Should the anti-trans trolls be banned?

I am really fucking sick of it.

Muriel needs to start patrolling this site for actual hatred. It has gone too far. It doesn't matter is the hate is targeted at black people, women, trans people or anyone else. We have seen for years now that these sorts of forums incubate and encourage hatred to spread and it erupts in real life among people whose minds get fucked up from it.

Bitchy is one thing. Hate is not bitchy. Put a stop to it, Muriel. You don't want to be held responsible for owning a website that has been used to incubate hatred.

Weirdly, the OP of that thread now has eleven upvotes. A minute ago they just had one.

R4 I did not post that as an anti-anything troll. I posted it in sincere good faith to ask other gay men if they have insights into working with HRC because I am a middle-aged white man who has received messages for months suggesting I apply for a job there for which I am qualified on paper, and I can't figure out if HRC represents the interests of gay men anymore. I asked for insights and I made that clear. 20 years ago, HRC fought for gay rights and I maintain memory of that and feel drawn to the organization because of it. But after seeing Charlotte Clymer represent the organization by personally insulting people including gay men all over Twitter for years, and after seeing that statement that the org is seeking just about anyone other than white men to apply for work, I wanted insights into whether the org actually has a vested interest in issues that affect all gay men or if it has changed to something different. If you are motivated to stalk me and review my posting history, you will find that I am almost always civil and that I have never posted hatred toward any group, including transgender people or women. I am one of the seemingly very few people who posts on this site who has no issue with L, G, B and T all being grouped together for the sake of pursuing equal human and civil rights for all people--all people, equally, not anyone receiving preferential treatment.

Criticism will be relabeled as hate in order to justify crushing dissent. Who watches the watchers?

I've been on the DL for several years. It's my favorite site on the internet -- by far. It has its own little subculture, with its own inside jokes and jargon. I can find threads on entertainment, porn, politics, history, literature, travel, fashion, mental health/addiction, the always entertaining "Let's Be" threads, and life questions here (for example, the recent threads on how to cope with the death of a parent.) Nowhere else makes me laugh like the DL. I tend to be too liberal with my W&Ws, but there are some truly witty bitches here.

THAT said, it is not the place to have intelligent, thoughtful, or nuanced discussions about race or trans issues. Period. Those threads attract trolls like moths to a light.

Yes they should be 100% banned OP. I have posted about them here a few times. It's fucking appalling that they are here on a gay website inciting relentless hatred against another marginalized group of people. Unacceptable.

The anti-trans trolls are the worst haters on DL and Muriel should be ashamed to leave their threads on Datalounge as an beacon to other transgender haters to come here and add to the discrimination and vitriol. And you can bet if they hate trans people then they hate gay men too but they are very careful not to cross the line.

Here a clip of Tucker Carlson shitting all over transgender people (which he and others on Fox News do regularly) and it's exactly the same language, word for word as what the anti-trans trolls use here on DL. It's literally word for word. They just repeat it over and over. It's also very similar to what Christians say about gay people.
