Justin Timberlake fucking sucks but these people trying to cancel him for stupid shit that happened two decades ago can kiss off.

Oh FFS the Janet nipple reveal was obviously completely rehearsed by both of them! Otherwise why was she wearing her special nipple decorative clamp on the boob that he revealed?
I won’t comment on his other behaviour but nipplegate was a complete fraud.

Nipple gate may have been rehearsed, but Janet was the only one blacklisted and punished for it. For over a decade. Her career never recovered. Timberlake was a little bitch about it. He's a douche.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 10, 2021 12:14 PM |
The thing about Justin is that he was called out on a LOT of that, but he never did anything that men lost their careers over, at that time. Things changed very quickly; in 2006, when JT was going through the full media rehab that made him cool instead of the joke he had been for a few years, the media was also working really hard to rehabilitate Chris Brown, who is an order of magnitude worse than Justin ever has been.
All the crap he did to either make fun of Prince or trash him got him called out a lot, but it was mostly social media saying that JT was, once again, being a jackass. Then the 2018 Super Bowl thing happened and the criticism has been slowly growing ever since, including in the press, which he honestly deserves. If you go around trashing great musicians and making shitty comments on Twitter and IG, eventually, it's going to catch up to you.
This may be a Britney thing right now, but rest assured, he wouldn't be going through this wave of criticism if there hadn't been growing complaints about his asshole behavior for years prior to the recent documentary.

Perhaps.
Perhaps it’s an acknowledgement of issues that remain unaddressed.
The US has the special and spectacular ability (unlike many other countries) to slap a superficial veneer over everything and “pretend” everything is great.
“We’re number one!”
Look where that has gotten us. (And it’s not a result of Puritanical, Christian judgement.)

by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 10, 2021 2:56 PM |
He was always coddled when there's plently of moments he was a scumbag. I'm more amazed people realized this from a documentary, when he was getting away with it for 20 years.
Forget the he said or did/ she said or did -- He was unjustly vicious towards Britney ever since that break up, making sure to put her down whenever he could. You could tell he was really gunning for her career by knowing her goodie image was important to her success. In an ironic way, he attempted the very thing that's happening to him now -- trying to get her "cancelled" by getting her dropped from kid friendly sponsors and turning fans off (at least the parents of fans.) Not only alluding to her being a slut, he bragged to the world about taking her virginity. Something that can be harmful to female reputations (more so at that time), which he was fully aware of.
As much as cancel culture can be obnoxious, and at times flawed; there's a poetic justice about it all. He had no problem trying to tear down the careers of fellow celebs for decades, but is getting a taste of his own medicine.

Does anyone ever consider the fact that Justin Timberlake had absolutely no power to ruin Janet's career. He was a 22-year-old hayseed who just jumped from a boy band to a solo artist. He had absolutely no influence in the music industry. So even if Justin had stood up more vocally about Janet to the media then what difference would it have made? Leslie Moonves wanted Janet to beg him on her knees and even if she did, he probably would have still blacklisted her.

If Britney wasn't Britney then nobody would be going out of their way to defend her. They ignore her reckless driving which hurt pedestrians, fucking and marrying every guy she saw, her rampant drug abuse, unprofessional behavior and the many times she put her kids in danger. If she was not Britney and some random bitch in LA, everyone would be in favor of putting her into a mental health facility for both their safety and others safety especially pedestrians. Her fans excuse her behavior as postpartum depression but I have never a woman after pregnancy do this nor endanger her kids. She almost lost custody for a reason and this conservatorship is why she even has it back. She is mentally ill with bipolar disorder and has been regressing mentally which is why she is heavily medicated and sheltered right now from the outside world.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 10, 2021 8:18 PM |
I am SO sick of hearing about Janet and Justin and how Justin ruined Janet. Yeah, he acted douchey after the SB but again, it was Janet's show. She was the headliner. She was the star. She was the one who had final approval. And she was the one who wanted Justin to rip off the clothing. Granted, how she was treated after was ridiculous but Justin was not responsible for the puritanical reaction.
Janet needs to take responsibility for her own career and her own decisions. She was not a victim. She decided it would be cool to have Justin rip off her top at one of the biggest televised events, an American tradition. What did she expect? She wanted controversy and she got it. She was no wilting flower. She sealed her fate by that decision. And the fact that she told nobody - not CBS, not the NFL - indicates she knew it was a decision they would not approve. She knew there would be fallout. She just didn't know that it would pretty much end her career.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 10, 2021 11:46 PM |
Britney suffers from pretty female syndrome. Where everyone is willing to defend her and see her as a perpetual victim. They will make excuses for her and coddle her. They can't even accept she is emotionally immature, self-destructive and she has nothing left to offer musically because she lacks the intellectual capability at this point. She is a ticking time bomb and had to be sedated and kept in her home for safety because she was declining and performances were not up to par anymore. She's getting too fragile and ill to do Vegas. It's sad but it is what it is. She was fucked up from an early age and this is the result of it and it's not her fault. She needs to retire and be left alone.
Janet was also pretty which is why people are defensive of her. I'm really not joking. If these were ugly chicks nobody would be defensive of them. Look at how nobody on DL likes defending old and homely girls like Madonna, Gaga, Fantasia and Demi but will defend pretty ones like Cher, Ariana, Beyoncé and Miley.
This is just my theory.

