Light Bill v. Electric Bill

I was born after 1908, so I say "electric bill".

I still get a visit each month from the whale oil rep.

I’ve heard many people in Alabama say light bill

I call it the Voltage payment

The Rag & Bone man pushes his cart by the scullery door every Monday morn.

I call it the eclectic bill

I mostly say electric but have on occasion called it the light Bill.

However, I have NEVER said an appliance used too much light. Especially one that doesn’t even GIVE light.

A friend's mother would complain when he didn't turn out lights leaving a room. "Do you think I own stock in the Edison?"

Electric bill but I'm forced to say hydro bill so people don't look at me like I have three heads.

I call it the ConEd bill because I'm a new New Yorker who knows how to york!

Power bill

I call it the electric bill, because in addition to lights I also have a TV, a computer, a microwave, a toaster, a hairdryer that I can't find, hair trimmers...
