Lectern Guy Wears Face Mask At Bail Hearing

Adam Johnson, 36, was dubbed the 'lectern guy' on social media after a Getty photograph showed him in the Capitol, hauling the lectern.

The judge agreed to give Johnson a $25,000 bond, with several conditions that include surrendering all of his weapons and his passport. He will also have a curfew and an ankle monitor. Johnson will be allowed to travel anywhere in Florida and parts of Washington, D.C. However, he can only travel to D.C. for court matters and meeting with his attorneys.

Monday, his attorney said there had been "a lot of judgement based on that photograph which has led to death threats to Adam and his family."

"What he’d like to do is just get home to his family," David Bigny continued. "He’d like some privacy and to spend some quality time with them."

Johnson was booked into Pinellas County Jail and, as of Monday, was facing three federal charges: one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; one count of theft of government property; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Yeah. I imagine the 5 people who died would feel the same way.

by Anonymousreply 1January 11, 2021 11:05 PM

This moron was having fun. His pea-brain didn't understand the gravity of what he was doing. It is obvious that among the violent assholes, there were some who were just there enacting their own version of an action movie....the mind of an 8 year-old. Scary.

[quote] The judge agreed to give Johnson a $25,000 bond, with several conditions

Such bullshit. He belongs in the slammer.

by Anonymousreply 3January 11, 2021 11:09 PM

$25000 for anti-government insurrection. Funny how folks wrested did drug possession or sales often face higher bail charges.

by Anonymousreply 4January 11, 2021 11:18 PM

^^ arrested**

by Anonymousreply 5January 11, 2021 11:18 PM

I wonder if the Administrative Office for the US Courts issued some nationwide guidance on how how federal magistrates should deal with bond matters for the insurrection, considering that there will ultimately be a few thousand of these cases and the judiciary may want some uniformity to the process.

The judge should have severely restricted or prohibited this POS from having any internet access.

[quote] "What he’d like to do is just get home to his family,"

As if his likes and dislikes have any bearing on anything.

by Anonymousreply 7January 11, 2021 11:31 PM

It's their blissful ignorance about having done anything wrong.

by Anonymousreply 8January 11, 2021 11:35 PM

$25,000? Shit, the perps on L&O get no less than $1m in bail!

by Anonymousreply 9January 11, 2021 11:37 PM

I don't think this thread is going quite as OP intended.

by Anonymousreply 10January 11, 2021 11:39 PM

R4, talk about a slap on the wrist.

by Anonymousreply 11January 11, 2021 11:42 PM

Looks like he’s smuggling raisins beneath that shirt.

by Anonymousreply 12January 11, 2021 11:43 PM

"he'd like to spend time with his family".

His wife (the breadwinner) is fed up with his useless and has filed for divorce and custody.

She'll get it, too.

by Anonymousreply 13January 11, 2021 11:47 PM

Yay, Chewy! Good to see you, brother.

by Anonymousreply 14January 11, 2021 11:54 PM

R13, source? Couldn’t find anything via google search.

by Anonymousreply 15January 11, 2021 11:58 PM

These people must make so many bad decisions in their lives, but probably have enablers who rush to their help when they fuck-up yet again. I'm sure the adrenaline was pumping, but you should research the legal repercussions first if you break + enter the Speaker of the House's office.

by Anonymousreply 16January 12, 2021 12:00 AM

Wait for it, r15.

It's coming.

by Anonymousreply 17January 12, 2021 12:08 AM

VNN

Visible nipple nub

by Anonymousreply 18January 12, 2021 12:10 AM

$25,00 bail for violent insurrection at a federal building? Who the fuck is this judge? If he were black he wouldn't even have been allowed bail.

by Anonymousreply 19January 12, 2021 12:12 AM

CHEWY is BACK!!!!!

Please stay!!

by Anonymousreply 20January 12, 2021 12:17 AM

Ok, this is one of the few times someone should take off their damn mask. If I didn't know any better, I'd consider that piece of shit sexy!

by Anonymousreply 21January 12, 2021 12:18 AM

He is unemployed, father of five, married to a DOCTOR

that is right, his wife is a doctor

by Anonymousreply 22January 12, 2021 12:19 AM

His being released on a $25,000 bond is bullshit.

This wasn’t a college prank.

by Anonymousreply 24January 12, 2021 12:28 AM

A story about the guy who turned him in. He's getting death threats.

I suppose the wife is a nut for being married to this loser and supporting him.

by Anonymousreply 26January 12, 2021 12:42 AM

[quote]"He’d like some privacy and to spend some quality time with them."

