I either have a rash or a spider bite.
My back itches

I'll alert the media.

I bought a backscratcher last week.
Of course that doesn’t help you any.

Use a ruler.

First sign of shingles.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 1, 2021 5:56 AM |
It’s like a raised welt with bumps on it. I can’t really bend to see it, though.

OP, learn to use a mirror. If you can check out your bunghole with a mirror, surely you can figure out how to look at your back.

R6, it’s in a weird place. My bunghole is centered.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 1, 2021 6:10 AM |
No bunghole is ever centered, it's either to the right or left of the center seam.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 1, 2021 6:13 AM |
R8, mine is perfectly symmetrical.

I got a picture of it. It looks like a lump plus a couple of scratch marks…from where I scratched it too hard. What should I put on it?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 1, 2021 10:35 AM |
OP, it may be Grover's disease. Nothing serious, it's basically like a heat rash. You back breaks out and itches when you sweat. Use an anti dandruff shampoo on your back and it will go away.

r4 may have called it.
I saw an online doctor today and she wasn't sure if it was shingles or hives, mostly because it just itches, doesn't hurt, but put me on an anti-viral as a precaution. And, also, she said that normally by now (about 6 days in) shingles would be oozing and scabbing and I just have this bumpy rectangular welt. If it keeps getting worse despite taking the horse pills, plus spraying it with topical Benadryl, I'm to see a doctor in-person on Monday.
So, this year is off to an awesome start....
I know I've seen shingles threads here before so I'll take a dive into any advice in those. But, if you have any suggestions for me and my pet rash…

Cortisone cream? ask your doctor, though.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 2, 2021 5:08 AM |
Get some Cordizone Aquino cream.

Its probably a rash caused by a spider bite. A Brown Recluse spider, I think. Your skin has probably already begun the process of rotting from the center of the bite outward. You'll notice it sloughing off in the shower soon. It sometimes just stops. Or not. Yours probably won't. Its non contagious, so go ahead and continue having sex. If you can find someone.

R15, I had a boyfriend from Mississippi who got bit by a Brown Recluse on his back and had to carve the rotting flesh out with a pocket knife. He lived!

Early stages of liver failure. Or the consumption. May I please have your stuff?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 2, 2021 6:36 AM |
R16, yes, I got bit by one by my pool in Austin TX once. I saw the damn thing right after it bit me, and recognized what it was, so i ran in the house and put meat tenderizer on the bite. for whatever reason, meat tenderizer acts as an antidote to the poison. I still have a very tiny hole in my skin where the bite was, but didn't have to do any carving on my leg. They're awful.

I bought a backscratcher at Rite-Aid, but when I got it home, I noticed that CA warning label on it and returned it. Better to itch than to catch cancer relieving it,

R18, I feel like science should be more focused on making things like murderous spiders and mosquitoes go extinct. I know people claim other bugs need to eat their carcasses, but I just don’t buy it. Am I an insect eugenicist?

I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or what, but I’m 3 doses in and fee like a fucking champ. How do I get a regular script for Valtrex without actually having Herpes?

Covid
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 2, 2021 11:30 AM |
R24, are people getting weird rashes from Covid?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 2, 2021 11:42 AM |
R24, my rash doesn’t really seem to match with any of these. It’s a rectangular welt with little bumps that’s gotten progressively worse over the last week or so. It’s pretty much consistently itchy.
I have appt for an in-person follow up for Monday morning, in the event, it is continuing to get worse despite the anti-virals. If I need to keep the appt maybe they’ll be willing to swab my nose without forcing me to make a separate appointment.

2nd opinion agrees with the Shingles diagnosis. Got a CV19 swab while I was there.
The welt part is gone and now it’s like a horseshoe of red dots with more dots inside.
