I'm loving it.

by Anonymousreply 1January 6, 2021 4:29 PM

Keep in mind just BARELY - we need to fix it so they never get power again, like they tried to do to us.

by Anonymousreply 2January 6, 2021 4:33 PM

They won't end today. Or this month. Much whining. And hopefully not, but potentially violence beyond the DC brawls.

There will be an inner battle as they work to take Georgia back and take the Senate next year.

I think media is right that 'Trumpism' is being repudiated - but it isn't being utterly repudiated, and previously established Republicanism really hasn't, and we haven't properly seen the results of a synthesis of both. So some Republicans will be strategizing on how best to capitalize this instead of pot shotting each other. But the latter will happen a lot in the meanwhile.

by Anonymousreply 3January 6, 2021 4:35 PM

Ahhh....The sweet and salty taste of MAGAt and Trumpanzee tears!

by Anonymousreply 4January 6, 2021 4:39 PM

The land mines left behind are the federal judges. Republicans will use them to block Biden the way Democrats did with Trump.

by Anonymousreply 5January 6, 2021 4:39 PM

Exactly. They lost, but barely, so a sizable number of people actually support this lunacy. As much as I wish it would go away, his loss will create a vacuum into which a new fascist can step.

Clearly there is not much we agree on, not even the need to act responsibly during this pandemic. Trump tapped into something nasty...the cat will not willingly go back in the bag and we’ll need to deal with it.

by Anonymousreply 6January 6, 2021 4:40 PM

Democrats need to be absolutely ruthless against the the Repigs! Pack the courts with Democrat federal judges everywhere, prosecute each and every one of those crooked Russiapublican congressmen, pass legislation. I want their life to be absolute hell and for them to get a taste of their own medicine!

by Anonymousreply 7January 6, 2021 4:42 PM

Good. Now Biden can fire Louis DeJoy.

by Anonymousreply 8January 6, 2021 4:42 PM

I tuned into AM radio this morning and the massive amounts of white grievances and fragility was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 9January 6, 2021 4:44 PM

The Republicans never learned from their mistakes.

I've been inexplicably happy today. When I saw the news that we won GA, I realized why. 2021 is off to a great start!!!!

by Anonymousreply 11January 6, 2021 4:46 PM

I wonder if Mitch McConnell will retire. He's been in power so long I don't think he could handle being sent to the back of the room.

by Anonymousreply 12January 6, 2021 4:49 PM

[quote] I wonder if Mitch McConnell will retire.

I wonder if Elaine Chao is going to beat his ass black and blue again.

by Anonymousreply 13January 6, 2021 4:50 PM

Tragically, if Mitch retired, his replacement would be appointed by a Democratic governor.

by Anonymousreply 14January 6, 2021 4:51 PM

Elaine is just as bad as he is

by Anonymousreply 15January 6, 2021 4:51 PM

I look forward to a more sensible, scienctifically-based approach to the pandemic....which deserves the credit for his downfall and became the curse that showed us how much he, and many of our fellow Americans, didn't care.

I feel for the National Guard and DC police having to expose themselves to the fools that fell for the con and are in the streets today trying to defeat democracy. I hope they live through any exposure. They're doing their jobs only because they HAVE to and may those who are doing this to them be cursed with their own hubris.

Lost a dear friend early this morning to COVID-19 who got it while in the hospital for cancer treatments. I'm fucking done with trumper crap and any tears of disappointment they have. Boo the fucking hoo that they will no longer be allowed to believe the racist, misogynist fantasy world of an America that belongs 'only to them' - like the PPE and ventilators.

I hope they cry for a long time to come. Stay safe out there, everyone.

That gif warms the icy cavern where my heart used to reside.

by Anonymousreply 17January 6, 2021 4:53 PM

The Democrats had best not implement a forgive-forget moving-on-to-heal-the-country approach. The Republican power structure must be held accountable, legally and publicly, without restraint.

by Anonymousreply 18January 6, 2021 4:55 PM

DING DONG.....you rang, R18?

by Anonymousreply 19January 6, 2021 4:56 PM

[quote] There will be an inner battle as they work to take Georgia back and take the Senate next year.

