Can You Spot a Narcissist by Their Eyebrows?

We think we can spot them. People who never miss a chance to catch a glance of their own reflection, never met a mirror they didn’t like, and who look down their nose at others. But is that really a reliable way to spot narcissists? After all, research shows they are both flashy and fun—often the type of people who make you feel happy to be around them. Livening up the crowd with their energy and extraversion, you might find them very attractive—initially. At some point, you will perceive the real personality behind the persona. So to save you some valuable time, can you spot a narcissist sooner rather than later—just by looking?

Well that's short and easy to read and understand but it needed PICTURES, EXAMPLES. Finally a waste with no examples.

Interesting, too: an earlier study found a correlation between eyebrow plucking and levels of narcissism in women.

This thread immediately made think of a hot guy on TikTok. I went over to pull a vid and he’s live right now doing a gay GRWM. So, my suspicion is right.

Still hot, though.

You mean guys whose eyebrows move all over their face while they speak?

by Anonymousreply 8March 12, 2021 10:19 PM

Psychology Today has mutated into pop psychology central. The original study they cite, "Eyebrows cue grandiose narcissism" is behind a $$ paywall. But from the article, this hardly seems like serious, PhD level research.

A study is allowed to consist of five guys who refuse to shit in the author’s mouth.

I was born with what I’ve been told are great eyebrows and they are natural arched. Imma narcissist now?

by Anonymousreply 11March 12, 2021 10:46 PM

r9 see the link at r5

by Anonymousreply 12March 12, 2021 10:53 PM

OOPS! R5 is blocked. Do you have fancy eyebrows, R5?

by Anonymousreply 13March 12, 2021 11:29 PM

r13, I am both r12 and r5. How could you see one of my posts but not the other?

by Anonymousreply 14March 12, 2021 11:35 PM

Hi queens, what do you think is my diagnosis? Beside being a Trumpista of course...

The current caterpillar eyebrow trend would mean that a great percentage of people would qualify as narcissists. Does the study take fashion trends into account?

What about people who have naturally bushy brows, are they all narcissistic by nature?

by Anonymousreply 16March 12, 2021 11:45 PM

My lengthy 'ignore' list seems to come and go on Android, R5, but I regret blocking you. I have an itchy finger.

by Anonymousreply 17March 12, 2021 11:59 PM

All is forgiven r17!

by Anonymousreply 18March 13, 2021 12:12 AM

OP, you've only described one kind of narcissist. My ex was a covert narcissist; they're introverted, sullen, passive- aggressive, petulant, nasty, self -centred, have no empathy. They operate by having you feel sorry for them as a way of getting you in. They're always the victim, everyone is out to get them, but they also have very high opinions of themselves and share other traits with the grandiose (typical) narcissist. And yes, my ex DID have thick, bushy eyebrows,

by Anonymousreply 19March 13, 2021 2:06 AM

R19, was your ex able to make those very unfavorable personality disorders in the early part of your relationship??

by Anonymousreply 20March 13, 2021 2:17 AM

Hard to believe anyone would ask for examples of this phenomenon.

r20 if you mean did he show those traits early on, mostly no, some I looked past because i was besotted with him. They 'love bomb' you by giving you what they think you want, drawing you in, and once you fall for them and you're hooked they show their true colours. Horrible experience.

by Anonymousreply 22March 13, 2021 3:03 AM

This is stupid.

by Anonymousreply 23March 13, 2021 3:06 AM

Thanks for chiming in, r23, with your scintillating observation.