R66
Why is she in a conservatorship which are regularly reviewed yearly by mental health specialists and are reserved for people with severe problems? Also have you seen her social media where she is clearly medicated and showing how she can't dance? She was checked into in a mental health clinic last year when her father had health complications. Her breakdown between 2005 to 2007 was horrific and what is to say she hasn't had more?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 11, 2021 12:11 AM |
R67 - if you read anything about how this woman suckered her dad into getting Brittany into a conservatorship, you could see how it could drive her a bit crazy sometimes.
This same woman tried to take over Courtney Love's accounts as a conservator. This woman has a scammy Christian pastor husband whose church she's been funneling some of Brittany's money.
She showed up on Brittany's fucking door one day and said she wanted to help her. This woman and her dad took over her life - along with Kevin Federline taking away the kids. You'd fucking breakdown too.
All we know is what has been put out there which is almost entirely negative about Brittany. Give her the benefit of the doubt instead of slamming her with your 'theories'.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 11, 2021 12:17 AM |
You think that some woman can convince the entire court of California to trap a wealthy celebrity like Britney into a conservatorship and renew it every year smoothly?
Britney was going to lose custody when she drove with her son on her lap, was driving her car into crowds of paparazzi and holding her sons hostage in a room. If she wasn't Britney you not defend that behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 11, 2021 12:21 AM |
R69 - with the help of her uneducated but well-meaning Dad, yes.
A source said that Spears’s father allegedly checked her into the facility last year and offered to blame it on his own health issues. Spears herself said that she did not go in voluntarily and they were forcing her to take 'medications'.
Anyone should look at this situation and go - something's not right here. Conservatorships are for the elderly and extremely mentally ill - she's done several tours and residencies since it went into place in 2007. It was supposed to expire in 2009, but it keeps getting renewed - how? We don't know.
But you're telling me Brittany is crazier than Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, or any number of celebrities - NONE of whom are under conservatorship?
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 11, 2021 12:25 AM |
Britney's money is kept track by the courts and while I believe her family is greedy. I doubt Britney could handle her own money and would get taken advantage even worse than what her current situation is now. Anyone who is older than 25 and not a diehard stan can see Britney Spears is mentally ill. She showed signs prior to her breakdown.
R70 They aren't in a conservatorship because YOU can't force someone into one unless they are proven to be harmful to others and themselves. That's why we actually have a homelessness problem.
Britney voluntarily went into one to regain custody.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 11, 2021 12:28 AM |
Britney who cares? She is talentless. Hilarious the dumb poster who said she now lacks the intellectual capacity? Bout waht? She is less easy to control now, that's what's true. Her lover is a gorgeous man. I hope he helps her beat up her dead ass father and gets her money back. It is true that they don't keep granting conservatorships for no reason. But Britney should go on strike and refuse to perform EVER again. (or what they call performing) Why make her family tens of millions in fees? She's a very stupid woman who is ALSO is mentally ill. Justin is no gentleman. Britney was cute and she loves sex. He tried to hurt her publicly for no reason at all. Very uncool.
Janet's costume was no more ready to rip away than any bustier. That was high end material and design. Lots of kink clothes have that tear away breast plate. Jackson was famous for her body piercings at that time. Ugly Justin raped her on stage. I vote CANCEL his flat ass.
Long before Buzzfeed this was raised and trended worldwide. Just not on Datalounge. When Justin did his lame Super Bowl show - the whole world co opted it to declared it #Justice4Janet day instead. And so it was. His show bombed. The egregious Prince atrocity didn't get near as much attention as his continued disrespect and lack of contrition towards Ms. Jackson.
I am not Janbot, but it's insane that old white gays on DL can't see that Janet Jackson was unduly punished because she was A, Female and B, Black. No way did she intend what happened. Timberlake gave some fake lie apology and continued on being ugly. Janet is a legend. And yes, she is beloved.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 11, 2021 3:40 AM |
R72 I think she had intellectual capability during her first couple of albums. She sang better and danced better and chose her outfits and cowrote a few songs like Dear Diary and Everytime. She clearly declined mentally and you could see that. Compare her in 2000 to 2016. She went from lively to a zombie. Her voice went from a low southern drawl to a high pitched mouse voice. She acts like a kid in her IG videos and her makeup and hair is terrible. Sam isn't her boyfriend, he's just there to keep her company and wants her fortune.
Janet was humiliated unfairly but it was a stunt that backfired. Her career wasn't really destroyed it fizzled out due to her old age just Madonna. Janet was blacklisted but could have still heavily promoted her work and could have been more vocal on her mistreatment from Moonves. Janet didn't spin the controversy to her own advantage. Nobody is defending Justin. We just know that there's more to the situations than just him and he's not the major source of their decline.

