Four time Olympic Gold Medalist in diving. Is Greg the greatest openly gay male athlete of all time?
What about Bruce Jenner?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 21, 2021 11:31 AM |
Bruce Jenner is openly -something- but I'm not sure what it is.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 21, 2021 12:02 PM |
Wears too much jewelry
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 21, 2021 12:07 PM |
To hell with his depression. The nasty, disgusting thing on his left arm should be thoroughly vetted by medical experts.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 21, 2021 12:49 PM |
As a young gayling, I was very sad there was no full frontal in his playgirl spread.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 21, 2021 12:54 PM |
There is something wrong with people who turn a simple dignified question into a personal platform to broadcast their tiresome, divisive opinions about unrelated topics. Grow the fuck up! ...and learn to listen and focus to other people.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 21, 2021 12:57 PM |
He and his partner make a very nice looking couple.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 21, 2021 1:33 PM |
Who was he linked to back in the 70s/80s?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 21, 2021 1:34 PM |
Dont know much about him, but that he is still beautiful as R4 and R8 says despite the tattoo. And apparently he has done a lot of volunteer work with gay rights organisations that work in third world countries, which earns high respect from me.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 21, 2021 1:41 PM |
I know that he had money problems a while ago and lost his house as a result...I do hope that he’s doing better financially now. He really caught hell in his life. I always admired him.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 21, 2021 2:18 PM |
I had a crush on him back in the '70's, but I think he was the very first guy who I thought, "OMG, he's so GAY", when I heard him speak for the first time.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 21, 2021 2:30 PM |
"I know that he had money problems a while ago and lost his house as a result."
And the house was in terrible condition when it went on the market. Years and years of deferred maintenance and damage caused by his Great Danes.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 21, 2021 2:36 PM |
I used to call him Greg "Large-Anus" when I was a kid.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 21, 2021 2:49 PM |
The name on our block was Greg Loose-Anus
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 21, 2021 2:59 PM |
I feel incredibly sorry for him. Societal prejudice and internalized homophobia were without doubt contributing factors to his history of depression. And those are still problems with us today. It's incredible how you can fuck someone's life up.
I am happy for him, too. He has found happiness.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 21, 2021 3:02 PM |
Agree, R16. Adolescence is a critical age; you want to fit in and be just like everyone else. When you realize that you're different--and you will be judged for that difference, and you panic that your secret will be discovered before you're ready, that's traumatic. It contributed to my social anxiety that still inhibits me today. I don't think I'll ever get over it.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 21, 2021 3:27 PM |
I had a close friend, lost long ago to the plague, who worked in the advertising department st Macy’s in the 80s and 90s. Several years before Louganis came out, my friend says he did a personal appearance at the store (34th Street) and it seemed clear that there was something going on between GL and his manager seemed like a very sketchy character. Both perceptions turned out to be true.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 21, 2021 3:59 PM |
I'm 100% certain he's a DLer. Hi Greg, ignore the bitches!
He hit his head
on the diving board
He could be dead
Like the career of Lorde

When we went to a book signing in Indianapolis for his autobiography there was a huge crowd.
He had to leave, so people came down the line and got the addresses of all of us who didn't get to talk to him. A couple of weeks later I got a signed name label that I could stick on my book.
He was also Off-Broadway in the play JEFFREY playing a really funny character.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 21, 2021 4:27 PM |
Sadly, because of his homosexuality, he wasn't able to reap the advertising millions that would normally go to an Olympic champion

There is a good TV movie about his life from the 90s, a bit similar in time et al to the movies about Rock Hudson and Lucille Ball. I think his manager died of AIDS and was an abuser and a con-man. Best role Mario Lopez ever played. Rock Hudson's last lover was played by a blond guy from Matlock, Lucille Ball by Kate Winslet's mother in Titanic. Louganis was adopted, and I think he was part Asian.

Bruce is not gay, he's transgenic.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 21, 2021 9:57 PM |
Greg used to date former E! News anchor Steve Kmetko back in the day................

