Pluto TV
I just discovered this. I can watch Beverly Hills, 90210 24 hours a day? That's what's up. I haven't watched it in years. I want to do nothing else but watch it for the next several weeks.
What else good is on here?
What is the catch? I can't believe this is free.

I wouldn't mind the commercials if they weren't so sudden and random. Like, why can't they just run commercials at the regular intervals, when the show fades for the normal commercial break? Instead it's on top of a line of dialogue or whatever. And, I'm sorry, but if you're watching Threes Company, you know that each line is carefully considered and crafted.

Started watching the Flicks Of Fury movie channel. They show Kung Fu movies all the way from Kung Fu movies of the 70's to recent modern Epics. Gotta say I had zero interest in these movies but some are garbage and some are wildly entertaining.

They have a whole channel dedicated to Bob Barker era episodes of The Price is Right that I got sucked into this afternoon. There’s something weirdly comforting about watching 1982 come to life again.

I can't stand the commercials, but I saw several low budget gay films on it that were interesting, along with the British Queer as Folk (which I hadn't seen before).

For those complaining about the commercials, a good many of the Pluto shows are available on demand. Just click "On Demand" at the top...you can watch and pause, and there's also way less many commercials. I've watched some shows on demand and only had x1 commercial.
From what I've gathered with these free apps, they cycle thru about x2 seasons each month. So for instance, right now I'm rewatching the 'Three's Company' where Mr. and Mrs. Roper move out as the backdoor pilot for 'The Ropers'. This ep will probably replay until the end of the month, and then they'll cycle thru to the next batch of eps. Tubi also does this...I wasn't pay attention and missed half of the last season of 'The Facts of Life', as they reset the cycle and started back with S1. The good thing with Pluto is that they're always adding classic series to the line-up, many of which have their own 24-7 channel.

I got sucked into watching The Price is Right and man oh man was Bob Barker great. He was without a doubt a dirty old man but he was quick on his feet with the contestants and genuinely made me laugh out loud a few times. Dian Parkinson sued Bob in the 90's for sexual harassment but watching these episodes from 1982, she is constantly making doe eyes at Bob and acting like a damn sexpot while showing off an Amana Radarange. I'm also getting a kick out of seeing some of the crappy prizes they offered.

Here's the thing--I've been immersed in "Mission Impossible" since I learned they were running it--seems to have been re-scanned or the prints are pristine--we're talking about 1966! Looks beautiful on a large display. I have always adored the cast, especially Barbara Bain & Marin Landau; the programs themselves are relatively simple with their consistent format, but as with Dark Shadows, I've been giggling through the bloopers--a lot are described on IMDb, much like the blogs that follow Dark Shadows.
It's obvious that that cast had fun doing it, the music is phenomenal (Arguably the best part of the show) & imagination is in full flourish--last week there was a drone, a flat panel display, & last night one of the sets from "Star Trek" out at Vasquez Rocks was used--Lucille Ball green-lit "Star Trek" & "Mission Impossible"--great decision!
Lastly, I also adore all of the big cars with V8 engines--enough big 60s Lincolns/Lincoln limousines to keep me happy :)

R29 same. This is the best and worst thing that has just happened to me. Im two episodes in the Price is Right. Cant stop. These are so old Bob Barker doesn’t even have his “get your pet spayed or neutered” at the end. (I never remember him NOT doing that, but I guess there was a time).

Since you mentioned pets being spayed or neutered, R34, the episode that just ended had Nanette Fabray. 100% of what I know about her came from DL, and 99.999% of that is the Nanette Fabray Monkey.
Instead of thinking the monkey resembled her I've been sitting here thinking to myself, Nanette Fabray really [italic]does[italic] look like the monkey! Oddly enough, the other storyline was about a thief who happened to be a chimpanzee.

Oops, r28 here... the show's name is "CAN0PY Cat Rescue" (sorry, had a brain fart).
The show's pre-rescue animations are a hoot, because 96% of the time, they're pure delusional fantasy. Stressed-out terrified cats will fight to the death, and compared to humans without protective gear (think: kevlar-mesh gauntlets & face mask at a minimum), they're extraordinarily well-armed.
Cat-rescue might have low risk of literal death, but those guys would end up with injuries bad enough to require antibiotics, sutures, and/or butterfly tape all the time if they weren't wearing protective gloves. For rescues involving more aggressive cats (that don't get filmed for the show), they wear face-protection as well.

It’s so funny the games that I thought were permanently erased from my consciousness, as soon as I watched them all the memories came back — including my favorites and least favorites. The Range Game was one of my least — no one ever won on that.

I can really only watch one vintage 'The Price is Right' at a time. Bob Barker's voice, Rod Roddy's voice, the hand-painted, styrofoam-y back drops, and the green shag carpeting are all so overstimulating and kitschy. I can see now why I was enthralled with it as a kid, though. I even had a crush on red-headed Holly...or maybe I just wanted to be her.

This might sound contrived but I cannot imagine why anyone would pay for cable when they have Pluto TV. The only thing I'd watch on cable are reruns of old crappy shows and random movies, which I can now do for free. I was thinking about getting cable, but once I got my new fire tv, I realized there's no reason to spend $100+/month on tv. Yes there are a few good series out there, but it's so easy to torrent them.

I'm not sure how often it happens, but I discovered on the Capitol Riot Day that "CNN" on Pluto was actually the PREVIOUS DAY'S content. Literally, people were storming the Capitol, every TV station in America was showing it, and the CNN channel on Pluto had some lady prattling on about the Georgia Senate Election that, as far as I can tell, was from precisely 24 hours earlier.
I've noticed at other times that "CNN" on Pluto seems to be weirdly delayed by at least a few hours.

I was very pleased to see the very first serial of Dr Who a couple of night ago, (I know, a very acquired taste!) "An Unearthly Child" first shown on 23 November 1963; "The show's launch was overshadowed by the assassination of American President John F. Kennedy the previous day, resulting in a repeat of the first episode the following week. " (Courtesy Wikipedia)
It's truly amazing to me that BBC preserved this program, as later on they commonly didn't save many of the early shows. I love the truly authentic 60s fashions, the plotline that would eventually morph into so many delightful doctors. In the second serial, "The Daleks (also known as The Mutants and The Dead Planet)" (Courtesy Wikipedia) we are treated to some of my favorite bad boys, the Daleks! So cool!
What's also amazing to me is that while we were glued to the unforgettable events of 22 November, Dr Who was getting ready for his debut. While one made such a tragic childhood impression, the other has let me realize that other fun imaginative things were happening across the pond :)

Watch it every night before bed. It's right around the This Old House Channel (can be informative) and the America's Test Kitchen channel. I love the nerdy cute chef Dan on there. Love that you can catch your fav show 24/7. The commercials on Pluto? During the election season, it was brutal. Sometimes the same commercials ran 3x in a row.
