Why is FreeCell so addicting?
It can't just be me.
I can take or leave any other online game, including the allegedly addictive ones, like Collapse or Tetris or Candy Crush. (I used to play Tetris on Nintendo in the early 90s.) Traditional Solitaire bores me.
But no matter what I do, I cannot quit FreeCell.

OP, I don't understand all of the statistics, but here are mine:
Gold Grand Master 18
Level 487
Expert deck
99% won (it would be 100% but I lost 3 games while trying to get used to the touchpad on a new laptop, which caused me to click wrong and end those games prematurely -- my policy is to keep at it until I win, even if it takes days)
I think this is the same as the English game "Patience", which I've been told is never unsolveable.

I was addicted to Spider. Now I'm hooked on a game called (rightfully) Addiction. I've never played FreeCell but I'll try it and report back!

r1 yes, my latest obsession is playing games until I win them, instead of giving up.
I think it's fueling my addiction!!

Is FreeCell something different than Solitaire? That's all I see in OP's pic.

It's a version of Solitaire but with different rules, r4.
It depends more on skill than luck

It's because no matter how difficult, it's always winnable, OP.

I'm addicted too. I've played about 5500 games with 70% wins. I don't go back more than a few cards to try and win. The only other game app on my phone is 7 little words which I do every day.

I used to play that. My addiction is SodaCrush (Candy, too), and Words With Friends.

OP, I'm reporting back. I've played four games and won all of them easily. I'm not bragging; I just don't understand how you can lose at a game 'you can't lose' --- I'll go back to Spider or Addiction; something that needs some luck besides skill.

I play on my laptop on a daily basis, using a program called "Pretty Good Solitaire". Though it has over 1000 different solitaire games, I have only got 13 favorites. Right now I stick to 2 types of Freecell games, Klondike, Pyramid, 3 Shuffles and a Draw, 2 versions of Spider and a few more. I keep telling myself to try some new game(s) but some of the rules are so complicated it scares me away from dipping in, but later I'm gonna look for the game called Addition that R10 mentioned and see if I like it.

I spent April and May addicted to Solitaire Cube and the summer playing spider solitaire cube. Now I’m addicted to golf solitaire.

I'm too stupid to know how to play it.
