I KNOW I HAD COVID IN NOVEMBER 2019

I know I caught it in November. I was sicker than I’ve ever been in my life. I was sick for over a month and my normal chest CT in May 2019 was repeated in May 2020 and my lungs are permanently damaged and have non-stop inflammation. I’ve never been short of breath in my life and was short of breath starting in early December 2019 & I’ve been short of breath ever since. I couldn't make it to my dr office until the first week of January. I told her of how I was afraid I was going to die. She shrugged & said, “There’s more than one flu virus, so even though you got your flu shot in early October there are other flus going around.”

I told her earlier this month I wanted a covid antibody test (who can it hurt?) and she said no.

I know it was covid.

get another doctor and diagnosis, dear.

by Anonymousreply 1January 26, 2021 9:38 PM

Maybe you got poz. Are you a barebacking whore?

by Anonymousreply 2January 26, 2021 9:39 PM

Don't EVER go back to that doctor, and you can get antibody tests independent of a doctor.

by Anonymousreply 3January 26, 2021 9:40 PM

Get a new doctor.

by Anonymousreply 4January 26, 2021 9:42 PM

I think I had it in January, 2020. We now know that it’s possible.

by Anonymousreply 5January 26, 2021 9:42 PM

OP, what was her reason (if any given) for saying no to a test?

by Anonymousreply 6January 26, 2021 9:44 PM

OMG OP same here we are 'Rona Cis-ters. Thanksgiving of 2019 I was sicker than a motherducking dog and I unwittingly gave it to a family friend who most certainly got sick from me and she later tested positive for Covid. Still haven't been tested and I'm definitely not pozzing anybody now because I'm undetectable 'Rona poz.

End the stigma.

An antibody test may not come back as positive given that it was over a year ago.

I also thought I had it after Christmas in 2019, and got the antibody test in the spring. Negative.

I got the test for free at a Walgreens. Check the big chains that are doing testing. No doctors referral needed.

Do you live somewhere that may have imported covid early? It would be more likely in Seattle than Sioux City. That sad lot of people are convinced they had it in 2019, I've heard people claiming to have had it in the summer of 2019. What makes me doubtful is that I have in the past had cases of flu that just floored me and left me with breathlessness, lack of energy, and weakness for months after. My father caught the same flu I did back in 2016 and his lungs have shown a little damage ever since. I would just go pay for the antibody test, you may have had covid but your doctor could also be right because all of the covid symptoms can happen with the flu. I completely lost my sense of smell and taste during that 2016 flu too.

R9 my soon to be ex . we are pretty sure he had it summer of 2019. It was scary but he doesn't like to involve conventional medicine

by Anonymousreply 10January 26, 2021 10:01 PM

Sue that bitch!

by Anonymousreply 11January 26, 2021 10:02 PM

I think I had it in January 2020. A relative from the Kirkland area came for Christmas, and I was sick for an entire month.

by Anonymousreply 12January 26, 2021 10:04 PM

The first known case was November 2019 in China and knowing how contagious it is, it seems impossible for an American to have had it during the summer of 2019.

by Anonymousreply 13January 26, 2021 10:08 PM

You can find a low cost or free one. Call around.

by Anonymousreply 14January 26, 2021 10:16 PM

OP you need a new doctor. And get yourself an antibody test. Definitely. You mention CT scan. Do you get them regularly for lung problems?

by Anonymousreply 15January 26, 2021 10:22 PM

What r8 had happen to them is common. Lots of people think they had it early, but an antibody test shows otherwise.

There are lots of viruses that will make you sick. Doesn't mean it was covid.

It is unlikely you had Covid in 2019.

I would sometimes exercise with a woman in 2019 and early 2020. We would be near each other, but not closer than 2 feet or so. In December she went to a massive holiday party held by the multinational company she worked for. Which included employees from their Wuhan division. She said that in January she got the worst cough she had ever had. I got the weirdest sore throat that would come and go throughout January, but that's all. I don't remember exactly when we were near each other in December and January.

by Anonymousreply 17January 26, 2021 10:28 PM

OP, I am also sure I had it... in 1987, but my doctor wont order the goddamn tests. I also am sure I have HIV. I know exactly when I got it, in 1974, but my antibodies are negative. My doctor refuses to order special labs that I read about on a subreddit to prove the normal HIV test doesn’t work for me.

by Anonymousreply 18January 26, 2021 10:30 PM

I had it 1918. I am sure of it.

by Anonymousreply 19January 26, 2021 10:36 PM

^^Dayum.

by Anonymousreply 20January 26, 2021 10:45 PM

OP -

Medical researchers are determining that Covid was circulating much earlier than the timelines purported in mainstream media.

Even here on DL (prior to Covid being introduced into public consciousness) there was a thread around the holiday season 2019 involving a “very bad flu”. No surprise that posters were discussing symptoms eerily similar to the virus: dry, long-lasting cough, anosmia, loss of taste, exhaustion and concerns of the seriousness of what they were experiencing.

I suspect that when put into perspective, we will discover that Covid was circulating in 2019 and began much earlier than reported.

PS: Would suggest seeking another physician who listens to you and your concerns. I’d order you a Covid test based on your description.

by Anonymousreply 21January 26, 2021 11:21 PM

You can request a test through Labcorp, no need for a doctor. They will bill your insurance.

by Anonymousreply 22January 26, 2021 11:30 PM

Enough self-diagnosing. You didn't have it until a test confirms. Plenty of places will charge you $150 for an antibody test, then you can come back and confirmatia.
