She's also smart enough to get good collaborators. She bought the rights to novel Gone Girl, with the intention of producing and starring in it, but when she met with David Fincher, whom she wanted to direct the film (and who ultimately did), she listened when he told her that she wasn't right for the part and stepped aside.

These two are the perfect example of good instincts when it comes to career-management more than real acting talent. Despite I think both are really good, you have to be to make that big in Hollywood, with Margot being a much more complete actress with more perfect features to be great.

Big Little Lies made her cool

Well, it was surprising she wasn’t the one setting little fires everywhere.

A good book club can revive a career, and provide inspiration for your production company’s intellectual property purchases. Killing two birds with one stone. If only Winona had started a book club after her sticky fingers event, she would have comeback much sooner.

Not a great actress but, as she’s proved lately, has a good sense of what will please the public. Would love to see her play more mean girl/villain roles. Her career ranked after playing those stupid rom coms. She should embrace her cold hard streak in roles.

Reese is a producer who initiates her own projects.

Of course she's going to be more successful than the average actress, who just sits around and waits for the phone to ring.

Fair point, Jennifer's done more comedies than Reese has.

Aniston is a much more laid back and cool public presence. When she was younger - always so pretty without trying too hard and as she grew older - staying healthy and letting it happen. Show the legs and good skin and keep the hair happening. (Jen could have played Streisand in some bad biopic.) Her whole deal is drier and ironic. It's not a warm public persona but an understandable one. She's a chick. Being herself, but she'll deflect anything too personal with humor or a thrown margarita. Aniston always seems more like herself. Reese is no doubt smarter, faster and less stoned, ha. She's a pageant girl in life AND drag race terms. Always a good interview. But she drives even her best friends and family hard behind the scenes.

I think she can be a good actress when she wants to be. She's great in Freeway. I like her in ensembles like Inherent Vice and American Psycho. Those were small roles but she was enjoyable in them.

I agree R79 I think even film traditional film fans these days are tuning into series now rather than cinema. The stories are more like films used to be and they can flesh out things more in a limited series than they can in a film.