I don't think that any time spent with him would qualify as "quality time."

by Anonymousreply 27January 12, 2021 12:46 AM

According to his arrest record, he’s only 5’ 6”

Maybe he wanted the lectern so he could change his ceiling light bulbs.

Stupid cunt should have thought of that before his law-breaking spree.

by Anonymousreply 29January 12, 2021 12:55 AM

Quality time with his family?

He’s a stay-at-home father.

by Anonymousreply 31January 12, 2021 12:58 AM

Hot! He’s going to be very popular in prison.

by Anonymousreply 32January 12, 2021 1:02 AM

Bet he throws a mean fuck.

Lady doc is one lucky bitch.

by Anonymousreply 33January 12, 2021 1:04 AM

"He is unemployed, father of five, married to a DOCTOR"

That's pretty much the definition of "big cock that's always hard".

by Anonymousreply 34January 12, 2021 1:05 AM

I noticed he was clean shaven in his mugshot. Did they dumbass think they wouldn't recognize him...?

by Anonymousreply 35January 12, 2021 1:21 AM

Let his ass go to prison. So the Aryan Brotherhood can make him their bitch until his anus prolapses and they can sell him to the Black Muslims for a few cartons of smokes and some pruno.

by Anonymousreply 37January 12, 2021 1:32 AM

A black person can't even sell a loose cigarette without being executed by the cops.

by Anonymousreply 38January 12, 2021 1:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 40January 12, 2021 1:49 AM

I hate this guy. Who cares what he'd like to do. Hope the dumb wife divorces him. Five kids he's responsible for and he's pulling this shit? What a moron.

by Anonymousreply 41January 12, 2021 1:56 AM

[quote] "What he’d like to do is just get home to his family," David Bigny continued. "He’d like some privacy and to spend some quality time with them."

Yeah I imagine the family of the dead capitol hill cop would like to spend some quality time with him also, aren't there still police officers in the hospital?

Seems to me I remember some black teenagers who were all in one car together, one of them went into a convenience store, robbed the place and killed the clerk, everyone in the car was charged with murder. Why are not each of these people who stormed the capitol being charged with murder?

by Anonymousreply 42January 12, 2021 1:56 AM

What about the lectern, what happened to it?

by Anonymousreply 43January 12, 2021 1:57 AM

country filled with deluded cunts being used by cynical lying bastards

by Anonymousreply 44January 12, 2021 2:18 AM

R43, think I read he put it on eBay... not sure I can find a link but I’ll try.

by Anonymousreply 45January 12, 2021 2:22 AM

A lectern was listed, but not clear if it was a real listing. These people are so dumb that I wouldn’t be surprised.

R43 It was found in the Senate. Theft in this case includes 'conveying'. He carried the object from one part of the Capitol to another.

He should do a gay porn.

by Anonymousreply 55January 12, 2021 11:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 56January 12, 2021 11:04 AM

r53 I guess his crime was also mild compared to Pol Pot, Ted Bundy and Vlad the Impaler.

R56 Do we need to give you biology lessons again?

Thanks for the info.

by Anonymousreply 62January 12, 2021 12:59 PM

From link: "On or about January 7, 2021, the lectern was found by a member of the Senate staff in the Red corridor of the Senate wing off the Rotunda in the Capitol building," the arrest warrant said. "According to the House of Representatives’ curator, the Speaker’s lectern has a market value of more than $1,000.""

Irony.

Though I’m sure it was lost on him.

by Anonymousreply 65January 12, 2021 1:28 PM

His life as he knew it, is over.

You hate to see it.

No I don’t. I REALLY REALLY LOVE TO SEE IT.

by Anonymousreply 66January 12, 2021 1:34 PM

Did any of these goobers defy our expectations? They all seem to be losers of one stripe or another, whether it's Jake "I can only eat organic prison food cuz I'm a shaman and stuff" Angeli living with his mom at age 32, or this unemployed shorty, they are all the sad dregs of society and of course, the irony that the Republican party exists to *keep" them the dregs is utterly lost on them.

by Anonymousreply 67January 12, 2021 1:58 PM

Fuck all of these people. These useless pieces of shit should all get a mandatory ten years.

by Anonymousreply 68January 12, 2021 3:21 PM

It wasn’t hard to identify Adam Johnson. He was the goofy-grinning guy stealing Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, not a care in the world, like he was at a sorority house panty raid in 1952 instead of an all-out riot at the United States Capitol.

Allan Mestel knew as soon as he saw the photo. That was Johnson, all right: Unemployed, father of five, married to a doctor, resident of Parrish. Mestel had met Johnson at a social function before, and as a photographer in Manatee County he remembered his face. They also have some friends in common. He knew things about him.
