WHET Tracy James ?

You know former hot go-go boy at NYC gay bars, model, fitness instructor, blah, blah, blah....

Talking about old NYC club kid scene with old friends as news of Michael Alig's death had many reminiscing, when up pops this bit into my inbox.

Tracy James has left Bayonne, NJ, modeling (and whatever else) for lovely California. He's been married for several years now, and he and Mrs. James own a coffee shop.

First I was like "no way", but did some sleuthing and sure enough, it does seem to be Tracy James; I'd know that face anywhere, even half hidden by a mask.

Did he ever work at The Gaiety?

TJ was never that broke or low rent to dance at Gaiety. Far as one knows he was part of John Blair's stable of go-go boys who danced at his events at Roxy or similar parties. Used to see him at Limelight, but forget if he was working (dancing) or just out with friends.

I’ve seen that coffee shop for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never been to it.

Well now you have a reason. Your mission; should you choose to accept it, is to make contact and verify if co-owner is indeed former stud Tracy James. Then of course report back all the juicy details to us here on DL.

He survived the lecherous owners of Splash and their sexual harrassment during the 90s, good for him.

For good part of 1990's TJ had those workout videos, modeling in Cosmopolitan and other mags, then came 2Xist (as their first "face" as it were), how much he would have needed working at Splash by that point might be up for debate.

TJ was part of a core group of JB dancers who made bank at Roxy and everywhere else, well at least their jocks kept getting filled all night. One was this really hot guy "Amir", the other was a firefighter from somewhere in NJ.