I don't think she even takes care of her kids. She only has 30% custody. They just hang out at her mansion and she just takes selfies with them. She doesn't seem like a parenting type and given how her mother Lynne didn't parent Britney much, she has no example. I personally don't think she should have any custody period because how she endangered her sons lives during her breakdown. This isn't the first time Timberlake has surrendered to SJW's. Remember when he had to apologize for "cultural appropriation"? What a spineless wimp. He should have said nothing. Like everything else, it will pass.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 13, 2021 2:08 AM |
There is no such thing as an SJW. The world has changed. People see the documentary and we are sensitized to his mindset and behavior with Britney. No one is being a warrior. Social justice is not for a court of law. He's lost millions of fans before this documentary brought his "issues" back to light.
The only reason Justin should NOT have apologized is because he is insincere and 10 years late. So it will hurt his sorry white flat ass further. GOOD. DL posters are mostly out of touch. Timberlake has been low key cancelled for years now - for his appropriation of black music, his overall douchebag vibes, his smug ugly countenance and MOST importantly for his part in the destruction of Janet Jackson. Like most white men, he's a coward.
The end. Of him.

R85
SJW means someone who preaches and harasses others who have a different opinion or attitude towards and are often condescending even to people of color and LGBT. Usually SJWs are white women or white guys who are themselves middle-class and do not have real issues, so they decide to become the voice of people who are actually marginalized despite the fact those people can speak for themselves and may not agree with what the SJWs are preaching.
Also SJWs are obsessed with pop culture and celebrities and are always trying to cancel them. When actual people who are struggling with racism, homophobia and classism do not care about this and have real problems in the real world to face.
So usually when people say someone is an SJW it makes they are condescending and out-of-touch and this whole harassing JT to apologize is an example because most black people didn't care back then and do not care now. Also Britney is the example of white privilege because she is barely talented and everyone defends all of her terrible choices and actions because she is a pretty blonde white girl. Her career could have went to a more talented black female artist.

You're a liar R86.

R89 How so? I care more about police brutality, poverty in the inner-cities, black graduation rates, mass incarceration, pollution in black neighborhoods, lack of universal healthcare, job and housing discrimination, etc. Things that actually affect me as a black male!
I don't give a shit about JT and Janet's stunt backfiring. We all knew that Janet planned this and the only people who are vocal on this are Janet stans and black women who are rightfully bitter about misogynoir.

Enough with this.
Britney has nothing to do with black people except hijacking Aaliyah and Janet's dancing and fashion style and T-Boz's vocal fry voice. I'm sick of some white girl feminists trying to compare the media's reaction to Janet to the media reaction of Britney. It wasn't the same. Janet got no sympathy and was blacklisted while Britney got tons of sympathy and forgiveness and chance at a comeback for doing much much worse. Britney benefits from white female privilege all the way. Rihanna got mocked for getting beat up by Chris Brown. Whitney got mocked for losing her voice and her drug addiction. Beyoncé and Mariah both got mocked for lip syncing despite singing live most of the time. Britney gets away with almost injuring her sons many times, attacking people and recklessly driving, she gets away with not singing at all and she still gets paid for her lazy lip-synced performing. She in fact stole Kevin Federline from his black baby mama Shar Jackson. She is always the victim in everything. You cannot be a hypocrite and bash Timberlake for his white privilege yet ignore Britney who is an even worse example of it. I'm sorry

R91 is absolutely correct, and this is coming from a Britney fan.
I couldn’t care less about JT. I just wish the Twitter “activists” would mess with the right one, and get their collective asses handed to them.

Everything is "problematic" to these people. Newsflash: If you find everything problematic, you're the fucking problem.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
