She hasn't changed.
Katherine is still "difficult" and "unprofessional" (read: CUNT).
A leopard can't change its stripes.
She must have been putting out like a whore for Hollywood casting directors, because she still had a lot of steady work compared to other actresses.

This whole article is an UNAPOLOGY and sounds like Trump does. Who the fuck responds an Emmy, and did she really think it was all about her- that the people writing/prepping/filming might have had some shine gleam from her Emmy as well? What a cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 29, 2021 11:49 PM |
No one was demanding to see Katherine Heigl so they were more than happy to find actresses who are less "opinionated". You played yourself bitch
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 29, 2021 11:50 PM |
She correctly states that asshole-ish behavior is generally tolerated in the entertainment industry (and probably most others) as long as said asshole is bringing in the cash but fails to acknowledge that she was never the main draw or a huge moneymaker, so there was no reason for anybody to tolerate her. This reminds me of Suzanne Somers recasting her stupid attempt to extort more money out of ABC/Three's Company as a feminist stand.

I never watched GRAY’S ANATOMY, so I only know this starlet from a bad romcom where she played a disgruntled bridesmaid.
Her losing out on projects doesn’t seem like a great loss.

by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 30, 2021 12:13 AM |
If she didn’t like her role in Grey’s Anatomy, she had every right to leave at the earliest opportunity. Instead, she basically announced to the world that she thought the scripts were garbage.
If she didn’t like the role she had in Knocked Up, she could have refused it. It’s basically a story that has been told a million times before: infantilised male moron meets sensible female shrew and hijinks ensue, so she presumably knew what she was getting into. Instead, she took a lead role in the movie and then decided to try to make herself look like a feminist hero by shitting all over it.
In whatever career you are in, imagine for a minute that you went to the press and announced that you felt that your present employer was making an inferior product and has poor morals. How would your boss react? And what do you think your career prospects in your industry would be?

Mostly, I agree, she's horrible; difficult, BUT here's the thing on the Emmy; I see sooo many people throwing their hats in the ring when they have no business doing so.
Perhaps if she phrased it differently: "I am so grateful to ABC, Shonda, and everyone at Grey's Anatomy for Izzie and the wonderful stories I've been privileged to play. I am grateful for my Emmy and for everyone who voted for me. This year, I'm going to take a year off from competing so that someone else can experience the joy of hearing their name being called."

by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 30, 2021 6:59 AM |
I question honestly if she is a big cunt, or if it’s just that Hollywood hates women who speak up for themselves and don’t put up with shit. I read an article about how she got shit for talking about how silly the plot for “Knocked Up” is. It was something along the lines of her character being the mature one, yet being painted as some sort of bitch for wanting Seth Rogan’s character to grow up. Not to mention how ridiculous it was for somebody as attractive as Kathrine to be with a fat slob like Seth in the first place. She got slammed for that article and Seth Rogan was all butthurt about what she said. She wasn’t really wrong, though.

Zoloft is fantastic. Saved my sanity.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 30, 2021 7:03 AM |
Of course she wasn't wrong, but it was stupid to say all that in an interview. Her job is to promote her projects, not shit all over them and the people who produced them.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 30, 2021 7:05 AM |
I have no pity for her. She presumably read the "Knocked Up" script before taking the role.

"If she didn’t like her role in Grey’s Anatomy, she had every right to leave at the earliest opportunity. Instead, she basically announced to the world that she thought the scripts were garbage."
The issue here was that the GA crew bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule because films were of course more important for Miss Heigl, she made that point very clear. Then for her to turn around and blame them for the weak material she got - seriously?
Maybe she should not have taken advice from her cunty mother. Just saying.

