All this talk of SATC has had me thinking. Have you ever known a real-life woman over the age of 30 who thought her promiscuity and need for attention and obsession with buying clothes and shoes made her special and cute, rather than greedy and narcissistic and sad?
Have you know a real-life Carrie Bradshaw?

*"known," not "know"

She doesn’t look 30 in your pic OP. She looks mid 40s and her dress is tacky. Failed thread

Over the age of 40 is still over the age of 30, brainiac.

No. Why are so many fraus and gays so obsessed with this stupid show? I tried to watch it and I just couldn’t. Sarah Jessica Parker is an uggo. There is no way she would attract so many cute boyfriends.

I think I have known some gals like this. However, they may have been influenced by SATC.

I have (these types are plentiful in fashion retail). Like someone mentioned above, I think a lot of these women were influenced by the show though. I don't keep in touch with most of them, but from what I've gathered, their lives didn't continue on the same trajectory as CB's. Men really aren't interested in vaginally-busted, pseudo-alcoholic 30-somethings who over dress. Further, contrary to what the show presented, spending high amounts on fashion led to them becoming broke, not successful.

Yes. Several.
A group of them made me watch this train wreck once. And only once.
While we were arguing about it the t.v. was still on. Next thing I knew I was watching the premier of Six Feet Under.
The girls were babbling about Carrie & company and I found my favorite series ever.
That's the one good thing I can say about that horrible show and it's unlikable characters.

What, like a horse?

I do, actually. Not completely, she's kind of a mixture of Carrie Bradshaw and Grace Adler. What's funny is that she really hates both of those characters and can't see how similar she is to them.

No but I've known gay men who do

You mean a deluded woman way past her 20s that eats brunch everyday with her unreal friends, acts like (and is) a self-absorbed bitch and can't afford any of the thousands of shoes she has bought? No, thankfully, I don't.

Isn't that why Carrie was so desperate to land "Big?" She couldn't afford her lifestyle on her shop girl earnings, so she needed a wealthy man to make that happen for her, and to pay off her spectacular debt.
Not very empowering if you ask me.

Jeez, you’re a tough bunch. I loved the show and the characters. It was a good time. It doesn’t have to be hyper real.

SATC sukt.

But she was so easy to take care of! Just brush her down and give her a nice bag of oats.
