Thank you, OP! I have been trying to remember his name for forever. Not because I liked him and wanted to know, "What happened to her?" but because there's some other celebrity whose name pops up every now and again and I think, "Oh, yeah. Toothy man with hair. Talks alot." But it's always some woman I've probably never seen because her credits aren't anything I'd watch, Kaley Cuoco or somebody.

he was ridiculously sick at the peak of his fame, something with kidneys but it was bad. When he came back to TV his body was bloated from steroids but, more tragically, his affect seemed to have been flattened somewhat. That was the deadliest part, because he was so entertaining and over the top. That type of thing can be expected during the long recovery from a grave illness and transplant, maybe he came back too soon, or the rejection drugs were making him depressed or sluggish. I hope he’s back to his old self, he was such a hoot.

He always seemed to be genuinely nice. I would imagine it would be difficult to go through a serious health crisis that dramatically changes ones appearance, if you're in the public eye.

Roommate says he's also part Romanian because his name means coat maker...and not just any coat but a sheep wool coat men wear at festive occasions with long boots they tap heartily to impress with their agility.

He has a kidney problem - which led to two transplants. I think that's why his face is like that. You girls are so mean.

I recall him being sick and gaining weight. I think he was on one or two red carpets and 'Fashion Police' eps before laying low, after some criticism on his weight gain.

R24 - I think the weight gain and bloat was due to the kidney issues and treatment. Sad.
