunt...
|by Anonymous||reply 424||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 425||02/28/2021|
Carey Mulligan wasn't sexy enough to even win a Golden Globe. Margot Robbie would've won.
|by Anonymous||reply 426||02/28/2021|
Mulligan’s performance seems to be more polarizing than I thought
|by Anonymous||reply 427||02/28/2021|
R425 I’m surprised you’ve clocked yourself. Do you hate Day as much as you do Lange? Did her tits and sex scenes piss you off and prompt you to rant about her “breathy horny ways”?
|by Anonymous||reply 428||02/28/2021|
R427 Because she replaced Nicole Kidman and was too young for the role?
|by Anonymous||reply 429||02/28/2021|
R426 That Taylor-Joy chick would have stole it anyways, Mark my words five years from now we will be asking Margot who??? She’s going to Single White Female her right out of existence.
|by Anonymous||reply 430||02/28/2021|
I think we have a Day Loon now.
|by Anonymous||reply 431||02/28/2021|
R431 Soon it’ll start deriding Day’s performance and claiming that praise for it is only due to “wokeness.” After all, in addition to hating a handful of actresses, it’s also a bigot and racist.
|by Anonymous||reply 432||02/28/2021|
Seeing Jodie in her pajamas on the couch with her GF and their dog was worth the entire show.
|by Anonymous||reply 433||02/28/2021|
^^^ You just know they turned off the cam and did a heavy scissoring session right after that. I bet they scissored harder, faster and deeper than they’ve ever scissored before.
|by Anonymous||reply 434||02/28/2021|
R423, What about "Sunset Boulevard"?
|by Anonymous||reply 435||02/28/2021|
R434 I hope so. Glad you agree.
|by Anonymous||reply 436||02/28/2021|

|by Anonymous||reply 437||02/28/2021|
R437 No. You won for biggest cunt.
|by Anonymous||reply 438||02/28/2021|

oh that okay then, I like mark. Nice Guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 443||02/28/2021|

Robert Downey Jr. openly supported him
|by Anonymous||reply 444||02/28/2021|
Jodie's long time wife is the lucky EX of Ellen Degeneres. They look happy. I LOVE Jodie Foster and you should too.
Andra Day is very fine as Ms. Holiday, but does not one remember her from her huge hit Rise Up? We been knew about her for years. She's been wearing a flower in her hair for a long time. A beauty that one.
|by Anonymous||reply 445||02/28/2021|
Don Cheadle is 56 and looks like a bad 70 and as someone else noted Donald Sutherland didn't look like he was alive. It looked like a photo. Catherine O'Hara's husband was annoying and Carey Mulligan looks miserable.
|by Anonymous||reply 446||02/28/2021|
Andra has always been stylish.
|by Anonymous||reply 447||02/28/2021|
Donald Sutherland is 85.
|by Anonymous||reply 448||02/28/2021|
r26 You're confusing the quality and power of the performances with the person who wins. Also, The Father is going to have a tough go of it. hard to get enough voters to watch that movie for Hopkins to win. If he loses, and we will see soon enough, it may be because Oscar voters have too many viewing options these days and The Father can't compete with Brigerton and the thousand other shows out there. Amy Poheler said something tonight about how hard it was to put a movie on....others have that problem too.
|by Anonymous||reply 449||02/28/2021|
Donald Sutherland fucked Jane Fonda off the coast of the Atlantic for one whole summer in her ASS.
Who hasn't tho.
|by Anonymous||reply 450||02/28/2021|
R450 Conservative troll on the loose. Again.
|by Anonymous||reply 451||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 452||02/28/2021|
R450 Like the way your father fucked you up the ass all summer when you were 10? Who hasn't fucked you up the ass, though.
|by Anonymous||reply 453||02/28/2021|
Tahar Rahim and Riz Ahmed acted together in Black Gold, they played brothers. It would have bene hilarious if Tahar won the GG for Best Actor and Riz didn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 454||02/28/2021|
Yes, r451. Have to admit that I’m mildly amused by its weird little obsession with celebrities getting fucked “in the ASS” off the coast of the Atlantic, however. Only on DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 455||02/28/2021|
I see Rosamund Puke won.
|by Anonymous||reply 456||02/28/2021|
|by Anonymous||reply 457||02/28/2021|
R452 Nutjob is by far the most sisterwife of verbiage.

