What are the best air fans you can buy?

I want a new fan, preferably a tower fan.

I don’t know which are good. Fans aren’t what they used to be.

by Anonymousreply 21January 17, 2021 11:32 PM

Why do you have to have the best that money can buy?

by Anonymousreply 1January 17, 2021 8:30 PM

I have two 18 inch Lasko pedestal fans with remote. They're ugly but when it's sticky or smoky they are wonderful at circulating the air.

Why not have the best that money can buy, if you can afford it.

OP's balls are probably sweaty and he needs some relief.

Summers are hot where I live and I'm interested in the Dyson fan with no blades, but reviews are not great.

Here is a classy golden fan for the ball sweater who demands only the best.

I’ve been using Dyson tower fans for years. I have one that is also a heater.

I like them because they are relatively quiet, they circulate the air well, and there are no filters to clean or replace.

Vornado. Vornado. Vornado.

Don't bother buying anything else OP.

They are too damn loud R6.

My Dyson heater/fan melted. It did.

What other kinds of fans could there be?

Let's ask Cristina Crawford, shall we?

R5, can you please post the Dyson fan that you have and like?

TIA.

Another vote for Vornado -they also make decent, moderately priced space heaters. Check out Costco

by Anonymousreply 12January 17, 2021 9:19 PM

This is the model I have R11, but Dyson no longer sells this model as there have been upgrades.

R8, I never had a problem with mine but I don’t use it often. I use it when there are problems with heat in my apartment or when it’s bitter cold outside.

Vornado is the best value and quality

by Anonymousreply 14January 17, 2021 9:26 PM

Thanks, R13.

I also have this table fan which I keep on my nightstand. I use it every single night and I’ve had this one longer than I’ve had my tower fans.

Wow, R16, that is a very cool-looking (no pun intended) fan. My desk is in the hottest portion of my apartment. Maybe I'll get that for summer time!

by Anonymousreply 17January 17, 2021 9:32 PM

I want a fan so I can cut back on AC usage. My bills are ridiculous during summer.

I was told Vornado is great.

The Dysons get a lot of bad reviews but I’m considering.

R16 you can buy that one refurbished directly from Dyson on eBay. It’s sold by them on there

by Anonymousreply 18January 17, 2021 10:46 PM

There is a Lasko one I am thinking about

by Anonymousreply 19January 17, 2021 10:52 PM

R18, Vornado is powerful and relatively quiet. However, it does not oscillate. Also, you can't easily take it apart to clean. It has tons of surfaces and, IMO, it's hard to clean. (That's why I'm so interested in the Dyson.)

by Anonymousreply 20January 17, 2021 11:17 PM

Cool people with style buy refurbished antique fans.

Fans of yore were rock solid before air conditioners proliferated.
