Bernice was about the only thing watchable in that show’s later seasons.

Quit trying to make designing women happen.

I lived in Atlanta when this show was at it's most popular. I swear I knew each one of those women in my daily life, but they are more real estate agents then designers

It’s a Christmas tree skirt. For your Christmas tree.

@r5, "Oh, dear. "
Come back when you learn how to form a complete sentence, dear.

The best thing about Bernice was her randomness. She would be given these comedic non sequiturs and it just worked. Perfect example is the 'black man, black man' song. Just out of the blue she starts singing it, Anthony responds, and comedy gold ensues.

Alice Ghostley was my favorite TV actress when she was on DW. I wrote her a fan letter and a few months later when I received a charming note back from her, I almost passed out at my mail box.
Her note was on a card with her smiling with a rose between her teeth.
I wrote Alice another couple of notes and she wrote back once. Her letters are among my most prized possessions.
I told her that I was disappointed in how the show was handling Delta Burke’s departure and she agreed. I also wished her good luck at the Emmys that year when she was nominated for Supporting Actress in a Guest Role. Sadly, she didn’t win.
