I get my groceries myself but know many who have switched to pick up or delivery during covid. I don't imagine Charlize is too concerned abt a $10 delivery charge, so why the fuck is she doing this exactly?
Charlize Theron doesn't get grocery delivery?

Instacart has been my best friend this year

To squeeze the melons herself

Why hasn't she fled to Australia like most of Hollywood?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 26, 2021 6:59 AM |
Doesn't she have staff? My god! What good is a fking A list Hollywood career if I still have to hausfrau and schlep like this?

Produce aisle is a great place to meet a guy!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 26, 2021 7:04 AM |
Why not?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 26, 2021 7:06 AM |
Sometimes everybody needs to get out of the house, even A Listers.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 26, 2021 7:09 AM |
It's so she can get photographed, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 26, 2021 7:24 AM |
How else can she be photographed grocery shopping?
I'm fairly certain if she went more than 35 days without a paparazzi photo she'd have a mental crisis.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 26, 2021 7:26 AM |
Because this bitch knows of you want something done right you have got to do it your damn self.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 26, 2021 8:34 AM |
I don’t want other people fondling my groceries
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 26, 2021 1:04 PM |
Could it be that like a lot of us she's going stir crazy stuck at home and a trip to the supermarket is a good way to clear your head, she some evidence that life is continuing and it wastes an hour? That's why I go to the store and don't do delivery. I imagine life in a Hollywood mansion behind walls would be just about the loneliest thing right now.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 26, 2021 1:32 PM |
uh huh.. Okay Charlize. This is totally legit. You're like, 'real'. Just like us. uhm hummm.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 26, 2021 1:34 PM |
Ha she is after the tasty Bristol farms cheese samples!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 26, 2021 1:36 PM |
She likes to show off her son who she’s forcing to be a tranny. This woman belongs in prison
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 26, 2021 1:37 PM |
She's probably a very controlling person and would loathe the thought of someone else making substitutions for her!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 26, 2021 1:38 PM |
R15 Oh my God, is Charlize transing the gay away? Shame on her.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 26, 2021 1:40 PM |
I know you are joking R16 but ... this describes me to a "T".
I do not use delivery because I don't want someone making the assumption that grapefruit is the same as oranges (yes this happened to me).
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 26, 2021 1:40 PM |
STARS!.....they’re just like you and me....
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 26, 2021 1:40 PM |
I detest grocery delivering
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 26, 2021 1:42 PM |
Maybe she just likes selecting her own food and wants to get out of the house for a bit?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 26, 2021 1:48 PM |
The vast majority of people do not get their grocery delivered. Even rich people prefer to get their own grocery
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 26, 2021 1:51 PM |
Christ on a crutch why do you care?
Pussy.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 26, 2021 1:52 PM |
I prefer to buy my own groceries and no one would recognize me.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 26, 2021 1:55 PM |
I've tried instacart a few times.
When your shopper is good, then great.
If your shopper is bad, then you're screwed.
I once had one guy make 15 substitutions for me in a trip and he asked me about every one and sent pictures of my options for every one and it swore me off of the platform. By that point, instead of getting instacart so I could work, I had spent so much time texting with him that it would have been easier if I went myself.
So now I do.

I guess we don't have anybody here who works for those apps. We would have heard the stores by now! I really do feel for those people, I know a few people at my job who work these as a side gig, and the people who use them are so entitled and horrible. The guy mentioned above who was texted every minute about replacement items was probably chewed out and got a 1 star review for not doing that before so now he's overcompensating to avoid another 1 star because they can just kick you off those platforms if you get a bad review if the day ends in y if the wind is coming from the east.
When all the brick-and-mortar stores are shut and well off people's kids have to work these apps rather than Dairy Queen we'll see changes in how they treat the employees or 'contractors'.

I use Instacart and the delivery service at my grocery store, but some of the produce they have picked out is ridiculous. PLEASE do not put shriveled old fucking grapes or cherries or mushy apples in the damn cart. I have had to add special instructions stating (what should be) the obvious: DO NOT PURCHASE FRUIT IF IT ISN'T TOTALLY FRESH AND PLUMP.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 26, 2021 2:52 PM |
Because you can't dent the cans to get a discount using delivery.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 26, 2021 3:36 PM |
Instacart and Shipt work fine IF you pre-program your substitutions. They do let you do that. Once I started choosing a sub for every single thing on my list, the many texts stopped. I might get one per shopping trip. The systems will save your subs for the next time, too. It's all about planning, people.

Who. Cares.
?
Why would how anyone gets their groceries matter to anyone?
Get. A. Life.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 26, 2021 4:27 PM |
R31 Because people are bored as fuck right now!

I enjoy grocery shopping, especially at a place like BF, and am a foodie. She might be too, I remember she was on Top Chef as a guest once and seemed to be a genuine fan of the show.

May I just point out that when Professional Church Goer Jennifer Garner goes out for groceries, her stylist makes her buy prettier things.
The first photo implies Charlize purchased a plant, but further investigation reveals this was a potted plant and she is loaded up with plain groceries.
Also, she’s missing a baguette and a bunch of celery peeking over the top of the bags.
And, she has utilized the lower shelf of the cart - visually unappealing.
This was not a good celebrity grocery trip. Nice jacket, though.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 26, 2021 5:26 PM |
She doesn't want poor people choosing her groceries for her.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 26, 2021 5:37 PM |
She is a stunning beauty who can strut her stuff whenever and wherever she wants to, unlike OP....

R27, for the record I gave him a 5 star review and a huge tip because he did his job and was also fun to talk to.
That didn't change my mind about the service, though. I haven't used it since. I just shop at odd hours when I'm not working on my own instead.
The problem was with [bold]instacart and the store[/bold] since the website wasn't updated. So many of the things I selected and the alternates weren't in stock. Weirder still, brands I would have chosen over both of those weren't even on the instacart store's website.

I went directly through the grocery store and not instacart alto instacart really really wanted me to sign up for it. Anyhow it was only $5 to do pickup And I opted to just remove item if not available instead of substitute. I was v happy and will do it again this week!