|by Anonymous||reply 459||02/28/2021|
I already had R450 on Ignore. Must definitely be a deranged troll.
|by Anonymous||reply 460||02/28/2021|
We see your racist ass all over this site R460. Responding to your own posts for a few devices, right now. INSANE ASYLUM seeker. Fat & old. Disgusting ancient white fag. That's you. Block me please. My people are KINGS.
|by Anonymous||reply 461||02/28/2021|
At least that withered white trash talent deprived Jess Lange wasn't nominated for anything this year. She's not safe at home. Always drunk and staring at herself in the mirror. Her days of winning things are over. Amen.
|by Anonymous||reply 462||02/28/2021|
Andra’s win makes me feel utterly effervescent.
|by Anonymous||reply 463||02/28/2021|
Is it the year of the Affirmative Action Acting Awards?
|by Anonymous||reply 464||02/28/2021|
No, it's the year of We're All Really Tired Of You Awards.
|by Anonymous||reply 465||02/28/2021|
When did Jodie become light, funny, and (I can’t NOT say it) gay? I’ve always respected her but she was always so heavy and serious. I guess I haven’t seen any recent interviews she’s done but has she been like this for a while - or just tonight? I like the change.
|by Anonymous||reply 466||02/28/2021|
Would seem Pike, Andra Day and Foster are the three biggest shocks of the night. Sorry for Bakalova who really deserved the globe
|by Anonymous||reply 467||02/28/2021|
Jodie has been through a lot. A long time in showbusiness. She's mellowed with age. And she probably always had to be somewhat more serious or she wouldn't be taken seriously, as a child and as a young woman. It's very easy to become complacent when you have success so early. She kept herself together. Good for her!
|by Anonymous||reply 468||02/28/2021|
Jodie's last Golden Globes speech had people saying she was crazy and had lost it. Times have changed I guess.
|by Anonymous||reply 469||02/28/2021|
Neither Andra, Jodie or Rosamund are nominated at SAG so watch this space for new frontrunners in a few weeks.
|by Anonymous||reply 470||02/28/2021|
The whole thing seemed sort of desperate. People huddled around their computer for some stupid award given out by a bunch of nobodies. NBC needs to drop this show.
|by Anonymous||reply 471||02/28/2021|
The Golden Globe voters have been exposed as utterly corrupt. But we knew that.
|by Anonymous||reply 472||02/28/2021|
What will Carey and Viola, desperate to win the Oscar, stoop to now in their campaigning after losing the Globe to Day? Has Carey talked about her own #metoo incidents yet for publicity? Viola can remind voters of Day's light skin privilege and how much more difficult it is for her as a dark chocolate sufferer.
|by Anonymous||reply 473||02/28/2021|
And the Golden Troll Award goes too...R472
|by Anonymous||reply 474||02/28/2021|
If R472 is unable to fulfill her duties, the second runner up is...R473.
|by Anonymous||reply 475||02/28/2021|
R471. We have Donald Trump to thank for lying about the disease a YEAR ago, all the while mocking people who took precautions, and then PERSONALLY SPREADING THE DISEASE to his administration, his followers, the Secret Service, and his family. With half a million Americans dead and FINALLY getting some kind of vaccine rolling out, it was a tough show to even attempt. Maybe by next year we won't have to live in fear of slow, infectious death.
|by Anonymous||reply 476||02/28/2021|
What was the deal with Catherine O'Hara's husband? Was he playing music over her speech?
I think Jodie's Mom's death, being out and being married has all been a huge weight lifted from her. I'm happy for her.
|by Anonymous||reply 477||Last Monday at 12:38 AM|
R417 so? I'm out, I'm married, I'm still a huge cunt!
|by Anonymous||reply 478||Last Monday at 1:02 AM|
Will they please give Laura Linney a Golden Globe!
|by Anonymous||reply 479||Last Monday at 1:18 AM|
Yes Laura Linney and Jason Bateman were robbed. Those two insipid nonentities from that overrated soap The Crown are demonstrably not better actors. A lot of very strange decisions. At least Emerald “entitled” Fennell didn’t clean up.
|by Anonymous||reply 480||Last Monday at 1:29 AM|
I'm not reading this whole thread, but I hope someone complained about the powers that be not being able to get fresh talent. Broadcast TV is nothing but mediocre SNL alums.
|by Anonymous||reply 481||Last Monday at 1:41 AM|
Isn’t Shrill on Hulu?
|by Anonymous||reply 482||Last Monday at 1:42 AM|
Why did Pike win over Bakalova?
|by Anonymous||reply 483||Last Monday at 2:46 AM|
Pike’s speech was excessively annoying
|by Anonymous||reply 484||Last Monday at 2:59 AM|
