I bothered to read it. It took 2 minutes. It's fairly well written but the argument is contradictory. It's a long assignment of well-deserved shame to dumb ass gay circuit instawhores, but then says the real culprit is institutional failure.

We have several groups of "over Covid" deplorable pleasure seekers. Not just the ciircuit gays. They all deserved a dollop of shame and yes, it's their character, not "institutional failure" to blame.

I get calling out the circuit gays within our own community but I'm not real keen on places like NYT surreptitiously calling them out, or sketchy rightwing IGs calling them out, because this seems like something that should stay within the community. People are openly flouting public health measures, and the government is refusing to fine or prosecute people who endanger others. The only recourse left to the sensible is social pressure, and like it or not, in the modern world social pressure is applied through social media. And for people who are alienated from the mainstream, sometimes the only effective messages are the ones that come from within their own minority community.

Not all "shaming" is bad, when people should be ashamed of themselves for endangering others but aren't, they NEED to be shamed.

To be honest, what happened today at the Capitol has been a great diversion for those being party shamed.
