I had a FB in the 80s who beat a speeding ticket in HS by requesting a trial and hanging the officer on the stand about the proper use and calibration of his equipment. After college, he graduated from city law school and got picked up by a prestigious defense firm where he quickly made a name for himself, and even some notoriety playing dirty politics at the local level. But he was always compensating for his love of dick. Bought a Trans Am in HS, joined the football team his junior year, always trying too hard.
Cut forward about six years and upon arriving at a "destination" wedding, I learned that he had crossed his Corvette into oncoming traffic and ran directly into an 18 wheeler. The claim was that he was forced by a different truck he was trying to pass. Nobody said it, but most of us knew how dangerous his driving was.
Another friend commented "Well, we always knew it would be something with Scott".
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 12, 2021 5:25 PM |

But, her emails . . .
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 12, 2021 5:30 PM |
She was feisty = A totally obnoxious, offensive bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 12, 2021 5:38 PM |
This thread makes me think of the White House statement that will be released when Trump chokes on his last cheeseburger:
“The President and Dr Biden will be spending the day reflecting on the impact President Trump had on the nation.”
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 12, 2021 5:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 12, 2021 11:23 PM |
Years ago a colleague died of pancreatic cancer. She hated her job but stayed on as long as she could for the coverage. We all knew how she felt about management because we all felt the same way. When she died management sent an email around telling everyone how much she loved her job and we all knew how many times she had meetings with HR about how shitty the place was. HR honestly believed what they put in that email.

And you still don’t get it.
It’s about things people say about a recently dead person and what it actually means. Not stories of people who died (I have NO idea what the point was in Corvette boy’s story) or silly little anecdotes about cube fraus.
