Why do guys wear underwear under their swimsuits?

They are desperately afraid that if they remove them someone will see their Shame.

I asked a guy about that- he told me that he does it to prevent chafing. Not sure I buy it- but there ya go.

Shame and paranoia are correct. American men, even those in shape are afraid to wear speedo type or tight swimwear for fear of showing it all or to be thought of as being gay. Yet they have no second thoughts of displaying their junk online. Oh the hypocrisy.

I have a “straight” (he’s actually bi, how I know that is a long story for another thread) married friend who wears cotton briefs under his swim trunks and I think he does it because he has a massive cock like literally 9” hard (another long story) and that monster would be snake-ing around if allowed to flop in board shorts. I think this swimwear is lovely...and certainly not gay like a Speedo.

Most real swimsuits have a lin mesh liner so not sure why you need to wear underwear. I think this more fear of exposed shrinkage.

Why is there swimwear without a liner, is the real question. A man needs support, especially when wet in public. This seems like a necessary solution to an unnecessary problem.. Why do board shorts not have liners?

This is such a weird thread for those of us in Europe. We're used to seeing Italians in their speedos and Germans in even less. Why do Americans wear those huge knee-length shorts in the water?
