Help! I just spent over $500 on Abercrombie stuff
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 17, 2021 10:22 PM |
Did you buy sandals and cargos?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 12, 2021 11:13 PM |
:Oh Hon, it won't get you laid.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 12, 2021 11:13 PM |
Did you buy one of their models for half hour of fun?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 12, 2021 11:14 PM |
I thought A&F was so very four years ago.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 12, 2021 11:16 PM |
Are they still open? All the ones at the malls closed down and became Uniqlos.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 12, 2021 11:16 PM |
[quote]Did you buy one of their models for half hour of fun?
This would be the only logical reason to spend $500 on Abercrappy.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 12, 2021 11:16 PM |
Was that your stimulus money?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 12, 2021 11:16 PM |
You do know A&F looks ridiculous on sixty year olds, right??
And honey, they don’t make size XXXL.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 12, 2021 11:18 PM |
Can I have your stuff?
Never mind. It’s Abercrombie.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 12, 2021 11:20 PM |
I loved the smell of Hollister. I would buy clothes and sea shell necklaces. I’d pop my collar. It was a good run till I was late 40s. I looked younger when I spiked my hair with tigi bed head.
I had Abercrombie 8 for the longest time. The best cologne.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 12, 2021 11:25 PM |
R10 I just bought the 10oz to their Fierce cologne. Expensive but so worth it. It’s HUGE
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 12, 2021 11:27 PM |
You like today’s woke A&F?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 12, 2021 11:28 PM |
Don't come crying to us the first time you put it in the washer and it falls apart.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 12, 2021 11:28 PM |
Yes it was Abercrombie Fierce. Not 8 was for women.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 12, 2021 11:28 PM |
That reminds me, has Mike Jeffries been spotted in a COVID-vaccine line recently? Has he been spotted anywhere?
He must be pushing 80 now and I imagine he’s going to have a horrible time trying to convince them that he’s not a hot 19-year-old vaccine thief with a fake Medicare card.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 12, 2021 11:29 PM |
[quote]You like today’s woke A&F?
I know. 😕 The complete opposite.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 12, 2021 11:29 PM |
Is OP posting from 2007?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 12, 2021 11:30 PM |
I’m cracking up that someone bought a 10-oz cologne. How much do you USE?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 12, 2021 11:32 PM |
R14 yes. Fierce is their signature scent for men and I’ve been using it for YEARS. I ran out and went to buy a new bottle (the 3.4oz is $88). I ended up just buying the 10oz so it lasts long ($200!).
I love all their scents, men and women.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 12, 2021 11:34 PM |
Is 10 ounces like a lot? A soda can only holds 12 ounces so it’s way less than that.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 12, 2021 11:35 PM |
R20 the biggest bottle of cologne is usually 3.4 Oz. Anything more is a lot.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 12, 2021 11:36 PM |
I was a twink until my 30s and I used to shop at Abercrombie Kids.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 12, 2021 11:37 PM |
You expect us to believe you can squeeze into Abercrombie clothes?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 12, 2021 11:53 PM |
Kinda lotsa money because you had to buy them in XXXL, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 12, 2021 11:53 PM |
Mike Jeffries looks like Friedrich von Trapp just released from Betty Ford
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 12, 2021 11:57 PM |
Are Abercrombie and Hollister the same thing?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 12, 2021 11:59 PM |
What are we exactly supposed to help you with? Putting your limbs into the sleeves?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 13, 2021 12:02 AM |
They actually just re-released Fierce with a new bottle (they got rid of the models torso) because SJWs were offended by the models abs and chest.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 13, 2021 12:06 AM |
The classic bottle (which is still available too, but you can now get it without the hot body if you prefer)
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 13, 2021 12:06 AM |
Actually, I must apologize for making a crack about a 10 oz bottle of scent, because if I’d known certain ones were going to be discontinued or reformulated, I’d have bought that much.
Sorry, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 13, 2021 12:07 AM |
Haven’t been in A&F in years - do they still spray the stores with Fierce?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 13, 2021 12:18 AM |
R33 yup. That’s their signature, and still sells millions of bottles worldwide. It’s one of the best selling colognes ever.
I believe their scenes are what keep them afloat.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 13, 2021 12:20 AM |
OP are you from 1993?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 13, 2021 12:21 AM |
R35 I was 5/6 in 1993.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 13, 2021 12:22 AM |
Have you looked into A&F’s racist background? Blacks and Asians were made to work in the backrooms because A&F didn’t want minorities on the sales floors
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 13, 2021 12:30 AM |
Actually Abercrombie got rid of the shirtless model bottle in 2017. In 2019 they brought it back with a fit, but not as big, model and the sales skyrocketed.
Now that sales are declining again as people bitch about the shirtless model on the bottle, they brought back the plain bottle as an option again.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 13, 2021 12:30 AM |
Sorry to break it to you OP, but you've been scammed. Abercrombie shut down ages ago.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 13, 2021 12:32 AM |
Abercrombie on 5th Avenue is still open.
And you can shop their website.
That’s the only one in NYC. If you want another you have to travel into NJ or Long Island
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 13, 2021 12:34 AM |
Is the torso at R31 the new not as big model or the old big model?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 13, 2021 2:13 AM |
[quote] Are Abercrombie and Hollister the same thing?
They are from the same company but serving different niches like Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy.
Abercrombie is for college students and sells collegiate clothing.
Hollister is for high school students and sells teen clothing.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 13, 2021 2:16 AM |
R41 yes. The old one also showed more skin, as you see his smooth crotch area too. This upset SJWs as it doesn’t represent everyone’s body type so Abercrombie “rebranded” and got rid of the model.
2 years later they brought one back but covered him up more and sales went back up after a slump in 2018.
The bottle prior below

