As much as I would like this to be true, I call bull shit on the actual threat. Why advertise it now? He has secret service for life or do they not know that? They are going to be in nagoatations with the US soon or at some point so taking him out would only squash that idea. It sounds more like something Trump would do or say to please the masses but will never happen.

They did try to assassinate that navy captain (and came close to killing his wife) who shot down an Iranian passenger jet.

However this is just the Iranian leadership posturing at the orange idiot due to the fact that he’s on his way out.

The important thing here is that they aren't threatening to take their revenge on the entire country, just Trump. His life isn't worth making an international incident out of, but it's a good thing to ruin his retirement with this hanging over his head.

This will guarantee that Trump is going to get acquitted in the impeachment trial. Part of what happens when you get convicted is that you lose your secret service protection. No way the Reichpublicans are going to let that happen to him, no matter how mad they are. If Trump gets assassinated post presidency, the remaining MAGAts (though there are hardly any anymore) will go after them violently. So if Iran was trying to flex its muscle, it made a major strategic miscalculation here. They will have ended up saving his legacy instead.
