Wentworth Miller is done with gay roles defined by struggle
Wentworth Miller is returning to Law and Order: SVU this season where he plays Assistant District Attorney Isaiah Holmes, the first out LGBTQ+ district attorney on the show. This is his first acting role since the 48-year-old actor declared that he was done playing straight roles.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Miller talked about what it’s like to play Holmes, what’s exciting about returning to SVU, and what kind of stories he wants to tell now that he’s done playing straight characters.

His agent must find his demands exhausting.
It's also not like the studios are smashing down his door to give him his pick of scripts.

He looks fantastic for 48.

I’ve always thought he was hot!

I wish he could graduate to better roles than just work in superhero TV shows and crime thriller TV shows. He is so handsome and charismatic. But since he's 48, this is about the best he'll do.

I don't blame him. Network & cable TV is filled with queer characters who are just there as a tragic plot point. SVU, for example. I watch the show (sometimes it's good) but it's exhausting to see a main cast of straight people processing gay & trans victims through the police & court systems. Will be nice to see one of us in charge, calling the shots.

the new SVU episode he was in was so boring. The only good thing about it was seeing him.

R1 Lots of better photos than this one. He's turning 49 in a few months. OMG.

But I've always thought he wasn't sexy. He seems snobbish.

Wentworth has come out again - as autistic this time.

He's gorgeous, evolved, emotional and intelligent. Someone for gay men to be proud of. Are they? Not on this site. DL's loss.

He's not boring. He's a man.

Is he having a breakdown or something? Did anyone watch him in the first season of Legends of Tomorrow? That was the worst acting in the history of the world...and that's on a superhero show, so it's not like the standards were that high.

Wentworth is the most likeable character in "Legends of Tomorrow". I like it when John Constantine flirts with him at the beginning of the following clip...

R17 Agree. His choices were awful. The monotone delivery with over enunciation got tired quickly.

He probably over enunciates because he is a gay. And autistic. At least he doesn't lisp. I think most DL posters LISP?

That vocal crap on Legends was beyond terrible. It was like a really bad John Wayne imitation if John Wayne had been a Gen Z surfer.

He wasn't all weirdly mannered in Prison Break. He'll declare himself a woman next.

He had actually spoken with a lisp in a slightly high voice until about 2010. That was very sweet.

He should star in the Madison Cawthorn biopic.

I would agree. At this point why not play characters that happen to just be gay. It’s annoying how every gay character is there to be overly preachy, fulfill gay stereotypes or play a tragedy. The last two really peeve me.
