I am Spanish and, while it is undeniable that there are some very handsome men in Spain, I find the vast majority of my fellow countrymen to be on the plainer side... Also, there isn't much difference between Spaniards and the Portuguese, with the different that in Northern Portugal and Galicia it's more common to find people who are blond and blue-eyed - also, the Portuguese are actually politer and easier to deal with.

We should not forget that many people publicly reject fascism in Spain, but behind closed doors things are different. Also, for every person who is tolerant, there are just as many who are rabidly homophobic, but express it politely and using many subterfuges to avoid being publicly shamed.

Finally, many people who come out as "queer" in Spain, just as it happens everywhere else in the developed world, are little more than poseurs who think that it makes them look edgy and unique.