I've met him at a fundraiser and sat at the same table as him. He was professional and friendly enough, I suppose, but it seemed really clear that he didn't want to be there OR interact with people.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 21, 2021 10:18 PM |
R9 & R27,
I had a work friend (lesbian) back in the 80's. She tried to interest me in dating her friend Steve Kmetco, saying "he has a big dick." This was before he got with Greg L.
Never met him, though.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 22, 2021 1:57 AM |
How did she know about his dick r30?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 22, 2021 2:25 AM |
I will never forget seeing Greg Louganis at 1976 Montreal Olympics. A decade before I came out, Greg Louganis on that diving board, made an impression on my 11-year-old, self.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 22, 2021 2:32 AM |
R31, I guess she was that good a friend to him. Or, she just wanted her good friend to have a great boyfriend and used what she thought would be good bait :)
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 22, 2021 2:38 AM |
Remember when he hit his head close to the very end of the springboard event 1988 Olympics in Seoul? He still came back to win the gold. He is amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 22, 2021 11:32 AM |
In his bio, he said he hooked up at the Olympics in 1976 with a Soviet Russian gymnast he called "Yuri". It's been almost 50 years, has the gymnast been identified?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 22, 2021 11:40 AM |
IIRC "Yuri" was a diver, not a gymnast. And Greg cuddled with him, but there was no mention of anything sexual having occurred.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 22, 2021 2:49 PM |
I only remember him from the 80s...I don't think I even knew he was around and competing in 70s. He has had a rough life; I wish him well.
Also, in high school a female friend of mine was IN LOVE with him. I wasn't even sure if *I* was gay, but I sure knew Greg was. I never said anything to her.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 22, 2021 5:57 PM |
Back in the early 1980s I knew he was a handsome athlete and a very talented diver, but knew nothing else about him. I then saw him in a brief TV interview before the 1984 Olympics and expected him to be cocky and arrogant, but he was shy and humble and sweet and was taken aback how down to earth and beautiful person he is.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 22, 2021 6:18 PM |
He is one of my heroes
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 22, 2021 6:25 PM |
He has a hot ass, and maybe he'll live forever.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 22, 2021 6:27 PM |
Greg Louganis loved his Great Danes.
Decades ago on a Saturday afternoon, I was in Uncle Charlie's in Austin. Some guy had his Great Dane sitting next to his barstool.
So I jokingly call out, "Is Greg Louganis in the house?" And the guy starts screeching with delight as he tells me that his Great Dane is, in fact, a "granddaughter" of one of Greg's Great Danes. Talk about pedigree.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 22, 2021 6:48 PM |
I've always loved Greg. So handsome, so beautifully built, so sweet and kind, so humble, so upfront. One of the great ones.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 22, 2021 6:51 PM |
R24 everything about him is a work of heart, he's absolutely stunning, and a lovely guy with it too.
As R42 says, one of the great ones
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 23, 2021 8:31 AM |
I thought he was so beautiful, but also so damn dumb.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 23, 2021 9:15 AM |
Not enough was made of the fact that he's a POC.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 23, 2021 9:42 AM |
r28, Louganis was born in El Cajon, California, and is of Samoan and Swedish descent. His teenage biological parents placed him for adoption when he was eight months old and he was raised in California by his adoptive parents, Frances and Peter Louganis. His adoptive father was of Greek descent.

Any info on the cock? I bet his ass was amazing maybe still is
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 24, 2021 3:33 PM |
He goes to Bed Bath and Beyonce on Olympic all the time. I saw him once and one of the security guards was joking with him that he looks just like Greg Louganis. I chimed in that yes, he does look like him and he said "I am him". I laughed and said I knew and we fist bumped and went on our ways. He was in a tank top and although he was attractive, he was most notable for his gray hair which was very striking.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 24, 2021 7:02 PM |
Was he on the bed, on the bath or on the beyond, r48?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 24, 2021 7:36 PM |
"Bed Bath and Beyonce"? My town only has a Bed, Bath, and Beyond? I'd also like to shop at a store that prioritizes Beyonce over Beyond.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 24, 2021 7:52 PM |
I keep looking for pix of his butt but searches only return images of Mario Lopez in the TV movie
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 24, 2021 8:12 PM |
Visually stunning.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 24, 2021 8:26 PM |
thank you r52 that's perfect- the back to the ass to the thigh. DL seems obsessed with 'bubble' asses but that perfect concentration of round muscle is more my taste.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 24, 2021 8:35 PM |
Damn. 8 months old. That's cold as fuck
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 24, 2021 8:36 PM |
R56, Greg was placed in the foster care system at birth. At the age of 9 months, he was adopted.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 24, 2021 9:22 PM |
I think thighs are my 3rd favorite male body part
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 24, 2021 10:23 PM |
He’s a lovely man and deserves our respect.

He couldn’t hide the gay.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 24, 2021 11:42 PM |
R61, He was a 9 month Stewie Griffin. He's lucky anyone adopted him.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 25, 2021 12:59 AM |
Imagine wrapping your arms around those thighs as he throws his legs over your shoulders
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 25, 2021 3:00 AM |
I remember seeing some TV special in the '90s. As a kid, being half Samoan in school he would sometimes get called "nigger"
Between this, having to hide his sexuality during the Olympics, having an abusive boyfriend (he was once raped at knifepoint in his house) and living with HIV, he's definitely a survivor.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 25, 2021 3:19 AM |
R64, he has said that, from a young age, he also felt deeply rejected because his birth parents gave him up for adoption. Probably the constant diving training helped him keep himself distracted from all his personal turmoil.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 25, 2021 3:28 AM |
He missed his chance at getting the gold at the boycotted 1980 Olympics.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 25, 2021 3:41 AM |
I always thought he was really hot & am glad he’s found peace & happiness. I read his autobiography in around 1996 or so, & couldn’t believe what a mess his life was. He seemed to have it all together.
