I hope he gets what's coming to him with the wrestlers scandal. There has to be hard evidence somewhere. A taped conversation, anything. I can't believe he's still in The House.

I don't even live in Gym Jordan's district or even in Ohio and I have gotten two fund raising emails from Jeffrey A. Sites a U.S. Army Veteran and Democrat for Congress in the last two days. Christ I want Jordan defeated but the next election is almost two years away.

His next election is sure to get nationwide attention with every effort made to oust him. And Matt Gaetz, too.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 15, 2021 9:39 PM |
r3 In one of the most painful oversights in history, apparently Jim Jordan admitted to everything and begged for forgiveness on a call that some idiot didn't bother to record. The idiot went on to discuss the call with the media without a recording. Jordan will never again admit to anything.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 15, 2021 9:42 PM |
r7 Apparently you haven't been paying attention to electoral politics. They are both in 100% safe seats, as are most of the morons and fascists in Congress today. They will not lose their seats.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 15, 2021 9:44 PM |
Lol R9. That’s exactly what repug Georgia peaches Purdue and Loffler said about their “100% safe-seat” selves, before Dems Warnock and Ossoff came along and won.
Apparently YOU haven’t been paying attention to electoral politics.

You are aware that Trump is awarding him the Medal of Freedom before he leaves the WH, yes? He's such a total pig (either one: Trump or Jordan).

We can all take solace in the fact that he seems to be perennially angry which will have an adverse affect on his health in coming years.

r11 I dont know why i bother trying to educate people like you. but i can't help myself.
The GA races were long shots. The chance of them winning was low, not zero. Both Democrats would have gotten in the low 40's in a worst case scenario, they ended up eeking out small wins. Thank god.
Jim Jordan got 68% in 2016, 65% in 2018 and when there was a huge 2020 jump in voter turnout: 68% of the vote. The claims that he overlooked sexual abuse on his wrestling team have been around for years. This is not new. The people in his district don't care. There is no amount of money or voter mobilization Democrats can do to flip that seat. If Jordan admitted he knew about the sexual abuse and managed to win the Republican primary, he'd still probably win.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 16, 2021 12:08 AM |
r22, could there at least be 1000s of unregistered voters in his district who could be roused to vote against Jordan?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 16, 2021 12:11 AM |
Are his constant yellow neck ties a signal?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 16, 2021 12:45 AM |
R11 - the Georgia races were statewide, so it's not comparable.

R21, Capital Law School had an awful reputation. I have two attorney friends in Ohio who say that if the resume is from Cap U, don’t interview. Incompetence prevails.
I think Cap has improved the reputation since then.

Somehow I suspect his happiest times were in high school, and the wrestling.
And I think he’s smart enough to know this Medal of Freedom for him is nonsense, especially after that famous coach refused it.

Districts will be redrawn based on the 2020 Census. In 2015, voters approved the creation of a bipartisan commission to handle redistricting. There is a good chance Jordan's district won't be as favorable to him in 2022. And if Ohio had a decline in population, it's possible there will be fewer congressional seats allotted to Ohio (which is actually expected).

I had a kid who wrestled in HS and there are plenty of great coaches / boosters. But it really seems to draw a lot of questionable figures. I am sure most of you are aware of the body exposure through singlet and homoerotic stances. But it is not uncommon for them to change into their singlet from the sides. No outright nudity, but close.
It is not uncommon to have confirmed bachelors as coaches or that combination of fit/hot dad where mom is a sow. Usually, the parents gather around the concession stand until their kid or one of the stars are up or there is a consequential match.
Capital was listed as the seventh worst law school in the country - moneyinc- 2019.

Yes. He likely does not understand and accept that he is not responsible for his abuse. He was the victim of a depraved predator. But he carries all the shame and it has twisted him into something wicked and grotesque. He IS responsible for the person he has become and his own evil.

r23 Biden worked Ohio. He spent money there. Still lost by 8%.
There are always unregistered voters who can be registered. But not many. Its expensive to identify them, get them registered, and get them to vote. Unregistered people tend not to care that much. And we're coming off the ultimate high turnout election. If you didn't care what happened in 2020, there's not much hope that person would care in 2022.
Sadly Republicans have redistricted themselves into so many hyper safe seats, its not possible to get Republicans bounced. and as we saw with Madison Cawthorn, even win when its an open seat. Cawthorn had a few scandals and did 10 points WORSE than the last guy and still won by 12 points, even though the D had plenty of money and national attention.

by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 17, 2021 8:54 PM |
The sad truth is that even if they got rid of Gym, that district would just find some gun toting QAnon, fundie loon. I am not defending the guy, but I don't think he is any way the worst they could produce. In those gerrymandered repig districts, the crazier the better.
