DL Fave Megan Mullally Staring In London Revival of Anything Goes....
Evening Standard Theatre Award winner Felicity Kendal (The Good Life, Much Ado About Nothing) will make her West End musical debut as Evangeline Harcourt opposite Gary Wilmot (Chicago, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Elisha Whitney in the upcoming London revival of Anything Goes.
The duo join the previously announced Emmy winner Megan Mullally and Tony and Olivier winner Robert Lindsay as, respectively, Reno Sweeney and Moonface Martin. The production, originally scheduled to begin performances in May, will now kick off its 11-week engagement at the Barbican June 5. Additional casting will be announced soon.

Ugh, Robert Lindsey is a creepy Corbyn supporter who dismissed the EHRC's finding of Labour having harassed and unlawfully discriminated against Jews.
He's the British left wing version of Q Anon. JewAnon if you will.

It is hoped that West End and other live performing venues in London or UK for that matter will slowly begin reopening by April or May 2021. Everything is going on hopes that the vaccination scheme takes and infection numbers drop obviously.
Right or wrong there does seem to be some push (if however quiet or small) to get things open again and bring some semblance back of normal life.
In contrast here in NY between Cuomo in Albany and BdeB in city hall things may be shut down until God only knows when.

Felicity Kendall admitted last night on Graham Norton that she can't sing.

Aren't these people a little too old for the show? Megan is 62 and Felicity is 74.
Who's going to play Reno Sweeney? Angela Lansbury?

R8. If you bothered to read, you’d see Millay is playing Reno.
They don’t sound as enfeebled as you.

They're deliberately casting people over 60 as they're the ones who'll be vaccinated, and they appeal to pensioners who'll go and see it and will also be vaccinated.

Chita, Ginger and Miss Ann Miller all played Reno at advanced ages. It's weird how a site as old skewing as DL gets a bee in its bonnet about such casting.

Not going to happen. Hospital admission rates remain stubbornly high. The over 50s won't be vaccinated before May. The vaccines are only shown to be 70% effective. I certainly will not be taking my 92 year old dad to watch any West End shows anytime soon. Who the fuck wants to share an enclosed space with God knows how many other vaccinated and unvaccinated people for a couple of hours. Jesus fucking Christ! This is fucking Tory Lloyd Webber wanting to kill Grannies off in vast numbers.
