Odd food combinations you like

Things that don't go together for most people, but are a must for you?

I love peanut butter on toast with a glass of orange juice. So good together! No jam, but I want the juice with it.

A friend MUST have ketchup with her pizza. She dips the pizza slice in the mound of ketchup. I don't do this with pizza but I have to have ketchup to dip with my grilled cheese.

Any weird things you like together?

People who eat ketchup on anything but burgers or fries are absolute TRASH.

People who eat ketchup, period, are TRASH.

I like to put frozen cherries and peanut butter in my protein shakes. Sound weird, but it’s good.

Also, fresh bananas, avocado and PB.

When I was a poor student I used to put curry powder into Kraft Mac & Cheese

by Anonymousreply 4January 14, 2021 5:25 PM

I put orange marmalade in my scrambled eggs.

R6 a Marilyn Monroe favorite!

R3 do you put the peanut butter, avocado and banana all together in the shake?

by Anonymousreply 7January 14, 2021 5:36 PM

I do R7. a whole small avocado, a whole banana, greek yogurt, PB, Protein powder and coconut water.

A griddled sharp Cheddar cheese and peanut butter sandwich.

Canned octopus on a bowl of Lucky Charms

Spinach is surprisingly good in a smoothie. Great way to pack in fiber and vegetables.

by Anonymousreply 11January 14, 2021 7:19 PM

I put baked chips next to a cheese omlette and then top it all with Trader Joe's green salsa or with canned jalapenos.

by Anonymousreply 12January 14, 2021 7:35 PM

I like pizza with mayo on it.

by Anonymousreply 15January 14, 2021 7:53 PM

I think I win this one. Whipped cottage cheese mixed with peanut butter. It’s kind of sour peanut butter. I can’t explain why I love it. I’ve tried it out on friends and they across the board loathe it. Still, it packs a punch of protein and healthy fats.

Peanut butter and banana are good, but NOT FRIED

by Anonymousreply 17January 14, 2021 7:54 PM

Ketchup is great with fried eggs and onions, and on a veggie omelette

Strawberry jello, cream cheese and crushed pretzels. Together, like a parfait

Apple sauce on corn flakes

Hot BBQ sauce and onions on bread (as a kid - too embarrassed to try it now)

by Anonymousreply 19January 14, 2021 8:29 PM

As I kid I like dunking my buttered white toast into my orange juice -- it was crunchy and sweet.

by Anonymousreply 20January 14, 2021 8:44 PM

I dip my baby carrots in almond butter. Yum.

by Anonymousreply 21January 14, 2021 9:18 PM

R21 - that really isn't strange and I've seen fraus trying to lose the spread do that.

Bowl of vanilla ice-cream followed by mayo on bologna on a white bulky roll.

A college roommate and I used to make chocolate chip pancakes and mac and cheese. Oddly, a nice dark chocolate chip and sharper cheese in the mac and cheese worked well together.

Old school BBQ Fritos with French Onion sour cream dip is killer. My mother turned me on to it many years ago, it'll likely kill me. It's like crack, y'all.

by Anonymousreply 25January 21, 2021 3:26 AM

I dip pretzels in ice cream. Not that weird, I guess.

I once added almond milk to lobster bisque, that wasn't too bad.

Some of the combos listed are nausea inducing.

That's not odd at all, most people dip chips in some sort of dip.

by Anonymousreply 27January 21, 2021 3:27 AM

My aunt was infamous in my family for dipping miracle whip on toast in chocolate quik milk. She swore there was something special about the combination.