She was a cunt for doing the movie and then being a cunt about it afterward, trying to ruin it for everyone who worked on making the film. If she didn’t like the script, she shouldn’t have done the movie.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 30, 2021 9:56 AM |
All drama aside, an Actors jobs are perform and promote. She is an ok performer but a terrible promoter. Why bother?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 30, 2021 1:12 PM |
R32 - no, there were two problems with what she said:
1) You don't shit over a movie you're promoting or have recently been in, particularly if it's a hit. That goes with any business.
2) She said it was sexist because the women looked like shrews and the guys were lovable. How about how the men were painted as complete fuck ups and the women had it all together and had the right priorities in the film?
And if you want to talk about the general attractiveness of Seth Rogen, then let's talk about the unfair advantage Heigl has because of her looks. But no - we can't say that there aren't better actresses for the part but that Heigl got it because of her beauty and TV fame.
If you have problems with a script, make suggestions to the director (once you have enough industry cred) or just shut the fuck up and do your job. Here's what Seth said:
"I was having a really good time, and then when I heard afterwards that she didn’t like it, that she seemed to not like the process, and she did not like the end product either. I think when that happens — also your trust feels somewhat betrayed. We have a very open process. We’re like, ‘You have the ability to say anything at any moment. I don’t like how I’m coming across here.’”
It doesn't seem like there was a closed discussion about this and Apatow was open to other perspectives. To then go and slam the film later is just stupid and shows a lack of awareness.
She's a narcissist.

I knew I wasn’t making this up — sure Byrnn was obviously a coke addict and overall psycho, but there’s been a lot of controversy over Zoloft — people getting suicidal, etc. I’ve never heard of anyone taking it after the late 90s, I don’t think it’s popular at all to prescribe anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 31, 2021 7:23 PM |
One can be outspoken and advocate for herself without being a total bitch (Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling...). It speaks volumes that nobody who works with her ever has anything good to say about Katherine. Point to one director, producer, or actor who has gone on to work with her on subsequent projects. Just one! She’s a good actress and still beautiful, but every job requires nurturing relationships in order to be successful.
Sadly, every single one of us knows a Katherine Heigl, and self-introspection isn’t their strong suit. Only her fellow mega cunts could even begin to justify her behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 31, 2021 7:29 PM |
I always think the argument of "What about the male actors who behave badly? Everyone thinks thinks they're great and they get away with it" that actresses use when they're accused of being monsters isn't very convincing. It's like complaining to a cop who pulled you over for speeding that everyone else is speeding too.
Moreover, many men in Hollywood who pull this crap decidedly do NOT get away with it: nobody wanted to work with Val Kilmer or Mike Myers anymore after they were shown to be huge assholes on set.
Also, many of the women who made this argument most loudly in the Nineties, like Roseanne and Sharon Stone, have since been shown to be batshit crazy. And the bitchy bullying behavior they got away with was absolutely not to ensure quality control (as they claimed at the time): everyone agrees that the more Roseanne got her own way and fired people who disagreed with her, the worse "Roseanne" became.
Finally NO ONE should act like an asshole on set. If male stars like Marlon Brando have been allowed to do that, shame on them for being assholes. the people who let them do it were enablers.
Katherine Heigl was given great career opportunities with both "Grey's Anatomy" and "The 40 Year-Old Virgin." For her to badmouth the writers after she had her successes with them was ungrateful both to her writers and to the audiences who enjoyed her in them.Iif she was unhappy with 40YOV's script and concept, she never should have done it in the first place.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 31, 2021 7:51 PM |
r50, even if Zoloft has been shown to have a possible correlation with suicide, that does not excuse murder.
Murder and suicide are two very different things. You'd have to give me a TON of data to convince me Zoloft causes people to murder other people.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 31, 2021 7:53 PM |
Sorry: I meant "Knocked Up," not "40 year-Old Virgin."
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 31, 2021 7:54 PM |
R52, you are so right.
Think of the current crop of men in Hollywood who’ve enjoyed long, successful careers...Denzel Washington, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey...not a single rumor about them being difficult or assholes. I think there was definitely a time when assholish behavior would be tolerated or protected, but those days are long gone.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 31, 2021 8:01 PM |
R53 not sure where I was trying to justify that lol, just linked that to show there’s been controversy with the drug more generally - it’s definitely not popular anymore.
As for “difficult “ men who still get tons of work, Alec Baldwin and Christian Bale are just two example. They tend to me tolerated if they’re talented (which Val Kilmer isn’t) and bring in money (which Mike Meyers stopped doing).
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 31, 2021 8:18 PM |
There are some actors who are awful to be around and make the lives of everyone on set miserable. Not sure she counts as one of em. Some grow out of it. Anxiety is a huge part of it in almost all cases. Really have to get into specifics because some actors are nightmares for the studio, some are pleasant and appropriate to everyone they deem on their level and evil towards those they see as below them.
For example, actors who sleep late drive studios insane but that doesnt make them bad people and it actually helps everyone on set get paid a ton more money. Hard to read too much into what people say in interviews because its usually their own warped perspective.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 31, 2021 8:24 PM |
Why doesn’t she bitch about that abortion of a film she did with Ashton Kutcher instead? Or better yet, keep her mouth shut, be a professional, and do your job. The mother sounds like a real piece of work. One Emmy doesn’t make you the new Meryl Streep ok. She’s always seemed like a totally humorless cunt. I’m surprised she gets ANY work nowadays.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 31, 2021 8:24 PM |
There are still also actresses who get branded as difficult yet who still get lots of work: Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, Diane Keaton.
Again, it helps if you're talented and can make studios money. Same as for male actors. But if you've got mediocre talent, and/or if your films don't make money, why would anyone want to work with you if you're difficult?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 31, 2021 8:31 PM |
She seems so unapologetic. If you read a script and didn’t like it then why do the film?