I remember when Abercrombie and Fitch was a sportsman’s outfitter. They had a shop in the Stamford Mall back in the early 1980s.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 13, 2021 2:30 AM |
R44, where are the pubis? It’s photoshopped out.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 13, 2021 2:38 AM |
Or he shaved them off r47. You know, shaving?
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 13, 2021 2:40 AM |
It doesn’t look shaved.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 13, 2021 2:42 AM |
I hope it was $500 worth of pajamas because that's all anyone is wearing these days.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 13, 2021 3:03 AM |
I remember A&F when it opened in Winter Park, Fl in tge early 80’s. Safari type clothes and maybe even fake elephant tusks.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 13, 2021 3:36 AM |
R51 really? Not what it turned into
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 13, 2021 11:56 AM |
R52,
[quote]If you are reading this blog, you probably already know that Abercrombie & Fitch, the “sexy tween” clothing chain, was once a sportsman’s wonderland that sold camping, hunting and adventure gear to the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Amelia Earhart. But if you didn’t know, this, you are in for a treat! Whenever my 85 year old mom and I pass an “A&F” store now, she will shake her head and talk about how she and my dad used to love shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch. Of course they did! Teddy Roosevelt wore A&F clothes for his trips to Africa and the Amazon. In 1927 A&F outfitted Charles Lindbergh for his cross-Atlantic flight. JFK bought his weekend jackets and shirts there. They were the first store to sell both women’s and men’s clothing in the same place. Fashion forward movie stars like Katherine Hepburn, Clark Gable and Greta Garbo wore Abercrombie and Fitch. In 1964 The Abercrombie & Fitch brand was even featured in the movie Man’s Favorite Sport starring Rock Hudson. Hudson played a fishing expert who worked at A&F.
[quote]Abercrombie and Fitch (A&F) was founded by David Abercrombie, a former trapper, prospector, topographer and railroad surveyor who was a also a brilliant camping equipment designer, as a waterfront shop and factory in downtown New York City under the his own name (David T. Abercrombie Company) in 1892 as a men’s outdoor clothing store. In 1900 an avid customer of Abercrombie’s, a lawyer by the name of Ezra Fitch persuaded Abercrombie to allow him to become a partner in the growing company and the current name reflects the short-lived partnership.

$500? What are you going to do with only ONE sock?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 13, 2021 12:33 PM |
Ethel referenced Abercrombie & Fitch in an episode of I Love Lucy.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 13, 2021 12:41 PM |
Why would anyone get upset by a man’s torso on a bottle of mall cologne?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 13, 2021 1:43 PM |
R57 doesn’t live in 2021. People are outraged over any little thing.
They have a white male models perfect torso there. If you don’t look like that model it is triggering to some people who feel they are saying this is what you need to look like to be “hot”. Wake up.
Plus I’m sure most straight guys don’t feel to masculine having his torso on their bottle
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 13, 2021 1:46 PM |
If you're over 30, you're pathetic.

