I've been watching old movies all day. Look at this guy... hot hot hot.
I looked at his photo - MEH

I watch "It's a Wonderful Life" just to see Harry walk in the door. I think I'd like James Stewart too: (in awe) Harry!

Peter Browne changed his name to Peter Glenville. He left the screen in the 40s for theatre direction which allowed him to return as a screen director (and he made some absolute clunkers in the 60s)

Here's John with Tab Hunter. Tab's drool was photoshopped out.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 25, 2020 10:29 PM |
Peter Glenville was gay, too

Bromfield reminds me of another B-actor who was prime beef: Steve Cochran.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 26, 2020 12:35 AM |
Bromfield reminds me more of George Nader (who I consider as a B-actor).
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 26, 2020 1:09 AM |
George Nader was so hot

Another pretty man from the 40s was the Irish Shaun Noble.
He appeared briefly in Deborah Kerr's delirium scene in 'Black Narcissus' representing all the sensual pleasure forbidden to her by her vows to Jesus.
I've seen him in other roles but his impossible prettiness made the characters he was playing as non-credible.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 26, 2020 10:53 PM |
Shaun Noble was really handsome. His career didn't amount to much, though
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 26, 2020 11:02 PM |
^. He was like Warren Beatty in the 1960s. He was too pretty to play a normal human being.
Eva Marie Saint said to Beatty in 'All Fall Down' in 1962: 'You're too pretty to be a garage attendant, you should be in movies'.

Alfred Lynch was a cutie and he was gay, too (also a very talented actor)

[quote] Alfred Lynch … was gay
Did you get to know him, R16?
I remember he got top billing over Sean Connery in a very broad comedy called 'On the Fiddle' in 1961 but the last film I saw him in was that Sidney Lumet "Seagull in 1968.

^ How very provocative. He exposes his navel!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 27, 2020 1:22 AM |
John Bromfield looks like a gay Fred MacMurray.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 27, 2020 1:38 AM |
John Ericson was hot as hell. He died earlier this year.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 27, 2020 1:39 AM |
As far as hot guys from old movies..... How about a young John Payne from his 20th Century Fox days in the late 1930's/early 40's?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 27, 2020 3:23 PM |
or John Payne's fellow Fox contract player/star from the same period....the romantic swashbuckler Tyrone Power.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 27, 2020 3:52 PM |
Tyrone was gorgeous but he had dodgy dental work in the 30s.
He had soft Gutta-percha to fill gaps in his teeth and you can see it's inconsistent in various scenes.

A couple of days ago, the Irish actor Shaun Noble was mentioned on this thread. His Wikipedia page notes that he was born in 1921 in Dun Loaghaire and died in London in 1999. He apparently appeared in only a small handful of films from 1945-1949 and twice on British t.v. 1953 & 1955. I wonder what happened to him? Did he make an early retirement from acting and pursued another field? I think, based upon this photo, that he is one of the most strikingly handsome men I have ever seen from that era.

Wilcoxon's legs were gorgeous when he was younger. His thing was to pick up young military guys and fuck then crazy.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 1, 2021 4:29 AM |
What's this about Wilcoxon picking up military guys?!
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 1, 2021 4:31 AM |
Will Cocks would pick them up and sling them over his shoulder and then take them home and ravish them.

The sailor in this scene from "She Done Him Wrong" is so modern-day handsome but he's only there for six seconds. He's in another scene, but he doesn't speak so I've never been able to figure out who he was. Too early to be an employee at Scotty Bowers' filling station. Maybe he caught Cary Grant's eye.

Joan Collins' first husband was a weird one.
He looked hot if he was groomed and photographed well. But if he stood up and tried to act he was terrible. In some films he looked ridiculously tall and skinny and in others he looked like an unwashed spiv.

How can a man who looks like this be named Buster Crabbe?
Buster Crabbe, who grew up in Hawaii and swam for the University of Southern California, competed at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam, winning a bronze medal in the 1,500-metre freestyle and finishing in fourth place in the 400-metre freestyle. At the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles, Crabbe faced world record holder Jean Taris of France and Olympic record holder Takashi Yokoyama of Japan in the 400-metre freestyle finals. Taris led most of the race, but Crabbe pulled even with 25 m to go and reached the wall one-tenth of a second ahead of Taris to set an Olympic record (4 min 48.4 sec) and win the gold medal. Hollywood movie producers, aware of the acting success enjoyed by Johnny Weissmuller after his Olympic swimming gold, signed Crabbe to an acting contract. He starred in more than 170 movies, including the title roles in the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials. He also appeared on television, authored fitness books, and owned a successful swimming pool company. Crabbe set 16 world records and was named to the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Dewey Martin was 5'8" of hot twunk ass back in the 1950s.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 2, 2021 1:12 PM |

How long do you suppose Dewey’s hair was if he’d just worn it ‘relaxed’?

I never thought much of Mitchum, but after Night of The Hunter, I was hooked(even though his character was a psycho) on his sexiness.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 2, 2021 6:05 PM |
R62 I never thought Mitchum was good looking, but he did have a smoldering sexiness about him. You know he could throw a mean fuck.

Ken Clark showing denim bulge in 'South Pacific,' (dancing nearly nude in a floral costume, too); also shirtless and wet , and showing VPL in 'Attack of the Giant Leeches,' plus shirtless in a Z-grade spy thriller, and he posed nude!

R58 Dewey Martin was in a western with Kirk Douglas called "The Big Sky," and the homoeroticism in their characters' relationship was anything but subtle.
That movie's been mentioned in a lot of books about gay characters in movies.

TCM just showed "The Rise And Fall Of Legs Diamond" (1960), which I don't consider an "old" movie, but its star definitely counts as a "hot guy": Ray Danton!

I don't think so, R72
The creature on the left is an egomaniac who thinks he's the sexiest creature on earth. He's lying down bringing his genitals up closer to one of his foolish admirers.
The egomaniac loves nothing but himself.