Everyone so upset about black representation but no one cares that the show had racist Cynthia Erivo and homophobe Tracey Morgan on.
|by Anonymous||reply 485||Last Monday at 3:39 AM|
Tracey Morgan? I thought he was disabled after that car accident.
|by Anonymous||reply 486||Last Monday at 4:00 AM|
What was the biggest shock of the night?
|by Anonymous||reply 487||Last Monday at 4:00 AM|
Well it wasn't that G lost.
|by Anonymous||reply 488||Last Monday at 4:02 AM|
Andra Day? I have not watched the "Billie Holiday", some here said her performance was terrific, even though the film itself is a huge mess.
|by Anonymous||reply 489||Last Monday at 4:06 AM|
R486 only until he got the $10mil.
|by Anonymous||reply 490||Last Monday at 4:09 AM|
Yikes, lots of bitter cunts on this thread.
I guess I don't understand why said cunts care so much about black folk winning. Does your day-to-day life suck so hard that you take it so personally??
It's crazy when you think that in 77 years, only around 50 black people have won a GG.
|by Anonymous||reply 491||Last Monday at 4:15 AM|
Even if we stipulate, as COVID-era common sense dictates, that the show necessarily had to be conducted remotely, its remoteness from other sorts of common sense was inexplicable. The only possible explanation is that, seeking the sense of chaos lent by serendipitous meetings of stars in the Beverly Hilton ballroom, the show sought to wring as much possible awkwardness as it could from putting all the nominees in a category onscreen and having the hosts tap out. It was an evening defined by sourness and a sense of obligation on all sides: A thing that was being done because everyone knew it was what was done every year, even as the news insisted on the show’s irrelevance and the production seemed to resist being put on. But what viewers who walked away after three hours feeling as if they just got out of a contentious work meeting with some very unpleasant coworkers may think to themselves is: Maybe it doesn’t need to
|by Anonymous||reply 492||Last Monday at 4:38 AM|
How in hell did Tracey mispronounce soul?
I am so sick of all these SNL idiots infiltrating US entertainment.
|by Anonymous||reply 493||Last Monday at 4:39 AM|
r477, Catherine O'Hara and her husband were doing a bit, though based on Twitter, a lot of people didn't get it. (A lot of dumb tweets about, "How dare that man ruin her moment!" "Somebody's going to be sleeping on the couch tonight!" As if it wasn't clearly planned and she weren't obviously in on it.
|by Anonymous||reply 494||Last Monday at 5:01 AM|
Mark Ruffalo’s acceptance speech may have permanently wilted the hardon I had for him for years. I’d pay money to have read Hugh Grant’s thoughts in the moment.
|by Anonymous||reply 495||Last Monday at 5:03 AM|
Yes. There have only been like 50 black winners over the course of 77 years.
How people are upset black people are being acknowledged now is ridiculous.
Well, by people, I mean one psycho loon
|by Anonymous||reply 496||Last Monday at 5:09 AM|
Can’t believe Nomadland won.
It is excruciatingly boring. Frances McDormand drifts around doing menial labor while living in her camper. The end.
Full of non-actors that make this pretentious garbage even worse.
Even David Strathairn couldn’t save this mess.
My deplorable family loves Jodie Foster but they don't view her as a crazy lesbian liberal. They all view her as an actress they know that deserves respect. They don't see her as a crazy liberal even if she is
Is Jodie liberal? I don't know anything about her politics.
|by Anonymous||reply 500||Last Monday at 6:15 AM|
Jodie is liberal and occasionally speaks out on issues, but as you'd expect from her, it's infrequent. Some people think she might be conservative because of her friendship with Mel Gibson, but it's probably just a common case where longtime friends maintain a relationship by avoiding politics altogether.
|by Anonymous||reply 501||Last Monday at 6:27 AM|
R497 is white guilt cinema to the max. Notice how since the late 90s white images on screen have become so gritty. We’ve got Frances shitting in buckets and Ellen Burtyn strung out on Meth pills, while all the black characters are living high on the hog like Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club. We no longer make aspirational lifestyle movies for whites.
|by Anonymous||reply 502||Last Monday at 6:28 AM|
Sorry, but I'm fucking sick of all of this racial and gender shit. This is one of the main reasons why viewership for these shows has gone down precipitously. They eventually become platforms for female empowerment or lack of diversity ( read " not enough blacks").