by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 13, 2021 2:47 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 13, 2021 3:42 PM |
I like their jeans. They have pretty good fit!
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 13, 2021 3:43 PM |
R65. I tried to link to the website, but DL wouldn't let me. If you look at the website there is not one black & white photo of a white twink or twunk anywhere on the page. That's what I was talking about.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 13, 2021 3:44 PM |
R67 it’s known they retooled their image to include plus size and people of color because their sales declined so bad. That’s why so many of their stores closed.
A&F doesn’t work in today’s world.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 13, 2021 3:47 PM |
R66 you type olds.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 13, 2021 3:50 PM |
You can throw as much shade as you can, but admit it. Every ONE of you circled back around for a second look when the shirtless model boys were out front.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 13, 2021 3:59 PM |
How the mighty have fallen? From the WASP’y Old Hollywood set to upper middle class frat boys & A-Gays to all the cool kids in school to trashy poor kids to now become the aspirational clothing of Mexican day laborers and Meth’d out pass-around bottoms. Sad.

So you'll just look foolish.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 13, 2021 6:06 PM |
What is so interesting is the fact the Abercrombie & Fitch used to be that all American, perfect, white person is what made me and my friends buy their stuff.
I remember feeling so ugly and intimidated by the large black and white photos and pretty salespeople who were aloof and judgy with a smile. Subconsciously, It made me think that I could transform into this ideal with the purchase of a polo.
They had a very clear concept and it worked!
That being said, remember when their models were at least hot?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 13, 2021 6:07 PM |

[quote]Jeffries, who is 70, tried to keep up appearances. He lifted weights, barefoot, in the company gym most mornings. He dyed his hair blond and regularly visited his plastic surgeon, according to former executives who spoke on the condition of anonymity. He wore torn Abercrombie jeans and flip-flops around the woodsy campus outside of Columbus, Ohio, though he used to put on his lucky Tod’s loafers to review the numbers every day.
[quote]Mike indelibly linked his entire persona, his soul, to this brand’s image. He even tried to make himself look like his customers. He used to run around in ripped jeans and a T-shirt. He had plastic surgery,” says Lewis.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 13, 2021 6:35 PM |
[quote]Jeffries wrote a 29-page “Look Book” for the sales staff. Women weren’t allowed to wear makeup or colored nail polish. Most jewelry was forbidden. So were tattoos. Hair had to be natural and preferably long. Men couldn’t have beards or mustaches. The only greeting allowed was: “Hey, what’s going on?” Store managers spent one day a week at their local college campus recruiting kids with the right look. They started with the fraternities, sororities, and sports teams. Managers forwarded photos of potential employees to headquarters for approval.

[quote]In 2010, Michael Bustin, 53, a pilot who flew the Abercrombie plane, filed an age discrimination lawsuit against the company. Abercrombie’s general counsel said the suit was without merit. The complaint included a 40-page “Aircraft Standards” manual.
[quote]The four male crew members (models provided to Abercrombie) had to wear jeans, boxers, polo shirts, and flip-flops. The manual specified the seating arrangements for Jeffries’s three dogs, the length of the spoon Smith required for his tea, and the proper way to respond to requests (“No problem”), fold washcloths, vacuum, dust, and present magazines.

[quote]He talked about having faux-fur salons in A&F stores this winter: “I so love that. Isn’t that cool?” (There are no faux-fur salons this winter.)
[quote]In the autumn of 2004, Jeffries introduced Ruehl No.925, a line of clothes for men and women in their mid- to late 20s. He described potential customers as having graduated from college in Indiana and moved to New York City. The Ruehl stores—located in malls—had real brick facades, wrought-iron fences, and antiqued windows to suggest a Greenwich Village town house owned by the fictitious Ruehl family. Ruehl was the only brand in the A&F portfolio allowed to sell black clothes.
[quote]Jeffries introduced a lingerie brand, Gilly Hicks, in 2008. It had an elaborate back story about a woman named Gilly Hicks and her granddaughter who lived in a manor house in Australia. When Beverly House joined Abercrombie to develop Gilly Hicks, she visited Sydney to see what a manor house looked like.
[quote]House says Jeffries hated the way hanging bras looked, so she put most in drawers. “He thought all those bras, with those two big mounds of foam coming at you, was offensive.”

Someone from the UK can correct me if wrong, but I think the brand is still quite popular there and men of all ages seem to wear it without the label of .. you're too old to be wearing that.

They also got rid of those because of SJWs outraged.
Also started selling XXL and 3XL shirts
