Models are famous just for being good looking and nothing else. Or even many actors, who can't really act, they're just hot or pretty. The only difference is they're backed by some corporation and we're told we're supposed to like them.

I think with models, singers and actors though. We tolerated it because we didn't see their personal lives or personality 24/7. They did their job and went home. Good directors and photographers also could get them to put out good work even with their limited skills. Influencers on the other hand have to be in the spotlight all the time to get work. So their desperation for attention and lack of talent is more noticeable. They lack coolness, mystery and glamour. I read a scholarly article on the cam phenomenon in the early 2000s and many interviewed said they were loners or nerds with an interest in media, art and the alternative. And they starting camming as not only way to make money but to express themselves and get attention and validation. And many of them weren't even doing extremely sexual things. Some were just dressing up in outfits or just talking to people through their cams. Then later we had Scene kids who used MySpace for similar reasons. Then YouTubers. Now TikTok. They are exhibitionists who want attention and a way to express themselves and voyeurs will pay to see more of them.
