Celebrity Deadpool 2021 - Which celebrities do you predict will pass away in 2021?

It is that time of year again when attention turns to making predictions about what the new year will bring.

Some names that spring to mind for me include Bob Barker, Prince Philip, June Lockhart, Liza Minnelli and Barbara Walters.

King and Queen of England. She goes first, him soon after.

by Anonymousreply 3December 12, 2020 6:14 AM

There's no way Bob Barker is 97, he's more like 84 or 85. He looks like shit.

by Anonymousreply 4December 12, 2020 6:19 AM

No, R4, he is that old. I can't believe he outlived Alex Trebek.

by Anonymousreply 5December 12, 2020 6:25 AM

Barbara Walters is basically senile and/or demented, from what I hear. She has no idea who she is or where she is.

It would be a sad end to an illustrious career, but I've always hated Barbara Walters, so no.

by Anonymousreply 6December 12, 2020 6:50 AM

Britney Spears.

by Anonymousreply 7December 12, 2020 6:51 AM

Nobody I know. Nope. No siree.

by Anonymousreply 8December 12, 2020 6:56 AM

r3 Prince Philip is NOT the King of England the UK or anywhere else!

by Anonymousreply 9December 12, 2020 12:31 PM

r7 I thought she was more stable and happier these days? I would think Lindsay Lohan is a better guess.

R9 - Thank you. It is astonishing how ignorant non-Brits are of how the British monarchy works (and, for that matter, the other European monarchies, in which no consort of a Queen Regnant becomes "King").

That said, given her age, QEII should be on the list, but somehow, no one really expects her to.

She looks healthier than Charles.

Charles is 72. I'll put him on the list just for the hell of it. And won't that put the cat amongst the pigeons!

by Anonymousreply 15December 12, 2020 1:11 PM

The usual suspects: Kissinger, George Schultz, Walter Mondale, Jimmy Carter, Bob Dole. One old rocker, maybe someone like Steve Perry. A younger celebrity surprise or two from drug overdoses. That guy from “Friends” who looks like death, another Perry.

by Anonymousreply 20December 12, 2020 9:11 PM

Philip has always been king in Elizabeth's heart.

by Anonymousreply 21December 12, 2020 9:21 PM

To the contrary, after the Duke of Edinburgh's death the queen will be liberated and remarry within a year or two. The n go on reigning for another 60 years.

by Anonymousreply 22December 12, 2020 9:23 PM

by Anonymousreply 33December 13, 2020 1:45 AM

Gene Hackman sure has been lying low for a long time, hasn’t he. What’s he up to?

It’s too soon for Cloris Leachman. I couldn’t take it.

It’s so weird how Baba Wawa went downhill seemingly so quickly. One day she was just, like, gone... There weren’t any signs on The Views that she was deteriorating.

by Anonymousreply 34December 13, 2020 1:52 AM

Does Bob Dole still do boner pill commercials or is now doing money scams targeting the elderly? Liddy was revolting and she hates being called Liddy. which makes it more fun to do.

My guess is that several MLB players will go in 2021---more and more of the stars from the 50s and 60s seem to die every year. Probably some middling NFL guys, too, with all the neurological damage.

Cheney seems to defy the odds. I think one of the Doles is more likely. Joni Mitchell seems to defy the odds, as well. There are tons of rockstars born in the 40s who are likely to kack given all their drug use. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger seem to defy the odds, but more middling guys doing the third tier Indian casino and suburban "community days" circuits can't be doing well.

Queen Elizabeth

Justin Bieber

Owen Joyner

r159 Well unless you are her doctor you cannot possibly know that she is in perfect health. But the impression that she is in very good health is why her death would be a shock.

Anthony Hopkins seems pretty spry, don't see him clocking out this year.

There's always someone nobody would expect to die, and given his bizarre behaviour, I could see Armie Hammer possibly ODing.

by Anonymousreply 174December 20, 2020 1:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 179December 20, 2020 4:26 PM

For my list, I wanted to add the causes of death.

Queen Elizabeth - Old age

Kanye West - Murder

Britney Spears - Murder made to look like a suicide, likely culprit being her father

Jimmy Carter - Old age

Justin Bieber - Drug overdose

Owen Joyner - Car crash

Jonny McGovern - Suicide or drug overdose

Chaka Khan - Heart attack

Dionne Warwick - Fatal disease or covid

Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi - Suicide

by Anonymousreply 185December 21, 2020 3:04 AM

Deneuve, still a beauty. Even as a mature "plus-size."