Any info on Jodie's wife? She looks so familiar....
And was Rosamund Pike already publicly out before last night?
And di anyone else notice how bloated and ruddy Kurt Russell looked last night sitting among Kate Hudson's family? Goldie's was in the background with heavier bangs than usual, unready for her closeup. Well, after all these years, Kurt and Goldie have earned their home comforts.

Maybe because she looks like volley ball player Megan Rapinoe? Or if you watched THE L WORD you've seen her.

The wife she thanked was her "I Care A Lot" wife Eiza Gonzalez.

As someone who is a third-generation participant in the movie business in LA, I think everyone should know that these "awards" are considered the biggest joke in town. The annual bash at the Beverly Hilton used to be considered more fun than the Oscars because it was a chance to party, get plastered, and be subject to less public scrutiny than at the Oscar awards. It's well-known that many members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association can be bought, sometimes with just an invitation to a party or screening. Most of the so-called "correspondents" have so little work in "reporting" film news to their media employers that they have to actually support themselves with full-time jobs in other occupations. It's a cliche in these parts to say, "On the night the Golden Globe Awards are given, you can't find a decent waiter in LA."

|by Anonymous||reply 531||Last Monday at 10:13 AM|
R530 everyone, especially on DL, know the HFPA is a joke. But they do set the pace for the awards season. There is a very high overlap since 1943 (globes first year) of globe winners translating to Oscar wins. So they are important to the studios. I couldn’t help but laugh last night when the HFPA prez and the other two made that perfunctory statement of including blacks in the membership in the future . You know they just hate to share the studio perks with any new members. It’s outrageous in 021 that there are still only 90 members. They still have the asinine rule of ANY member rejecting any new potential member. If they made a drive to include serious film critics and journalists into the fold it would give them a lot more credibility but it’ll never happen.

Fonda is the biggest fake there is. And she fools the eldergays every time. Jodie is a true iconoclast and intellectual. She may not hate Fonda, but any intelligent person knows that nothing Jane Fonda has ever done in her life has any meaning at all. She's trying to please men and get attention. And look good. She's thoughtful, but dumb. And she LIES all the damn time. Jane takes up the cause of the man OR the moment. Sometimes both. For 60 fucking years. Go away with your fake arrests and fake.....everything.
Jane is 83, but her vagina is only 12. Her ass has a few more miles on it.

R558 Jesus smh are you Jodie’s wife? Jodie probably didn’t realize she was on zoom at the time. I love me some Jane. Jane is a LEGEND and has been doing it before Jodie was born. Jodie fashions herself as this intellectual, but some of her interviews she rambles on about all kinds of stupid shit in her elite bubble. While Jodie is at home scissoring, Jane is out at rallies stirring shit up and getting arrested and raising awareness.

|by Anonymous||reply 565||Last Monday at 2:26 PM|
Something big happened between Jodie and Jane, because Jodie can't stand her now. Jodie is completely uninterested in Jane's speech at the 1:14 mark, instead preferring to play with her dog. Her wife Alexandra isn't interested either.
Then look at the death stare that Jodie gives her at the 2:50 mark. She looks like she's putting a gypsy curse on her. And her wife is not impressed with Jane again.
Something really bad happened and I wish I knew what it was.

