Really?
Chicago will have snow for the next week, with temperatures continuously below freezing.
Same for Minneapolis, except it will be even colder.
Why are you such liars?

Currently alternating between rain and snow here in Tucson, AZ! Can't even fathom what snow with subzero temperatures is like for weeks on end. Stay strong!

Mountains surrounding Palm Springs, Ranch Mirage, Indian Wells covered with snow. Quite a sight this morning. Top of the tram a winter wonderland. In just a few months, it will be 115 and 105 degrees at midnight. What a world.

Minneapolis here! Love cold weather and snow. Bring on the blizzard.

Does anyone know what OP is going on about?

R2 i love it when that happens out there

It doesn't snow in the mid-Atlantic region, not like it used to.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 26, 2021 10:30 PM |
Who said it doesn't snow anymore? What we are saying is that winters the last few years have been milder than most. Here is Chicago this is first major snowstorm. Its the last week of Jan. That is highly unusual.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 26, 2021 10:32 PM |
Minnesota isn’t the Midwest. Either is Illinois. Minnesota is the northern plains and Illinois is the great lakes region.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 26, 2021 10:34 PM |
What r7 said.
No one has said there is no longer a winter. They said on average winters are not as bad as in the past. Which is true.

Really? Drama much? You sound a bit worked up, OP.
What are you really mad about?

Here, I found the thread.
It was a thread about Chicago. It's a long one (200+ posts), but you'll find Midwesterners whining and whining about the lack of snow now in Chicago, as well as the lack of cold.
Then do a google search of "Chicago Weather," and tell me if you see snow and cold in the forecast.
So yeah... add "whiners, complainers, and liars" to the list of Midwestern personality traits.

@r8, "Minnesota isn’t the Midwest. Either is Illinois"
Malarkey! I'm from Chicago and have been a mid-westerner all my life
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 26, 2021 11:14 PM |
Wow, you are one petty ho.
What are you really mad about? Don't hold back now, drama queen. You got everyone's attention. Here's your forum,
Are you really mad that some people didn't see the weather forecast? Tell us what's going on. Use your words.

The idea of Illinois not being the Midwest is one of the dumbest things I've seen on this board.
Illinois is the *defining state* of the midwest.

Not dumber than R13.

I’m in Maine, and this afternoon I raked the lawn.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 26, 2021 11:33 PM |
Chicago is at the top of the state on Lake Michigan. I’m in Illinois 2 hours away and we got nothing but a dusting . Years ago it used to be that there were several inches of snow on the ground most of the winter.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 26, 2021 11:35 PM |
^^ You down-staters always get the shitty end of the stick. No snow for you ;-)
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 26, 2021 11:45 PM |
Winter has slipped another month. Winter with constant temperatures low enough to allow snow accumulation used to occur around Christmas. You’d get storms before then, but everything would melt off. In the last 20 years that hard freeze with accumulated snow has slipped into February.
Climate models predict Chicago will have a New Orleans environment.
Unusual weather killed off my peony and rhododendron blooms two different years. It was bizarre summer weather in lat February followed by a harsh snow that just fucked everything up.

R18 Except in the summer when Chicago turns into Chiraq without fail.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 26, 2021 11:48 PM |
It doesn't snow like it use to is what we, Chicagoans, have noticed. It's been years since a snow storm like this mornings.

Then there's this gem from the Independent of the U.K.

I hope our 2015 thread bumper someday makes his way to bumping 2021 threads, because I would bet cold hard cash that this thread will not be aging well in the next 5-10 years.

More snow and cold for the Midwest this week!
Whiny Midwestern crybaby BITCHES!!!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 31, 2021 3:02 AM |
11 inches of snow, WHINERS!!!!
So much for "we don't get snow in Chicago any more!"
Fucking whiny idiots.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 31, 2021 3:03 AM |
Chicagoans have always been crybabies.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 31, 2021 10:56 PM |
Hello Crybaby Chicagoans.
In case you haven't had enough snow this season, more is on the way from Friday until next week, accompanied by below zero temperatures!
But hey, you guys don't get snow and cold weather any more, do you?
After this, kindly STFU!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 3, 2021 12:46 AM |
People haven't grasped the situation. The world is actually freezing and we're heading for a mini glacial age in the next 30 years, but because of global warming and climate change, it has become funky, not to mention the heaps of heat we get from it.
I have family and Latin America and the last 4 years have been the coldest summers in history. This isn't to say summers are cold, but they're nicer and lower than ever before.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 3, 2021 12:53 AM |
r28, Chicago winters have always been wildly unpredictable. Anything can happen any year. Not enough snow, too much snow, warmer than usual, colder than usual, comes too soon, comes too late, leaves early, hangs around too long. Winter is Winter, so STFU r28.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 3, 2021 12:56 AM |
Maybe the cold weather will freeze their faces shut!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 3, 2021 7:20 AM |
Chicago is going to freeze its ass off this weekend!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 3, 2021 5:38 PM |
Jesus - block R32 and half the thread disappears.
I don't recall anyone saying that Chicago is immune to severe weather fluctuations. Yes, they're getting an arctic blast this weekend - happens every few years. And it's for a few days.
When you're inside anyway, what does it matter for a few days?
I don't understand your weird obsession - Chicago winters have become more mild as with other places.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 3, 2021 5:46 PM |
R32 is the OP. I block him and about 12 replies remain.
This was always a climate change-denying thread. How many of you fell for it?
We're being trolled relentlessly. Pay attention and be more critical.

I lived in Kansas as a kid and am back there now, and the weather is significantly different from what it used to be. Hell, it's changed a lot since I moved back here 15 years ago. We'd have at least one ice storm and one large snowstorm that would leave a foot or more of snow, yet I haven't seen that much snow in a few years now. We bought some ice melt five years ago and still haven't used the whole bag, when a decade ago we'd go through several bags a season, and I haven't had to do more than just sweep a little snow off the driveway for a couple of years.
It also hasn't dropped below zero (Fahrenheit) in town since 2019, but it used to several times a winter. Schools would close because of the cold.
Looking at charts of lowest temperatures in places like Kansas City and Topeka though, it looks like 1970 through 1989 were colder than usual, so maybe the weather I'm seeing now IS normal and what we had when I was a kid was the anomaly.

I had OP on block but saw this thread on the sidebar and answered anyway, not realizing it was trollbait.
There's a big troll on today who got busted trolling earlier this morning, and then went on to post normal, regular threads. I just assumed that guy started this thread. Mea culpa.
