Andrew McCarthy insists he was only Brat Pack adjacent... he just happened to be in some of their movies because he was young, but he swears he didn;t hang out with them. I don't think Molly Ringwald really did either, and Anthony Michael hall was too young for them. So all three of them would be grouped as Brat Pack adjacent, as of course would be Mare Winningham (whom no one ever thought was Bart Pack adjacent because she was the only good actor among them).
They've all deeply complained about that article that labeled them as such. It did sound like the writer was out to get them, and I'm sorry for Ally Sheedy and McCarthy (especially Sheedy, who is genuinely talented), but Estevez and Nelson and Lowe deeply deserved the shaming. They were too full of themselves.
