I think Michael was likely jealous of Prince's self confidence in his looks. Michael, as we know, had a few wee issues in that regard.

This is the stupidest post. People are often jealous of others even if they're more successful on paper/statistically. Is that really that hard to understand? No he wasn't jealous about record sales or money, but are those the only reasons people are jealous?

Think of how people are jealous in your own life - people are jealous of people who "know who they are", their sense of self; people are jealous of other people's happiness, their relationships. People are jealous of other people's control over their lives, jealous of people's lack of fear. And that's just a few things. As important, people are jealous of things they perceive another person has - just the perception that people have the things listed can make people jealous, whether it's true or not.

Wrote his own songs, played multiple instruments, amazing vocal range, could dance, influenced many other artists, produced and written for many artists, released albums every year and has enough music in his vault for 20+ more albums. Prince's legal battle with Warner Bros. and changing his name to a symbol was pretty badass. So the fascination was he was an all-around artist with multiple talents.

Prince is extremeley talented, probablly the most talented artist of the rock era. Plays something like 20+ intstruments (most at least very well, some great) and he's one of the most prolific songwriters.

But it's because there is no possible way for them to sound like they do on the recorded version. The songs are just too heavily processed to be sung live.