American actresses could learn a thing or two from Deneuve and some of her French colleagues about aging with grace.

by Anonymousreply 186December 21, 2020 3:07 AM

R184 I wouldn't be surprised if COVID takes Deneuve out soon. She is in the right age group, a heavy smoker and overwright. Also having recently had a stroke makes her more vulnerable.

by Anonymousreply 187December 21, 2020 3:08 AM

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 189December 21, 2020 4:07 AM

r188 It has already taken a few but I imagine there will be more. Famous names I mean not just stars as in celebrities. So far in the UK covid has taken comedian and actor Bobby ball ,another actor and comedian Tim Brooke Taylor, a notorious aristocrat The Marquess of Bath, 1966 national Football world cup winning squad member Norman Hunter, comedian eddie Large, tv soap actor Johnny Leeze, murderer Peter Sutcliffe otherwise known as the Yorkshire ripper and film actress and producer Hilary Dwyer. Few would be well known in the USA but we have lost a few to it.

by Anonymousreply 190December 21, 2020 4:08 AM

Every year I say the same two Irish celebrities -- Shane McGowan and Sinead O'Connor.

by Anonymousreply 191December 21, 2020 4:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 195December 21, 2020 4:36 AM

Mammie Van Doren.

Mama June, perhaps from COVID, perhaps from an OD.

Marianne Faithful

Oliva Newton John ( I am surprised she has made it this far with all her medical issues)

by Anonymousreply 196December 21, 2020 4:36 AM

Some more names to throw into the mix

Raquel Welch , Linda Nolan, June Brown, Leslie Phillips , Carroll Baker, Lorna Luft, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Robert Duvall, Don King and another one of the Pointer sisters.

by Anonymousreply 200December 21, 2020 5:41 AM

r100 Good question. Someone digging out the old thread and having a nosey at it could be interesting. I know a few mentioned Vera Lynn, Kirk Douglas, Olivia De Havilland and Rhonda Fleming all who did die. However so far Bob Dole, Bob Barker and Jimmy Carter have proved to be wrong predictions.

by Anonymousreply 201December 21, 2020 6:12 AM

I think it’s the exact opposite: she would not have had a film career after 1968 if not for him. That movie she made about Gertrude Lawrence made back less than half of its budget. Yet somehow 20th Century Fox managed to finagle seven Oscar nominations for it. She wasn’t one of them. by Anonymousreply 403January 14, 2021 2:13 AM

r403 I think things have got to a stage were this toxic intimidating atmosphere around politics has reached such heights that no quick or short term fix is possible .I think severe political tumult is going to be with the USA for at least a decade .I want to be wrong but I struggle to see how I am.

On a related point ,I think americans have not grasped that many people and governments around the world are watching your country very closely and are shocked and anxious and how things have become so bad so relatively quickly. This I guess would never be stated publicly but I think in reports and assesements etc by different countries intelligence services that they are giving to their governments especially in the west ,Canada, UK, France, Spain, Australia etc they will be marking the USA down as a country that is becoming an unstable democracy in the long term with all the implications that may flow from that.

I worry about political assassinations, too. IMO, I don't think that people like Biden is as vulnerable as softer targets. For example, I worry about Hillary, and all four Obamas. Maybe Hunter Biden or Kamala Harris's Jewish husband. I worry about Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel and Pope Francis. If you accept the fact that there is a worldwide extremist conspiracy and it is from the Right, and it's inspired and orchestrated and financed by Putin and his minions, then you realize the objective is to demoralize and scare people.

Patsy King who played prison governor Erica Davidson is still with us aged around 92 as is Maggie Kirkpatrick who played vicious prison officer Joan Ferguson aged 80 . Both I expect will feature more heavily in internet celebrity deadpools .

I have this terrible feeling we're going to lose Betty White before the end of the year.

by Anonymousreply 598September 25, 2021 3:03 PM

Yeah R598. That seems like a forgone conclusion. Cloris died end of January. Gavin died end of May. Ed died end of August. It only seems natural that Betty would die end of October or November. I’m gonna guess October 31st.

by Anonymousreply 599September 25, 2021 3:12 PM

I wrote in another thread that the fact that Betty never tweeted anything after Gavin’s, Ed’s and then Jay Sandrich’s (who directed her in both MTM and GG) deaths has me very concerned.
