Do you think that we disturb the dead when we think about them?
Do they know if we think about them and remember them?
I'm wondering if we disturb them or sense some energy waves directed at them when the living think about them? I know it's good to remember those who have passed, but I'm wondering if they know when it happens.

Of course they know. They are on another plane of existence though

I believe the dead can interfere in the lives of their loved ones too. Like in crucial situations

You think our energy reaches them, R1?

There is no afterlife. They are dead.

Trust me, if there was a way for the dead to contact the living, my mother would have found it and moved in with me.

Do they get to choose their pronouns where they are?

They watch you masturbate and poop, OP.
Those are the only things that get their attention, those are the only things they care about. Your grandma watches you jerk it and strain on the crapper. Praise to The Universe.

Yes. Bea Arthur is definitely aware that we're posting about her big penis, and Olivia de Havilland realizes that she hasn't been officially replaced as of yet. Olivia finds it funny, but Bea really isn't abused.

I think they know but I don’t think it upsets them. I think they would only be upset if they felt like worried for you because they love you. I knew a native elder years ago who didn’t like talking about Sasquatch especially after night because she said he’d come both her. Sometimes she’s see them in waking life or dreams.

OP: yes, there is still some inexplicable connection .
I’m elder; lost mom three years ago; dad seven years ago. Both in their nineties.
No one can prepare for this. Mom had Alzheimer’s for years . So heartbreaking. I thought her death might somehow be easier on me cause I was losing her for so many years . Not true .
When I think about my parents so strongly I just feel a type of shift in my heart. I like to interpret this as some type of “gesture” from them . Who knows? But it comforts me
I think a lot of this should have been posted on other thread but it freaked me out too much

Sorry, amused. I was distracted by the Cocoanut Cream Pie that Dawn just made in our heavenly kitchen.

I believe our loved ones want to be thought of and spoken of, and not forgotten. It is said that we die twice; first, when our body dies and then, the last time our name is spoken (or we are thought of, in my view). But I think it must either hurt or infuriate them when they are spoken about or thought of in a bad way.
I plan to bestow some benches in the park, with a small plaque with my name. Hopefully weary people will offer a bit of thanks when they sit down for a rest.

R7, when I was a small child, my mother said to me, "When I die, you better bury me face down, because I will dig my way out and haunt you." I swear to god, when I was organising her funeral, I considered it.
Little did I know what was in store for me regarding her estate. She may not have dug her way out, but she lived on and on. It made me resolve to try to leave only good memories in the minds of those I will leave behind.

When we get to heaven, we will be able to see our loved ones again. Life on this earth is only temporary, eternal life in heaven is what is truly important.

Sometimes I really want them to know that they’re loved and missed but other times I worry that if they are still “with us” on another plane of existence that I’ll say or do something to disappoint them.

Yes, Op. They even made a documentary about it.

If the dead could contact the living I’d get a message from my mother every day telling me what I did wrong today.

r22 LOL she is telling you everyday, you just can't hear her. She will eventually stop when she realizes you can't hear her.
