Boz Scaggs

Anybody else a fan? Still touring at 76 years old. I was a kid when he was at peak popularity but his tunes still rock. I love Lido Shuffle, It's Over, and his version of We're All Alone.

Here's Lido Shuffle with the guys who would form Toto doing backing.

HIS version of We're All Alone is HIS - he wrote it. Rita Coolidge's version SUCKED.

by Anonymousreply 2February 14, 2021 8:05 PM

Is he hung

by Anonymousreply 3February 14, 2021 8:08 PM

r3 good question. He has some sexy songs I would hope that translates to the bedroom.

by Anonymousreply 4February 14, 2021 8:11 PM

Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson had great chemistry but were painful to listen to when they sang together.

by Anonymousreply 5February 14, 2021 8:13 PM

I wonder what he thinks about his buddy David Foster's taste in women? First the wacky Lime disease Yolanda and now his 35 years younger wife Katherine McPhee is pregnant.

by Anonymousreply 6February 14, 2021 8:16 PM

I first heard his music when he had the song in Urban Cowboy

Happy Valentines Day r11

by Anonymousreply 12February 14, 2021 9:36 PM

Muah, r12!

by Anonymousreply 13February 14, 2021 9:39 PM

The first time I fell in love with a gay guy was the year Silk Degrees came out. It was one of "our" albums. Sadly, the song that reminds me of that relationship now is "What Do You Want the Girl to Do?"

He sounds a little like Kermit here but better than the Rita Coolidge version

Saw him 2 or 3 years ago in Los Angeles at the Orpheum theatre. Fucking amazing show!

by Anonymousreply 17February 15, 2021 1:27 PM

Lucky you r17, I guess he owns a vineyard in CA now

by Anonymousreply 18February 15, 2021 1:29 PM

He is just my type in the Lido video in OP's post. YUM

by Anonymousreply 19February 15, 2021 1:36 PM

He doesn't care for the term "Yacht Rock"

by Anonymousreply 24February 17, 2021 1:55 AM

Love him. Great late 70s, early 80s sound.

by Anonymousreply 25February 17, 2021 2:18 AM

r23 isn't that from the Two Of A Kind (Olivia/Travolta) movie?

by Anonymousreply 26February 17, 2021 2:48 AM

Have all his hit singles. Unique singer. Haven't thought of him in a long time.

by Anonymousreply 27February 17, 2021 3:05 AM

Just you op

by Anonymousreply 28February 17, 2021 3:07 AM

His voice reminds of Aaron Neville

by Anonymousreply 29February 17, 2021 7:04 AM

You are right, r26...Twist Of Fate was Olivia’s big hit from that same soundtrack.

by Anonymousreply 31February 17, 2021 9:22 AM

Love him! Seen him several times, he likes coming to our area north of Santa Barbara. Miss Sun and Harbor Lights are long time favorites, but now I love this song from Dig, a more recent album.

His vineyard was very affected by the fired last year btw.

Love Boz Scaggs. He has quite a wide range of styles but I prefer his ballads - Sierra, Just Go, Whispering Pines, Sunny Gone, Ballad of the Sad Young Men to name a few. Would love to see him in concert but he rarely visits the UK it seems.

He was just my type when he was younger, sad that we all age. But he seems to be doing well for his age. Would like to know more about his first marriage, she sounds like a trip.

by Anonymousreply 35March 1, 2021 10:04 PM

In the comment section of one of his You Tube videos of Jo Jo somebody posted he was fucking one of the background singers. Boz I never!

by Anonymousreply 42July 2, 2021 4:05 PM

His 70s hits take me back in a good way---I'm usually pretty free of nostalgia but the songs capture a nice moment. OTOH, I really stay away from oldies acts and geezers. Time to begin enjoying other music--which actually began for me in the 70s. I hated disco and what was left of am Top 40, as well as the decline of prog rock, so I got into jazz and now I listen more to classical music.

by Anonymousreply 43July 2, 2021 4:14 PM

I saw on an old DL thread somebody claimed to see Boz with a red MAGA hat on. Say it isn't so!