Are the two Senate seats we just won for only 2 years?? Not a full 6 year term?

by Anonymousreply 20January 6, 2021 5:02 PM

One of each R20. The black guy is for two years, the white boy is for a 6 year term.

by Anonymousreply 21January 6, 2021 5:05 PM

Is there an official thread for the Congress tally?

by Anonymousreply 22January 6, 2021 5:06 PM

Once Trump is removed from government, we should wish him a long and active political career. He energises Democrats and independents, and splits Republicans very nicely. He will be the Democrats best asset next year, as he continues to stir up chaos and pursues his own narcissistic agenda. He needs to tweet frequently and continue to bully his Senate minions to push them nicely to the unelectable extremes.

Establishment Republicans must know that they need to win a war against him, but let’s hope they remain completely cowed by him. It might be just the thing needed to win a clutch of Senate seats for the Dems.

by Anonymousreply 23January 6, 2021 5:07 PM

This I think, R22:

I think they just lost their second civil war.

by Anonymousreply 25January 6, 2021 5:08 PM

Thanks r24

by Anonymousreply 26January 6, 2021 5:09 PM

I hate to have to point this out, but keep in mind that it will only take two or three Dem senators opposing the rest to block any legislation. We had this happen in Obama's first admin. If they don't vote unanimously, we lose. Past history shows that Dems never do anything unanimously.

I'm a lifelong Dem and the tendency of our party to have mavericks feeling smug about not going along with their peers has driven me crazy. We can't blame the GOP when senators on our side buck our own voters.

by Anonymousreply 27January 6, 2021 5:24 PM

R25, good one!

by Anonymousreply 28January 6, 2021 5:34 PM

R29, lol!

by Anonymousreply 30January 6, 2021 6:10 PM

Does anyone know what Senate seats are up for reelection in 2022? No time like the present to gauge where the vulnerabilities are for both sides.

R3 is right. The Trump PAC (aka the Fake Election Fraud Fund) will be financing some really sketchy characters.

But we really need to be vigilant about Trump 2.0, be it Hawley, Cruz, or Cotton (whose non-support for today's shit show doesn't entitle him to a pass).

by Anonymousreply 31January 6, 2021 6:20 PM

Tom Nichols says Cotton is dangerous and I believe him.

by Anonymousreply 32January 6, 2021 6:22 PM

I sure hope Trump keeps casting doubt on the voting process and infighting with other Republicans -- I would say it worked out quite well for the Democrats!

by Anonymousreply 33January 6, 2021 6:38 PM

They're melting down on Parler!

by Anonymousreply 34January 6, 2021 7:00 PM

Boris and Natasha are pretty quiet today!

by Anonymousreply 35January 6, 2021 8:35 PM

Nobody stormed the capital after Hillary's loss. What a bunch of whiny cunts.

by Anonymousreply 36January 7, 2021 4:14 AM

They need to get used to losing. We out number them.

by Anonymousreply 37January 7, 2021 4:18 AM

Maybe a few hundred of them will Jonestown themselves now that the writing is on the wall.

by Anonymousreply 38January 7, 2021 4:21 AM

I want footage of Republicans shell-shocked and crying.

by Anonymousreply 39January 7, 2021 6:15 PM

Dawn Gregg (sister of Ricky Schroder and wife of actor Bradley Gregg) was part of this insurrection as well. She was seen on a news clip ransacking papers in an office of the Capitol.

R40 I'd love to see her and shitty Ricky arrested.

by Anonymousreply 41January 7, 2021 7:13 PM

It's time to make the Republicans pay!

by Anonymousreply 42January 11, 2021 2:42 AM

I don't see why Democrats (and other parties) can't use Trump as a weapon against their Republican opponent. Just bring-up whatever they said in support of Trump in their life, and that would be enough.

They all thought he was gold, but he turned out to be shit.

by Anonymousreply 43January 11, 2021 2:47 AM

The problem is we have some far-left dems who will push their agenda and only vote with the party if they get their way.

by Anonymousreply 44January 11, 2021 2:48 AM

What a bunch of crying little babies these Republicans turned out to be when they didn't get their way. I'd call them snowflakes, but that would be insult to snowflakes.

by Anonymousreply 45January 11, 2021 2:50 AM

You people are so clueless. My source has told me that Trump has already found proof of Democrats election rigging, child trafficking, devil worship and murder coverup. And Nancy evil bitch has been arrested when she tried to flee to Maxico. And Biden has conceded to Trump on phone and begging him for pardon.

Big news coming out in 12 hours.

by Anonymousreply 46January 11, 2021 3:20 AM

The Q Anon tears definitely flowing today.