[quote]Denzel Washington, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey...not a single rumor about them being difficult or assholes.
I've always said Keanu Reeves has the career he has, despite his lack of acting talent or at least inability to do heavy duty lifting, because he's nice, people like him and they like working with him. That can take you a long way.
I dealt with Katherine years ago and she was nice. She DOES give off a bitch vibe. However, she was nothing but kind for those few days. I think she's aware of it though and tries not to come across that way to a certain extent, if that makes any sense. I was nobody however. I don't know how she'd act with people who had real control or power. I just felt like she was one of those women who wouldn't take shit from anyone and to me that wasn't a bad thing but I can see how people would feel threatened.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 31, 2021 9:23 PM |
One thing is to be demanding and unpleasant to work with , but another one is to trash the proyects you suppouse to promote, it's part of the job of the actors. It's very unprofessional and that piss off the people who takes the decision; directors, producers and executives. You can shit in the wig of the cockroaches extras, but never say anything negative about the show
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 31, 2021 9:36 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 31, 2021 9:38 PM |
Speaking of difficult actors: did Christian Bale disappear after the Dick Cheney movie? I've yet to see him since, but I see far fewer things these days because of COVID.
What's hard with him is that I think he genuinely KNOWS it's wrong to be an asshole on set, but he has a terrible temper and can't help himself sometimes. That doesn't excuse him, but I know when he has a meltdown it's different than when Tom Cruise (who thinks he's justified in everything he does since he is his fake-religion's Chosen One) has a meltdown. Cruise is never sorry unless it gets him in trouble; Bale seems genuinely sorry.

R59 JLaw is trashy and says obnoxious things but I’ve never heard about her being difficult to work with. Nor the other two — and Diane Keaton is one of those I would argue the reason she’s still working at approximately 100 years old, crap films and all — is just the opposite (obviously) ; extremely professional reputation and easy to work with (what I’ve heard consistently).
Sharon Stone is a much better example of the latter (though I still love her) and her career has been dead for 20 years (or more). She also didn’t become A list until she was 35 which gave her a ridiculously small window anyway.

Likewise Julianna Margulies and The Good Wife and Mariska Hargitay with SVU. The excellent TGW got so bad so quickly it was cancelled. I can't believe people still watch SVU but they do and the ratings have been good enough that the show has been renewed for another couple of seasons in advance despite its being crap for years now.
