What Does DL Think About the 90’s Homoerotic Action Thriller ‘Point Break’?

"Johnny Utah" has to be one of the dumbest character names in movie history. That and "Count Dooku".

I loved the surfing and the soundtrack. And Keanu at his hottest. It was fun.

It was fun, except when they brought that annoying girl in to make it seem less gay. Of course she was as butch as Rosie O'Donnell so she didn't exactly waft heteronormativity over the whole mess!

Definitely a guilty pleasure of a movie, it's stupid but Reeves and Swayze look so hot, and their relationship is so intense!

Only a few years before Vida Boheme, too!

I love that Johnny Utah recognized them as the robbers by the guy's ass.

The name "Johnny Utah" was supposed to make people think of "Joe Montana", as if all star quarterbacks need to be named after states.

Petty obvious who Johnny had hard on for and it wasn't the dyke.

This came on the tv last week. And i never liked the ending. Feels tacked on.

Until they used it to death, I laughed my ass off when Tony called Thor “point break” in the avengers movie.

I'd love a remake where they jettisoned the useless female lead and just had Johnny and Bodhi engage in a passionate affair. It could even still end tragically as long as we got at least one really hot sex scene.

There was a remake, where the robbers were Extreme Sports nutters instead of surfers.

There was a lot of extreme sports action and some good-looking guys, and they even tried for a bit of homoerotic tension, but the movie fell flat and I think it bombed.

I never watched that garbage remake, and I never will.

I wanted both of them in me, quite deeply.
