I think he's sort of good looking, but I still don't get it.
Cole Sprouse. I don't get it.

He's perfectly cast for their conception of Jughead on Riverdale, because he's attractive despite the needle-nose.
It's almost impossible though to think of what he'll do post-"Riverdale," but that's the trouble with most of them on that series. Camilla Mendes is genuinely talented, but what would she do after this is over? And KJ Apa is just a torso, and he's not getting any younger.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||01/17/2021|
Perfectly cast except he's 28

R2 my god! AIDS?!
|by Anonymous||reply 3||01/17/2021|
He and his brother have that pretty straight-boy appeal that attracts a mixed demographic.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||01/17/2021|
R3 I don't get it.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||01/17/2021|
Just saying it doesn't attract me. He doesn't even have a good body.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||01/17/2021|
As bland as a bowl of cold oatmeal.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||01/17/2021|
I’ve caught fish that gave a better profile.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||01/17/2021|
They took forever to reach puberty. I don't find either very attractive and find them to be average-looking white boys who if they weren't on Disney. Nobody would be thirsting over them. I guess their appeal is being non-threatening looking and blond. The male Olsen twins.
There are hotter twinks out there to me like Raviv Ullman, Hunter Parrish, Nicholas Hoult, Cameron Monaghan, Corbin Bleu and Nick Robinson.

No matter how old Dylan and Cole get I cannot unsee them as Zack and Cody which grosses me out. Their faces have not changed since their Disney days. Justin Bieber at least looks like an adult man now.

[quote] I cannot unsee them as Zack and Cody
Neither can I. Neither can I.
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/21/2021|
You don't get it because you didn't grow up with the Sprouse twin(k)s. They were child actors so they have a built in fan base.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||02/21/2021|
R13 Actually I am a 27 gay male. I grew up with them and never found them attractive even when Zack and Cody aired. I think they mostly appealed to girls honestly. I was more into Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Tom Welling and Usher.

Who is this person? A celebutante? A bit player? An influencer and whore?
|by Anonymous||reply 15||02/21/2021|
[quote] A bit player?
|by Anonymous||reply 16||02/21/2021|
Sprouse was very good in the film, "Five Feet Apart". Anyone that has not seen it should search it out. Well worth the time.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/21/2021|
He's attractive now he's young, but he will always play supporting parts.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||02/21/2021|
I don't get why you think everyone else has to agree with your personal tastes. You don't find him attractive? Who gives a fuck?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/21/2021|
His fanbase is: 1) teen girls and young women who were the target demographic of both Disney Channel and Riverdale and 2) gay men who love emaciated twinks and subscribe to Helix. If you aren't in those demographics, his appeal will be lost on you.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/21/2021|
How long have you been here, r19? These sorts of disagreements are the bread and butter of Datalounge, toots!
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/21/2021|
I remember pissing people off when I say things like Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Beyoncé and Scarlett Johannson are average looking and the media tries too hard to push them as sex symbols. People really take offense when you don't agree on a celebrity's attractiveness.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||02/21/2021|
NEVER understood people going on about him on here.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/21/2021|
He's a decent actor. It's unfortunate that some can't move on from the damned Disney-ism that seems to follow him.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/21/2021|
Most former Disney stars will never be able to disassociate from that brand no matter how hard they try. Usually the only child stars that become successful adult stars are the ones who were doing mature films at an early age. The Sprouse twins were in a few but signing up for Disney Channel turned them into a walking brand for a greedy corporation that they will be associated with for a while. Some like Hilary, Raven and The Jonas Brothers just stopped trying to be taken seriously and embraced it because they can profit off of nsotalgia. Very few do get Hollywood pushes like Shia LaBeouf and Lindsay Lohan but they blew their chances. Zac Efron and Zendaya seems to have the biggest chance though likely because they are marketable and have good work ethic. The Sprouse twins just aren't marketable and will probably just keep doing indie films.

For Our Eldergays:
Sprouse and his twin brother were stars of a Disney Channel show called "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody" and its follow-up "Suite Life On Deck" that ran for about 5 or 6 years in the late 00s and was a huge influence in the lives of younger Millennials/older Zoomers. Sort of their Brady Bunch or Saved By The Bell .
Cole went to NYU and had a very funny Insta where he'd take photos of people trying to surreptitiously photograph him, often on the subway.
I suspect they've made enough money so they can pick and choose projects and he seems to want to be more of an art house movie actor than an Efron-style star.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||02/21/2021|
As I just noted though R25, it would seem that the Sprouse brothers are doing indie films because they want to do indie films and if their parents/managers were wise, they've made enough money they can continue to do indie films.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||02/21/2021|

LOL. No, it wasn't.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||02/21/2021|
I think the Sprouse twins are also realistic and realize they were never going to have Hollywood careers just like Mary-Kate and Ashley realized too. Doing indie films was a practical decisions as well as an artistic decision. They honestly don't even need to work anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/21/2021|
What’s their skin color?
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/21/2021|
I actually think he's a decent actor and it's hard to imagine him as the same kid from Suite Life. KJ Apa, although more attractive, is much more bland. That said, there are much hotter twinks out there such as the ones R9 mentioned.
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/21/2021|
I think some people are attracted to people who they think they can easily dominate and snap in half. Non-threatening as they say. Some straight/bi girls I know say they prefer a pretty face and sense of style and don't like too much muscle and body hair on a male partner. Me as a gay man on the other hand like muscle, thick thighs and butts, big veiny hands, hairy arms and legs and a jawline. Types like Cole, Timothee, Pattinson or Troye just don't do much for me.

Was The Suite Life Of Zach And Cody really on a par with The Brady Bunch? Not just kids watched The Brady Bunch (or The Partridge Family, for that matter). They were on regular network TV, not a kids channel.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/21/2021|
I’d fuck him.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||02/21/2021|
Just like The Brady Bunch and Saved By The Bell. Disney Channel was considered corny and embarrassing by most people over the age of 14. And like The Brady Bunch and SBTB, it was not a huge impact on anyone's life. Just a dumb comedy removed from reality that was enjoyable for passive viewing and had moral at the end of the episode to learn. Fun to watch and enjoy for the cheese factor but nobody took it seriously enough for it to be impactful.
Also Disney Channel is a cable network and wasn't widely available to everyone. I much preferred Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, That's So Raven and The Famous Jett Jackson anyway and Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were consistently better in every way.
The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm in the Middle, 30 Rock, Skins, The IT Crowd, Avatar the Last Airbender, Futurama and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are Millennial-defining shows.

[quote] COLE: “I’m the main character in all your stories. Well, I’m leaving, I got what I needed—validation from my dearest Twin brother.”
In every interview they do together as adults, Cole is constantly flirting with Dylan in that teasing mean way, and it’s kind of weird. Like, I don’t get whether it’s a joke, or another one of Cole’s infamous social experiments’, or if it’s somewhat legit. Is this something many twins do as a humorous mindfucky thing, or?

Directed by one of the Coppola clan.

Never even heard of some of these shows. I think The Simpsons, X Files, Friends, Seinfeld, and Arrested Development are far more important than any of the shows you mentioned. Malcolm in the Middle was great thought. It did set a template for other shows to come.
