bacon on pizza you make at home

do you cook the bacon before you put it on the pizza?

do you partially cook it?

do you put it on the pizza midway through baking if you cook the bacon first?

Raw pork should always be cooked thoroughly before ingesting.

I stopped reading at "pizza you make at home."

I have never tried to put it on there uncooked. My pizza is only in the oven for 8 or 9 minutes, I can't imagine bacon would cook through in that time unless I shaved paper thin slices off a slab.

R5 and R9 are right.

You can use ham instead of the hassle of pre-cooking the bacon.

I don't cook with strips of greasy fat.

by Anonymousreply 11December 11, 2020 10:00 PM

Bacon fat and chicken fat disgust me.

I have to clean every utensil and cooker afterwards. And then clean off the residual grease.

R8 is right

by Anonymousreply 13December 11, 2020 10:05 PM

Prosciutto, parma ham, pancetta: yes

Bacon (raw or otherwise): no

I make spinach, white sauce, bacon, marinated artichoke pizza. chop up the bacon when it's half frozen, cook until 'cooked' but not crispy, drain well, put on top of cheese.