R565 I’m not against lezs. Live and let live. Jane quit the business for 15 years, so it wasn’t all for show then or now. She’s not a fame and media whore. She does what she wants and takes care of business. I think she’s incredible for 84. Did you see her ovation at the Oscars last year? The audience knew what was up.
|by Anonymous||reply 569||Last Monday at 2:34 PM|
Ha, that's rich. Jane Fonda is kind of late to the civil rights movement. It's her cause of the day. Because it is THE cause of the day. But guess what, there was an actual civil rights movement and Jane Fonda was talking lockjaw instead. She gave a Black Panther salute in the 70s to try to gain some support with her other problems. Jane Fonda has nothing to do with black people outside of show business and she never has. She has NEVER been interested in any cause but her own. A most gullible and narcissistic old whore. Desperately seeking the approval of men. Especially ones who could further her career, her agenda or her lifestyle. Fake plastic sow. She has good genetics, nice surgery and avoids FOOD. Just what the eldergays wish they had in a mommy. Now that she's ancient, she flirts with women too.
Lots of white women of stature participated in the civil rights movement. Not Fonda. Jane fancies herself a revolutionary. She participates SAFELY in whatever makes her feel like a bad girl that day. Then takes a helicopter home. The word you're looking for is DILETTANTE.

Many people dislike Jane Fonda. The real world is not a Hollywood award show. Many people in those award audiences know exactly who Fonda is too - no matter their political persuasion. They know it in their gut. You won't catch Sarandon or Cher or Lange or Deborah Winger or even Sandra Bullock clapping too hard for Jane Fonda. Streep will and Julia Roberts - because they don't want to be too closely examined either. And it's fun to dress up and win things!! Live for the Applause.
Fonda is a fake feminist and a fake activist. Ted Danson or Martin Sheen has to hold her hand when she goes to "prison." 🤣🤣🤣 It will always be a man with her. Or a native elder woman. Trust that.
Fonda has never criticized her own industry. NEVER. She shows up for every prestige slot of every good event. She collects her awards then makes a passionate voice quavering speech in sign language. Even when she is at WAR with her own country. Or she'll play a handmade mouth harp for you and say how we must fight for the preservation of _______ people! NOW. She loves to give out the final award of the night so people will remember her incredible figure and wig. Fonda always sucked the dick of Hollywood. She's well spoken and was once or twice a bracing actress. So they applaud her. Same as SHE applauded Bob Hope and Polanski and Jack Lemmon and Jon Voight and whatever Nazi she was fucking at the time. She's a fucking fraud. You don't have to research her to know. Just be of similar or greater intelligence. It's not that hard.
Of course Jodie Foster has ner number. To love Jane Fonda involves some self hate if you're a woman in Hollywood. Jane discovered #MeToo. Too. Yes she did. Just last year!
She never knew that fucking men for work or cash was a bad thing before or that some other women suffered harassment!!! Jane got right activated, right away. In TV interviews!!

Responding to the Anti-Fonda neurosis further upthread: you are bitter or high or both.
Fonda, with lapses of judgement and shaky strategies, often listening to bad advice, has been authentically dedicated to peace, justice and environmental issues for over 50 years.
She is also a star in a way no one is, anymore. Was she a great actress? Define great. Was Jeanne Moreau a great actress? Does it matter? Did both Moreau and Fonda light up a screen, demand attention, and touch you with the power of their cinematic Presence. Yep.
|by Anonymous||reply 591||Last Monday at 4:45 PM|
What a strangely emotional response R591. There is no such thing as anti fonda neurosis. That's invented terminology. I see a public figure clearly. We've both been exposed to the same facade. You're free to worship her, or question her value and sincerity. Don't matter to me. There is an onslaught of stupidity that infects old white gay men. Some y'all worship certain women for reasons that appear juvenile and shallow. A little neurotic tbh.
Fonda doesn't appear to be in much danger in that silly photo R591. What is that tieing her hands? A shoelace. She's had far more violent acts done to her with her consent. She's a ridiculous woman. She doesn't get a pass because she is over 80 years old. She's always been a ridiculous woman. Do you think Jane Fonda ever spent a moment of fear in her LONG life that she would end up in jail or prison R591? She's a fucking white privileged limousine liberal dilettante. With a case of lockjaw. I don't think they can award her any further. 🙏🏾

Fonda looks very pleased with herself in her loose tie and zipper FACE. Who knew the old hag had so many fags?
