Late one night caught one of those cheesy Hammer Dracula films on television (Brides of Dracula), and decided to watch for the camp value.
In a switch Peter Cushing was playing the Van Helsing role, and this blonde handsome god David Peel was the vampire.
Looked up DP and he ticked all standard boxes for British actors of his generation (war service, Royal Academy alum, etc...) but also was known to be gay as a goose.

R5, not so fast. The Brides of Dracula is one of Hammer's best vampire films, with gorgeous production values and a gay vampire who's *never* going to find the right girl. How obvious is he? Well, he still lives with his mother.

What always find amusing about these Dracula or whatever vampire movies is that the hero or whoever is expressly and explicitly warned by locals to keep clear (and they ought to know), or told not to do something. What do they do? Exactly what they were told not to and now there's a vampire on the lose again.
You don't see POC in these films because blacks know the fuck better. If you hear strange noises down in a dark basement or outside in the woods you stay for fucking ass in your rooms. You certainly don't go downstairs or outside wearing a low cut long gown and high heels.....

David Peel was a very attractive man, but we know very little about him outside of his acting career. That and he ended up becoming an antiques dealer who was very involved with local church.
DP arrived on first day on set to shoot Brides of Dracula, or maybe to read/audition carrying his two small poodles. If there were any doubts that entrance soon put things to rest.
