Lectern Guy Wears Face Mask At Bail Hearing
Adam Johnson, 36, was dubbed the 'lectern guy' on social media after a Getty photograph showed him in the Capitol, hauling the lectern.
The judge agreed to give Johnson a $25,000 bond, with several conditions that include surrendering all of his weapons and his passport. He will also have a curfew and an ankle monitor. Johnson will be allowed to travel anywhere in Florida and parts of Washington, D.C. However, he can only travel to D.C. for court matters and meeting with his attorneys.
Monday, his attorney said there had been "a lot of judgement based on that photograph which has led to death threats to Adam and his family."
"What he’d like to do is just get home to his family," David Bigny continued. "He’d like some privacy and to spend some quality time with them."
Johnson was booked into Pinellas County Jail and, as of Monday, was facing three federal charges: one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; one count of theft of government property; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Yeah. I imagine the 5 people who died would feel the same way.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | 01/11/2021 |
This moron was having fun. His pea-brain didn't understand the gravity of what he was doing. It is obvious that among the violent assholes, there were some who were just there enacting their own version of an action movie....the mind of an 8 year-old. Scary.

Such bullshit. He belongs in the slammer.

$25000 for anti-government insurrection. Funny how folks wrested did drug possession or sales often face higher bail charges.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | 01/11/2021 |
I wonder if the Administrative Office for the US Courts issued some nationwide guidance on how how federal magistrates should deal with bond matters for the insurrection, considering that there will ultimately be a few thousand of these cases and the judiciary may want some uniformity to the process.
The judge should have severely restricted or prohibited this POS from having any internet access.

It's their blissful ignorance about having done anything wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | 01/11/2021 |
$25,000? Shit, the perps on L&O get no less than $1m in bail!

I don't think this thread is going quite as OP intended.

"he'd like to spend time with his family".
His wife (the breadwinner) is fed up with his useless and has filed for divorce and custody.
She'll get it, too.

These people must make so many bad decisions in their lives, but probably have enablers who rush to their help when they fuck-up yet again. I'm sure the adrenaline was pumping, but you should research the legal repercussions first if you break + enter the Speaker of the House's office.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | 01/11/2021 |
$25,00 bail for violent insurrection at a federal building? Who the fuck is this judge? If he were black he wouldn't even have been allowed bail.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | 01/11/2021 |
Ok, this is one of the few times someone should take off their damn mask. If I didn't know any better, I'd consider that piece of shit sexy!

Maybe he wanted the lectern so he could change his ceiling light bulbs.

Yeah I imagine the family of the dead capitol hill cop would like to spend some quality time with him also, aren't there still police officers in the hospital?
Seems to me I remember some black teenagers who were all in one car together, one of them went into a convenience store, robbed the place and killed the clerk, everyone in the car was charged with murder. Why are not each of these people who stormed the capitol being charged with murder?

From link: "On or about January 7, 2021, the lectern was found by a member of the Senate staff in the Red corridor of the Senate wing off the Rotunda in the Capitol building," the arrest warrant said. "According to the House of Representatives’ curator, the Speaker’s lectern has a market value of more than $1,000.""

They all seem to be losers of one stripe or another, whether it's Jake "I can only eat organic prison food cuz I'm a shaman and stuff" Angeli living with his mom at age 32, or this unemployed shorty, they are all the sad dregs of society and of course, the irony that the Republican party exists to *keep" them the dregs is utterly lost on them.

It wasn’t hard to identify Adam Johnson. He was the goofy-grinning guy stealing Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, not a care in the world, like he was at a sorority house panty raid in 1952 instead of an all-out riot at the United States Capitol.
Allan Mestel knew as soon as he saw the photo. That was Johnson, all right: Unemployed, father of five, married to a doctor, resident of Parrish. Mestel had met Johnson at a social function before, and as a photographer in Manatee County he remembered his face. They also have some friends in common. He knew things about him.
