Polly Walker
She’s a second or third tier actress, but I find she usually elevates the material she’s in. She was great in her In The Line of Duty segment, much less interesting in Bridgerton (a thankless role). She always plays bitches, though seems quite discreet in real life.
And i will always love for her role her a coke fiend that is murdered in Slver. What do you think of her?

She was gorgeous when she was younger, especially in Enchanted April.
I often thought that she and Dawn French looked like twins, although Dawn obviously had a lot more weight.

She's no Jeanne Tripplehorn.

R2 beat me to it. Her character in Rome was such a great character, with a complex arc, that Walker deftly portrayed. Unfortunately, it seems like she hasn't been given the screen time since Rome.

She was terrific in "State of Play", also. I liked that she was plump-ish, and she hit the right notes perfectly.

She's been working steadily post Rome. She's currently in BRIDGERTON.
She was a bit of fun in S1 of PENNYWORTH playing the equally sinister sister of Paloma Faith's Bet Sykes.

She was great in Rome and Prisoners Wives as she always excels in mostly bitchy, nasty, cunty roles.

Early on in her career she was cast for her looks, and as she got older she moved more into character driven roles, whilst still looking great.
Prisoners Wives was a BBC drama where she played drug dealer Iain Glen's wife, It was a bit Lynda la Plante lite, but she was excellent, along with the other main actresses.
She had a small role as a detective in another BBC drama The Syndicate.
Line Of Duty has been her best role though and sums up the type of roles she's known for. Shifty but fuckable.

R1 She was so lovely in Enchanted April. I love that film. I find myself quoting it every now and then. I can definitely see the Dawn French connection.

Anyone else remember her as the sexy IRA terrorist in "Patriot Games"? The same terrorist cell that had young Sean Bean!

Thanks R14 - I guess you and I are the only ones that see the resemblance.

Yes, I adored her in that. She was tough as nails but had variation.

Happy that she is more popular than I thought. I sometimes think of these quit actors than don’t win prizes, do they work and live their lives mostly outside the public’s eyes when Jennifer Lawrence and Mathew Mcwhatever have oscars.
