Some women are so desperate to meet this goal that they find a good looking enough man and then ignore the red flags. Then the man starts acting like an asshole, and soon the victim's brain rationalizes it, and crazy things become "normal".

If a woman wants a child so bad, she should just go to a sperm bank and carry on with her life on her own terms.

This feels very similar to Johnny and Amber but on a smaller scale media-wise and with a small child (which makes it sadder), in that it's damaging for both of them. He'll probably never get hired again and her previously clean, responsible, non-drinker image has been spoiled. She's got a fanbase but MRAs and such will probably side against her.
